Bump

it's kablawesome. I've been rewatching it lately. shit holds up fantastically. It was genuinely 90s-pleasant without going so far that it became embarrassing (mmmmost of the time)
it's just a shame that unlike, say, Oh Yeah! Cartoons or What A Cartoon, the one-offs they showcased never became anything. not a single one.
Action League Now! got to spin off, but it only got one actual new episode, so that barely counts.

it's actually surprising how many really hip and with-it jokes they had. it felt a lot like the recent MAD cartoon, no surprise the same guy made it.

>nine hundred THOUSAND years ago

P+B is so amusing and yet so boring at the same time. I have to be in exactly the right mood to enjoy it, and I'm usually not in that mood while watching KaBlam!

hey you know what I found out though? Life with Loopy's puppets had magnetic faces, with the features painted on metal plates so they could move around. that's pretty tits in my opinion

>reminder that Nickelodeon aired a cartoon with a character named Sniz
I miss the time before execs could search words on the internet.

>that time henry and june straight up went skinny dipping
>but in the next shot june visibly had her undershirt on
>then it was off again
i'm thinking that was a last minute edit, mark..

Was the Angela Anaconda from somewhere else?

Action League Now was hilarious

Life with Luppy was terrible

everything else was mediocre

I wish Sniz & Fondue and The Offbeats got their own full series.

The creator of Henry and June uploaded every episode of KaBlam! (including the lost episodes and the pilot to "The Henry and June Show") to his website.

markmarek.org/ANIMATIONS/KABLAM.html

I thought this one-shot was cute.

The creator of Life With Loopy had a short-lived show called Phantom Investigators for Kids WB! It's pretty neat. A mix of stop motion, puppets and live action (the ghosts are filmed in live action)

vimeo.com/37220090

oh good point, angela anaconda did spin off, and that was a one-off.

>token black girl is a dj

that and jetcat and offbeats were probably my favorite.
yeah but in fucking quicktime or whatever

>yeah but in fucking quicktime or whatever
Just download it then.

oh man I forgot all about this... i don't think at the time I recognized it, and I certainly didn't give it much of a shot.. i like the girl, i like the phrase 'spectre detector', but the rest.. bleh

it'll still be in quicktime's format or whatever. vlc can run it but not very well. some of the episodes are really janky
it's okay, i still appreciate what he did, but kablam's also on watchcartoononline so i'm checkin it out there.

a gem of creativity from a bygone (much better) era. off the wall quirky (the good kind) humor with variety. it will be missed

at least we'll always have the porn

Bump

thanks, bookmarking this for sure

PIZZA ROCKET!

looks like June's going where no one has gone before
in her pants!

my dad still mentions stinky diver occasionally

>early catgirl waifu

Ahhhhh, good times.

It's there a single character who can defeat Meltman?

>nose is an upside down cross

This was one of my favorite Nickelodeon programs. They had a particularly funny segment about retarded superhero dolls and action figures failing at everything and generally being a nuisance.

This was it!

What porn?

>Henry's VA is Dode from Brick.

Weird.

Bump

What was the name of this short again?

It was where CARTOONS AND COMICS COLLIDE which means it's basically as Sup Forums related as you can get. Also that skank-ass ska soundtrack was phenomenal and it's no exaggeration that the show got me into ska music when I was a youngin'.

'Tweren't the highest quality, but it's definitely this comfy kind of experimental and weird. It was like an Adult Swim show for kids.

Bump

Had direct tv, so I was able to watch it again 3 hours later on Nick West.
Anemia and Iodine

Meltman was one of my favorites.

No idea, user.

Remember the episode where Henry and June were dressed as astronauts, and June pissed herself because she didn't realize their space suits were just Halloween costumes?

You did not just diss Prometheus and Bob.

It straddled the line between hilarious and unsettling so thinly for me. Especially with Bob's constant whelps of pain.

God damn it, Mickey! You're fired!

>mickey
>ever being fired
He is going to be a slave for all eternity.

Doctor worm

That one where he points out how much they all suck. Or where the flesh gets amnesia. The shorts were better than the spin-off. It might have been better if they did a second half as a different show or two, like the old Hanna Barbera shows.

scene?

so weird to think this show is 20 goddamn years old

there's a little here and there
someone needs to do some kind of parody where they're now living in a porn comic and hosting other people's short porn comics and cartoons, turning the page and all that..

What's really funny about that is for years I remembered it being Henry, because (and I wasn't concious of this yet) it felt like no cartoon would ever allow a girl to make a mistake or be humiliated at all.

go tell yer mammy, there's more kablammy

>Anemia and Iodine

Thanks mate.

Bump

even weirder she's a catgirl but there's also a cat in that cartoon.
also it was cute as fuck

Prometheus always creeped me out as a kid.

forgotten gem, srsly, loved that so much

... it holds up really well actually

there were just a few really comfy moments, totally weekend-dad-visit grab a sundae and sit and watch moments on Nick back then.. kablam, and before that Snick.. plus shit like early Toonami and cartoon planet on CN.

I remember someone telling me Henry and June were characters from an erotic novel/film.

I guess it was true.

Birth of a fetish

Henry and June were my first ship. Probably gave me a mild fetish for bro-tier tomboys.

would that be 'Benny and Joon' ?
son that's no fetish, that's called being straight. people who think femininity is about ribbons and flamboyancy are.. well, let's say confused.

Oh man I remember watching entire episodes just so I could get to the phrometeus and Bob shorts
Couldn't care about anything else, cartoons were OK and the puppet show about the kid and his sister too I guess, the super hero toy show sucked

Bob wasn't the one getting hurt dumbass, it was the alien
Bob just spoke that way because he couldn't communicate

yeah but when prometheus got hurt it was funny
but when bob got hurt, which was often (but not as often) you just felt bad for the poor bald rickety retard.

Bob didn't get hurt in most episodes and when he did it was entirely mild compared with Prometheus
Maybe you were just a little faggy kid and grew up to become a full blown faggot. Ever considered that?

I also thought June was a lesbian lol

not even that first guy, he was just disturbing, dude,. i'm pretty sure he was meant to be.
it's like i love watching Frank Moore's crazy experimental art film shit on vimeo, but every time the palsy-ass motherfucker 'talks' it creeps me the fuck out. it's just visceral

i'm pretty sure she had a crush on JTT like all girls in the late 90s

What does Sniz mean? Google's just telling me it means a sneeze that doesn't finish or something like that.

Were all of these figures custom made or did they take some off the shelf and modify them?

>ska soundtrack

It wasn't just Kablam that had this on Nick. What was with 90s/early 00s Nick and ska? Not dissing ska, just wondering who at Nick decided "This is what every show needs to have"

do you have safesearch on or something? because that's like, result four, and results 1-3 and 5-forever are 'vag'
didnt you see the south park episode 'snuke' when hillary clinton had a suitcase nuke in her sniz?
theyre mods. the flesh is an old conan the adventurer figure, thunder girl's head is from a barbie competitor, the body is supposedly a heavily modified she-ra but I don't buy it. wrong scale, way too many joints. stinky diver is a GI joe diver, I don't know those guys, and.. I assume Meltman used to be something before being melted

it was seen as harmless, easily licensed, no lyrics to worry about, and gets everyone pumped up. plus they didnt wanna be left behind on another fad

Safe search is off. Maybe it's just Google giving us different results because we live in different areas. And I don't watch South Park so no.

Nick is the only place I remember having ska on TV back then.

don't forget Mission Hill, basically THE show of the year 2000

I'M A CARTOON CRAMMER
AND I LOVE TO KABLAM

manwhen this show was on I had just started to kablam. Good times.

Just to bump, here's episode 1 guys

youtube.com/watch?v=BRFfAtzoxR4

>aliens attacking DC

Couldn't do that any more.

imagine actually having to go outside in the 90s with a camera and a handful of action figures because it's your job to record them doing weird and funny shit around your neighborhood/town.

that first episode is specially impressive with how much work it must have taken with the car and the litter.

>male and female leads
>the female lead is not constantly shitting on the male lead
what is this strange world

No
He was meant to be uncanny because everything was supposed to since that was the style
If wasn't creepy at all tho it's just you
Probably being the first cartoon you saw with no music or dialogue didn't help

She totally does tho

Wow, I never noticed that you could understand what Prometheus is saying. All this time I thought it was just random electronic sounds.

>june hits henry with her ass, then proceeds to shake said ass, making a sound like a bowl of water sloshing
a more innocent time
right? chuckimation looked like a lot of work. Especially having to make all the broken versions of them still look consistent. In real life action figures are too resilient to break in amusing ways. Apparently the voices were done by local radio personalities

man i dunno, consonantless moaning is creepy to me.
it's.. roughly a 2 to 1 ratio of henry and june respectively getting shat on. That's pretty good.

It's weird how despite the crummy quality of the ripped files, somehow we just all had much worse sound from old TVs. or maybe it was our ears. I never used to be able to understand squat, I needed captioning. Part of it's vocabulary I think, when every tenth word is outside your sphere, you just get used to it.
I recall a Rugrats episode where the response to "can you make a key for that lock?" was "double-bolt or single?" and I heard it as intentional tech gibberish like 'double builder thingo'. the fact that half the shit they said on that show was gibberish led me astray.

but it's like "lol i trol u" pranks and bantz

you just know one of them is going to say "wanna fuck?" one of these days.

I love how the action league characters didn't remotely care about scale, they were all different sizes, some drove toy cars while others drive real ones.. and the musem of modern art was the refrigerator with kids' drawings on it.

I see it more like June nonchalantly asking Henry if he needs to jerk off after they watch a saucier European cartoon together, and telling him he doesn't have to leave the room. Then it just progresses from there. They probably never even vocally acknowledge what they're doing, it's just friends hanging out... inside each other.

>childhood friends imperceptibly turning into lovers
it's nice to dream

The Off-Beats seems like a Peanuts ripoff.

>childhood friends
god that would have been nice.
except everyone is either charlie brown or lucy so it's not as needlessly cruel to just one poor misfit.

Looks like Joe Murray.

what else did he do?
the kid with the cat ghost was so cute

Is there even a good torrent for this series? I remember looking a few years ago and finding nothing

torrent schmorrent. It's on watchcartoononline and in much lower quality on mark marek's website. What more could you ask for? It's not as if a torrent is going to make an old crudely-made 90s tv show suddenly HD. just stream the shit.

I just prefer torrents so I can have copies on my hard drive when I'm away from wifi

ah yeah that i get
but anyone savvy enough to torrent would surely know a way to rip flash or html5 videos from streaming sites, wouldnt they?

Love it. Henry and June sketches were my favorite part desu.

it's funny, they used to be my least favorite, but now i appreciate them way more than wacky short cartoons
