It's gonna be Zootopia. What more needs to be said?
Sup Forums BTFO once again.
Also has anyone in actually seen Zucchini? I wasn't aware of it's existence until it got nominated.
As much as I want this, Moana will probably win.
Nah,, Moana, the butthurt will be glorious
Kubo needs to win.
Kubo is boring
Moana is forgettable
Zucchini is sad kids doing sad things
Turtle is 2deep4oscars
Zootopia is just bland enough and exciting enough to win.
that sure is a list
does the zucchini one happen to star Rob Schneider?
Can't wait to see ZOOTOPIA beat up KUBO the MEME STING, and LAIKA shills will whine about the result like fucking losers as we all expected.
>Zootopia
>Bland
I agree, Original Zootopia was much more interesting, this scene alone is Oscar worthy:
youtube.com
Unfortunately it was too dark for kids to handle. Sad, but money talks.
Come on. That scene is pretty unnerving, even for kids.
Is it a good scene with emotional impact? Yes. Would I include it in a children's movie about talking animals? Fuck no.
so why do you watch movies
stop being such a demotivate cunt
wake up
you didn't lose anything
shit, that was depressing.
Is this the real trailer?
It makes me want to avoid watching it at all costs.
Yeah, just keep shoving awards at me without hooking me in to the actual movie, fuck.
Shame. I like it since its got a lot more resonance to Judy's speech later.
>Kubo and the Two Strings
Doesn't deserve it, but good for Laika.
>Moana
Fuck this gay world.
>My life as a Zucchini
There is still hope for Man.
>The Red Turtle
What the fuck, academy?
Zootopia
>Disappointed but not surprised.
Long Way North should have been nominated, tho.
It's just a video they made for Twitter
Well, it's fucked and they should be ashamed.
Thanks for letting me know, user.
>The Red Turtle
Never heard of it.
>My Life as a Zucchini
Wait, this one is real? I've heard Sup Forums mention it a few times, but I just thought someone was taking the piss. The fuck is it even about?
Yep, those are definitely animated feature films.
>why do you watch movies
For the good ones. None of the above qualify as "good".
Zucchini > Kubo > Moana > Red Turtle >>> Zootopia
I know it's a long shot and Zoo will probably win but so far two of the first three Brutally Honest Oscar ballot this year said they voted the Red turtle.
Could the Disney conditioning be wearing off? Are they finally taking animation as a serious medium?
That's carrot
Kubo should win
Zootopia will win
...
...
I only saw Moana and Zootopia.
Moana was better
Hi there Lin Manuel Miranda!
What are you doing shilling on Sup Forums?
"Best Animated" only exists as a category so no animated film could ever win "Best Picture." Most of the Academy doesn't even watch the nominees for BA and end up just picking whatever was the most popular/most commercially successful/what their kids/grandkids liked.
The Oscars are a fucking joke.
...
>Anonymous Oscar voter #5
>I voted for Zootopia because I wanted to fuck that bunny.
Plz let it happen. My sides wouldn't be able to take the keks that would arise.
>this dog turd is less smelly
>The Red Turtle getting nominated over Kimi No Na Wa / Your Name
>nominating My Life As A Zucchini to gain and / or shut up about nominating any indie movies instead of Your Name / Kimi No Na Wa
It was actually my favourite disney movie since Atlantis came out
Last year's most commercially successful animated movie was Finding Dory, and based Oscars has balls to cut it off from the list, ya sourpuss.
We already told you, putting lens flares on everything and rotoscoping backgrounds doesn't make a good film.
Keit-ai didn't find a way.
I honestly don't think I had heard of Zucchini and Turtle before they were nominated.
...
...
Pretty much
Threadly reminder that Keit-ai is now the highest grossing anime film of all time.

Stop posting that because it's already a thing.
>Worldwide gross
>mostly Japan and China
fucking kek desu
Spirited Away could reach more than 500M, if China had opened their market to us back then.
Moana has no place on the list.
B-but.. but.... muh Disney!!!
If it wins ill flip shit
>Kubo
This movie didn't really click for me until the climax, but after that it was excellent.
>Moana
My little sister liked it.
>Zootopia
Bretty good. I know people on here like the idea of the first draft, but I honestly prefer buddy cop movie with talking animals over Psycho-pass with talking animals.
Wait a fucking minute; since when do people hate Moana? I loved that movie.
It hasn't even opened in America and it's already the highest grossing anime of all time.
>Spirited Away could reach more than 500M
It didn't tho.
You couldn't even post Keit-ai on Sup Forums without getting a 30-day ban.
Don't forget Spirited Away had John Lasseter shilling it.
Your name doesn't have that advantage.
>mfw no Kubo rule 34
This is a fucking lie.
Don't fall for it, everyone.
China hadn't open their market to us when Spirited Away came out.
Spirited Away had potential to reach 500M.
and the Oscar winning is 500M worthy, Spirited Away therefore is practically a 1000M movie desu.
The creator is actually happy. If it won an oscar, He'd get too much attention and then his idol would see his film and say something controversial about it.
Well that was soul crushing.
My heart goes with Kubo, but I know either Zootopia or Moana will win
I wanted to see it just to hear my waifu's (Ellen) role, but couldn't find it anywhere. I think it's a really minor role too.
The Academy are maximum plebs and don't even watch the animated movies so it's between Moana and Zootopia. And because Moana is the princess movie it'll probably be that, even though Zootopia was better.
>Oscar Animated Feature Nominations
Why do you even give them the time of day? Honestly, they could not have made it any clearer.
Remember when The Hollywood Reporter ran candid, anonymous interviews with Oscar voters a few years ago? Well, they're doing it again, and they're put out three so far. As soon as I read them, I knew you guys would be interested.
Voter #1
Best Animated Feature
>I watched them all and liked several of them, but I loved The Red Turtle, which was the most profound of the group.
> My vote: The Red Turtle
Best Animated Short
>The two that I liked the best were Piper, which is so adorable, and the one with the cigarettes where that crazy guy goes to China [Pear Cider and Cigarettes], which I voted for because it is very intriguing and different.
>My vote: Pearl Cider and Cigarettes
Voter #2
Best Animated Feature
>I didn't see any of them. I'm not that interested in animated films, to be honest with you.
>My vote: [Abstain]
Best Live-Action, Animated & Documentary Short
>This was a year when my interest in the Oscars was not as strong as it has been in the past because of the political situation at the moment — like so many others, I've felt hugely discouraged about much more important things, and frankly I just didn't want to spend my time doing this.
>My vote for all three: [Abstain]
It's a pretty standard "for your consideration" ad made for the Academy
Voter #3
Best Animated Feature
>I'm not big on animation or animators. I know a girl who only has sex with animators — she works over at Disney. In any event, my least favorite was Moana — just typical Disney fare. I really, really liked Kubo and the Two Strings, My Life As a Zucchini and Zootopia. But I loved The Red Turtle — it was so simple and it spoke about life and it looked like a watercolor painting to me. Plus I have a fetish for turtles — I've just written a project about a turtle.
>My vote: The Red Turtle
Best Animated Short
>I really didn't like Borrowed Time — there was no point and the whole Western theme didn't work for me, period. I did not like Blind Vaysha — I couldn't figure it out. Pearl was really sweet and I liked it — that message about what we pass on to our children. And then it was between Pear Cider [and Cigarettes] and Piper. I have a bunch of years sober from my drug of choice, so watching Pear Cider hit a little bit close to home for me. Plus, it was much too long, and also, while I like the graphic novel approach, the movie was so infrequently animated that it's hard to vote for it.
>But, even setting all that aside — oh, man, I'm embarrassed about this one — I really liked that silly little Piper. I had to ignore that it was Pixar because that's like the anti-Viagra: you see Pixar's name and you know it's all gonna be the same — probably great, but just the same. But that little bird? I could have spent an hour-and-a-half watching that f---ing bird. I really loved his energy. I guess I'm just mushier than normal this year.
>My vote: Piper
Oh, and if anyone cares for the links:
>hollywoodreporter.com
Not to shill, I just find these interviews really interesting. And more should be coming up soon
It's all shit
You are all shit
I wish a meteorite would fall and kill us all
>you didn't lose anything
How about all the years I lost?
I like this guy
At least he's honest
Sound really annoying
What's with all the hate for Moana? It was great
It's literally the "Let's Give Disney An Award" award
Meteorites can't kill us all~ They are not the ones that fall~
Every year I'm reminded of Wes Anderson's jab at the Academy in his Mr. Fox nomination clip.
I fucking hate zootopia
> I know a girl who only has sex with animators.
> Plus I have a fetish for turtles
> . I had to ignore that it was Pixar because that's like the anti-Viagra:
Holy Fuck, this guy is great.
>I really didn't like Borrowed Time — there was no point and the whole Western theme didn't work for me, period.
I agree with him 2bh, I didn't think it was a particularly good short.
