it's NOT DISNEY so NO ONE cares.

>will only care for the porn just like Modyfiers

>steampunk
>piston engine sounds
Why even bother?

>Steampunk
>Shitty 3d vehicles
>Le quirky female protagonists
>Flat voice acting

Maybe it should go back.

>Decent animation
>But cogfop shit-tier steampunk
I'll wait for decent steampunk instead of the animated equivalent of spray-painted Nerf guns, thanks.

...

How is it this hard to come up with some machines and vehicles based on steam engines instead of just slapping cogs on everything though?

It's not like there wasn't an overabundance of steam powered things to draw from in the past.

To be fair though, I never searched for any so maybe there is more of that than I think.

>tfw backed the kickstarter
I really need to put up the artwork at some point, it's rather nice.

2D alive in:
>Europe
>Japan
>American TV
>Indie scene
>Student films
>Patreon/Kickstarter
>Somehow considered dead because Disney feature film division doesn't do it

Also this project has been WIP for like, 5 years and I've barely seen any updates.

>Hullabaloo
AND HOWDY-DOO!

this. okay animation with shitty everything else isn't worth it

\\\work in progress///

That looks kind of cool. Let me guess, French?

The updates are almost entirely gives out to supporters on a private closed blog. Updates ARE happening, you are just not allowed to see them.

Ugh!!. WHITE? THIN? I'M TOTALLY TRIGGERED!!

So true. The whole idea of steam punk based on the idea that that hand crafted machines have a unique style. Assembly line products maybe cheaper but lack in "soul". E.g. an old telescope works for a long time and still looks like a valueable item.

This is a perversion of that idea. It's like an imprinted seal on a computer written letter.

Yeah, it's by JSBC.
jsbc.fr/en/full-lenghts/

What the fuck is cogfop

What a bunch of hullabaloo.

Purely ornamental gears/cogs, goggles on hats that can't be lowered past the wide brims, slabs of brass randomly sewn into garments, switches gauges vacuum tubes and similar parts slapped onto things that aren't actually machines that serve a purpose, and all of it coexisting on one outfit modeled after Victorian dandies and/or harlots.

Good to know.

WHAT HAPPENED TO 2D SERIES

Isn't this the shitty 2D animated short made by former Disney animators who's gimmick to entice audiences in this piece of shit is:

"And this time for the toooootally first time ever we'll do a Female Protagonist!"

Fuck these manginas.

not the same who did these cartoons about dogs and cats "declaration of indogpedence" ?

or did they scatter?

is klaus even a thing still? theres been no news of it since that teaser

Speaking of the private blog, here is proof that they keep updating, keep working on it.

No, not sharing the link cause I'm a dick like that :)

>steampunk

>last update 5 months ago
>I-it's not dead guys! I-i'm totally not regretting backing it!

>5 months
It's 3 months, you european degenerate!

When will you guys join the rest of us in the 21st century?

The only time I have ever seen steam punk work in any setting was in Raise of Nations: Raise of Legends

Everything else is usually shit or "diesel punk" which is also kinda shit unless you're a pig man flying a air plane

>private blog
That's up on the indiegogo page too though, it's not really secret

>Victorian harlots

That's my fetish!

I'm no expert in what qualifies as steampunk anymore, but I thought April and the Extraordinary World was good.

Ewww it's hand drawn! Please tell me they will make a CG version like Frozen!

Quick, name an upcoming 2D animated theatrically released movie.

Arcanum was pretty dope.

Justice League Dark.
The Breadwinner.
Sword Art.
Black Butler.

Oh, but since none of those are American, I guess they don't count. I guess since American feature film doesn't have 2D animation, that means the rest just doesn't exist. Boy, the medium sure is dead. I must be imagining all those shows on CartoonNetwork, DisneyTV, and Nickelodeon since 2D is just so dead.

Ya'll want a real fucking dead medium, go look at stop-motion. You can barely find indie artists who use it. Laika and Aardman are literally the only two preserving it.

Just because something is popular doesn't make it right.

This actually looks really freaking good. I love the concept too, which is a feat considering that I usually find steampunk to be garbage and cringey as fuck. Honestly if anything, steampunk would fit a traditionally animated cartoon very well.

>Everything else is usually shit or "diesel punk" which is also kinda shit unless you're a pig man flying a air plane
Hey man, dieselpunk is underrated as fuck. More people need to make dieselpunk works. At least it still has a lot of potential, unlike steampunk.

My Little Pony: The Movie

>2D animation
Alright, I'll give it a loo--
>cogfop bullshit.
Nevermind.

It's not upcoming any more but The Long Way North

Holy moly that voice acting is bad. My friend's failed Kickstarter movie's audio track had better voice acting. And I'm pretty sure that villain's laugh is ripped from Mario 64.

Definitely impressive LOOKING for an independent project however, even if reddit-tier steampunk isn't my jam. Wish we could move beyond the Disney / Don Bluth school of character design though.

>I wish people would stop doing things that are good and look good and are aesthetically pleasing and pleasant to look at

Yeah, it looks FINE, I won't argue that. It's not the ONLY way to do shit that looks good, though.

Pic related isn't the only way either. Just an example of a differently styled, traditionally animated movie that looks fantastic. I want more innovation in this field.

Uh, user... I'm pretty sure that pic implies the opposite of what your post says...

>...okaaayyy...
Immediately trash writing. And it bears repeating, that voice acting sucks. I'm looking forward to the r34 of the halfling, though.

>quirky female protagonist
>steampunk

Met James Lopez at Comic Con and his booth was actually playing the finished portions of the second episode featuring the Cheshire Cat. Looked pretty damn good imo.

Oh yeah I've already knew about this. Looks pretty cool. Definently will watch.

Whatever Tomm Moore is directing.

Probably not getting a wide release, though.

Look at your post's header formatting on this U.S. website kid, now shut the fuck up.

Holy fuck, I forgot.

It's temp, you dunce.

>awkward "first take, no art direction" student project tier animation
>destined to never be more than a plotless short
>it fucking crowdfunded almost half a million dollarydoos

That film about the wolf that the team behind Ernest and Celestine are making.

Are you suggesting you are a better animation director?

Klaus is in production, as far as i know. They were hiring about half a year ago, IIRC. Fuck, it looks lush.

Saga of Rex. It will begin production after Michel is done with the Spiderman and MLP movies.

>Video is from August 2014

>female protagonist wearing a dress shirt, vest, and a tophat with goggles

You could not come up with a more stereotypical steampunk mc

I don't really like steampunk but goddamn it feels like they didn't even try
