Movie of the year thread:

Movie of the year thread:
1. Blade Runner 2049
2. Dunkirk
3. Logan.
4. Baby Driver
5. It Comes At Night

What are yours?

1. Dunkirk
2. Blade Runner 2049
3. Maybe Darkest Hour?

2017 wasn't a very good year for kino. Anything except for #1 and #2 are honestly forgettable or just bad.
Darkest Hour might be nice but I don't have my hopes up very far.

>Blade Runner 2049
Ah I see you too are a bacon narwhal. Take this upvote good sir, you have won the Internet for today.

1. Thelma
2. Raw
3. The Untamed
4. Blade Runner 2049
5. Dunkirk

"The Mummy" - so high expectations, Tom Cruise, Crowe, modern times, supposed to be horror... so disappointing result. No one said "movie of the year" is the best one, so this is my pick.

...

Good Time
Blade Runner 2049
...
Logan I guess

In no particular order

>A Ghost Story
>Good Time
>Dunkirk
>Raw
>BR2049

Best:
1. Ghost Hunting 2. The Woman Who Left 3. El mar la mar 4. Quality Time 5. On the Beach at Night Alone
6. Dark Night 7. Rey 9. Sleep Has Her House 10. Voyage of Time (Blanchett version) 11. Good Time

Worst(no order):
Get Out, Baby Driver, Blade Runner 2049, Logan, The Big Sick, Okja, Don't Kill It
Columbus, Beauty and The Beast, Atomic Blonde, Kuso, Power Rangers, The Bad Batch

No order:
El mar la mar, good time, blurred lines, good time, gemini, loveless and blade of the immortal (weeb guilty pleasure)

really only liked Blade Runner and Dunkirk this year.
you're trying way too hard buddy

That's a nice looking poster. Is this official poster?

>4. Baby Driver
If you get an opportunity, you should kill yourself.

seems like fan made retro take. official ones were meeh

Don't be like this prickIt was a decent, fun heist movie.

BR 2049
Dunkirk
Trainspotting 2
The Death of Stalin
Jawbone

British cinema had a good year.

Come on man, I may be autist for details, but:

1) Heist at broad daylight;
2) Red (!!!) subaru;
3) Driving like a madman.

>2017 sux

Mother! was my favorite movie of the year

Saw Good Time yesterday. Why everyone praise this movie so much? It was mediocre at best. How stupid must you be to bring your autistic brother to a heist?

>2017 wasn't a very good year for kino. Anything except for #1 and #2 are honestly forgettable or just bad.
The entry level imdb buff that consumes videogames everyone

I have an irrational fear of needles. Is it worthwhile to watch Trainspotting?

what were you expecting? as soon as anyone posts anything outside those flicks gets called try hard or bait

Just kidding. I didn't watch Valerian because it seemed a bit boring. But I loved the capekino this year.

Dunkirk is boring shit
Baby driver is mediocre at best the ending is total shit

Good Time and Wind River were the only ones I enjoyed so far, and they were just solid, nothing special (Good Time better than Wind River though). It Comes at Night, A Ghost Story, Baby Driver and Blade of the Immortal were offensively bad. Hopefully some good films come out soon

1, The Handmaiden
2, Get Out
3, Raw
4, The Wailing
5, Baby Driver

>Dunkirk
>Loving Vincent
>BR 2049
Only things I bothered to see at the cinema this year desu

>sequel to classic film made by Nolan 2.0
>good
hasn't this movie run its course long enough for you plebs to go back to Sup Forums sp and redddit?

I really liked Killing of a Sacred Deer and Dunkirk, I'd say it's a tie between them. Blade Runner 2049 was my best experience in cinema, ridiculously good cinematography. But something about the plot just seemed really forced. I would have liked to see more of a standalone movie, we really didn't need Deckard or Rachel back, it's not fucking Star Wars it's never been about family lines and being the chosen one (that 'twist' was also given away an hour too early).

Good Time, Brawl on Cell Block 99 and Baby Driver are up there too. OPN should have done the 2049 score.

Other than that most movies I've seen from this year (~30) have been pretty forgettable

Blade Runner is just as shitty as Baby Driver, so you should do the same.

How old are you?

1. GotG2
2. Blade Runner 2049
3. Dunkirk
4. Murder on the Orient Express
5. Death Of Stalin

In no particular order
Logan
Baby Driver
Wonder Woman
IT
Blade Runner 2049

The only three who came up in my mind.

Blade Runner 2049
Logan
John Wick Chapter 2

2017 was not too great desu

(Still havent watched Dunkirk btw)

>3. Logan.
>4. Baby Driver
pleb

>oh no, no one cares about my shit """art"""house flicks that released in 20 theaters and still no dvd

fuck off retard

Good post :)

dunkirk
get out
song to song
a ghost story
blade runner

>blade runner 2049 isn't for plebs!!
>every list has it listed with garbage like capeshit and babydriver
>2017 was not too great desu
>that entire lsit
the fucking gall of this kid

I only saw It, Spider-Man Homecoming, GotG2, Thor, Shape of Water, Logan, and Wind River this year. I'd put them as:
1. Spider-Man
2. Shape of Water
3. Logan
4. Thor
5. GotG
6. Wind River

In no order, my top 5
>Brigsby Bear
>Good Time
>2049
>A Ghost Story
>Logan

Special mentions go to Mayhem and John Wick 2.

2017 was dog shit for movies.
Thanks a lot Zlormp...

I will never not enjoy seeing this autist sperge out, it's like he lives on Sup Forums

>Ree we had some arthouse threads 5 years ago so I'm gonna devote my life to shitting up any thread that involves mainstream movies

just fucking kys senpai

How to discredit your list with two simple movies:

- Logan
- Get Out

>most lists are movies tailor made to impress 15-30 yo males who love TDK, Fight Club, and Pulp fiction
loving these laughs

Dubskirk is the only good movie this year

check them

Blade Runner 2049

HOLY FUCK

Also
>baby driver
>blade runner 2
>john wick
>any (south)korean film
And soon to be star wars 8

blade runner 2049
good time
ladybird
wind river

Dunkirk, Logan are terrible
It Comes at Night is okay but not great

...

Someone has fucking Spider-Man and you pick out those movies?
Good, because Spider-Man is GOAT

Get Out was fun but I don’t think it belongs in my top 5

spider-man was trash

1.) Blade Runner 2049
2.) Dunkirk
3.) Baby Driver
4.) IT
5.) The Foreigner

Baby Driver was fucking shit. Teen romance bollocks

Your favorite movie of this year? Cant wait to read the plot of some movies no one heard before.

My current top 5:
1. Blade Runner 2049
2. Gerald's Game
3. Baby Driver
4. Dunkirk
5. Split

I haven't seen:
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Good Time
Raw
Creep 2
Get Out

...

LOL
throw in three billboards and you've got a very good satire of reddit "cinebuffs"

baby driver was okay up until spacey helps them out because he was in love once or some other dumb fucking shit.

Just add Dunkirk to that and it sums up everything good this year. I loved Spider-man but it's whatever compared to those.

what lesser known movies should I watch that's out on torrents so I can make snide comments like you

You two are such fucking plebs. A lot of good films came out this year:

>Wind River
>Baby Driver
>Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
>Good Time
>The Killing of a Sacred Deer
>It Comes at Night
>Logan Lucky
>Gerald's Game
>I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore
>Split
>It
>Mother!
>War for the Planet of the Apes

>>Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
haha

Brawl in Cell Block 99 or Blade Runner 2049. Everything else was average or shit.

most embarassing post ITT

BPM you fucking plebs

Critique every film on that list without mentioning reddit, IMDb or fedoras.

>Ctrl+F 'The Beguiled'
>0/0
Holy shit do you guys even Kino?

1. Justice League
2. Justice League
3. Justice League
4. Justice League
5. Justice League

The beguiled more like reviled because no one likes it

I agree with you, OP. Did Arrival come out this year or last year? If so, add that to the list.

No, we are basically a combination of Facebook and Watchmojo at this point.

Last.

Thoughts on:
Loveless
The Other Side of Hope
Columbus
The Square
Lucky
Clair Obscur
The Long Excuse
The Young Karl Marx
Satan Said Dance
Mrs. Fang

Split was actually good, as i said i mentioned the only ones who came up in my mind. Still have to watch It and Mother. The other ones you mentioned i'm not interested/never heard about.

nice

>3. Guardians of the Galaxy
it's a solid 5/10 nigger

Middlebrow trash

Fair enough. I would highly recommend Baby Driver, Gerald's Game and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

>Columbus
Kogonada and John Cho actually came to the theater I work at to do a Q&A. That was neat.

Movie itself was good but a hard sell if you’re not into Architecture

Stronger

>
It's pretty good. It pales in comparison to the original though.

1-justice ala league of kinos

John Wick Chapter 2 was fucking great.

...

I loved arrival. But it was last year

Good Time
A Ghost Story
Killing of a Sacred Deer
The Square
Wind River
BR2049

Haven't gotten a chance to see Three Billboards yet

>A Ghost Story
Is it out yet?

Honorable mentions:
John Wick Chapter 2
Wind River
GotG 2
Trainspotting 2
Get Out

I watch films kid not movies

Why do people think Logan was good?
Is it because of the "it's violent so it's mature" shit?
To me it seemed like a teenager's view on what a "serious" superhero movie should be

saw it in theaters but you should be able to pirate it by now

God, all of your lists are trash. Get some taste.
