Another bloody reboot
The current nick show is fine tho.
Too much 80s circlejerking and pop-culture references though.
Never watched the 2003 series?
>unwarranted mystical bullshit
It's the lost season all over again.
2003 goes off the rails and into complete self-parody about three seasons in.
>Ah, but you didn't know about the clade of shredders that preside over all ninja and stuff!
I thought the consensus on Sup Forums was that the (actual) first 5 seasons were good?
One through five was a gentle slope but it was always going down little by little.
First four
season 5 AKA the "lost season is full of horrible unwarrented magical shredder bullshit
season 6 has time travel nonsense and a way lighter tone
season 7 had and ugly redesign that gave the turtles pupils and failed to recapture what made the first seasons so great
The first couple of seasons were neat, but so were the first couple of seasons of 87 and 2012.
At least it didn't constantly rely on "dude references to movies and shows the kids aren't gonna get LMAO'.
>a younger and lighter feel
Didn't know that was possible
Fuck you that shit was fun to watch. Only Shedderfags hate that shit for some faggot reason.
It's the only good one that's in cartoon form, I won't get into the comics to trigger autists.
2003 > 2K12 > Fast Forward > 80s >>> Back to the Shitter.
They turned into dragons, man.
>I grew up with 2003, thus nostalgia blinds me to how bad it got
The 5th season keeps the "feel" from the first 4, but the others might as well be from a different show.
also it resolves the cliffhanger
T-E-E-N-A-G-E M-N-T
TMNT, LET'S GO
And I was fine with that in a world filled with mutants. Hell, it was one of the more "calmer" stories involving "mutagen" to the point it makes 2K12 look weirder.
Uh, no, as you can see why I put 2K12 next to it, it almost could have beaten it at one point but thanks to all the plots that were shoved out the door (Space Arc, unrevolved scenarios from the earlier points in the series, etc) it just got put down because of it, I blame Nick for that. Quite sad really, it's a pretty good show overall.
And the only "later parts" of 2003's turtles that was garbage was as I pointed out in my post if you'd read faggot, FF and Back to the Shitter where they belong.
>no one sperging out over venus in the OP
You've changed, Sup Forums.
So is this going to be like Transformers in the 00's? A new reboot of the exact same characters with new toys every couple of years?
Only spergs have ever cared.
Fuck this shit, where's my street sharks reboot?
>
>2003 goes off the rails and into complete self-parody about three seasons in.
Isn't this how pretty much all ninja turtles series go down in their last season?
>They all start out with the low key, ninjas from the sewer fighting mafia ninjas from Shredder on the streets.
>Then some robots get involved, then occasionally aliens, sometimes there is a mystical guy or two.
>Then two seasons later they are in time traveling spaceships fighting giant alien hordes from other dimensions
>Then the show is completely not recognizable from the first couple seasons when they were street level ninjas that fought gangs and ninjas
>Last season is some wacky over the top space/time/dimension adventure with cyborg turtle, magic turtle, and a few side characters while they fight omniversal threats with swords and nunchuks
For some reason the narrative just falls completely apart by the third season into what is basically a totally different show, from a different genre that just happens to have the same names for the main characters.
Turtles Forever was amazing though.
True, I guess.
Yes it was, but it's a movie so I didn't count it. But if I did I'd put it just a bit over 2K12 when compared to their "80s crossover/jab moments" but on par with 2K12 as a whole.
Another reason for the autistodrome forums to sperging out like retarded kids.
i wonder if its because marketing always gets their hands on it and says "What if there's a robot/mystical creature" that would be good for toys.
>Tits on a shark
Tits are already disgusting enough on mammals. They don't need to pollute other species with their gross shape and icky fat.
Oh no, it's... Sup Forums? /lgbtqastsqwf/? /pollgbt/?
Shut up faggot
THEY BITE
It is a show meant to sell toys. I guess lots of people at Playmates just treat it like a scifi/fantasy because mutant ninjas are involved so there is no bar in the first place.
But it would be nice if they just kept the damn story to ninjas on the streets fighting other ninjas with things cobbled together from common crap like trash can lids, manhole covers, tires, car parts, etc. And Shredder is not some other dimensional alien, robot, or alien sidekick, or overlord of mutant armies.
It's kinda built into the DNA of the series. You've basically got two story-telling avenues that don't just amount to the turtles crushing gang-members and mafia like Spider-Man and it's the clash between the Foot/Hamato Clan (inherently mystical/ninja shit) and the origins of the turtles/ooze (inherently sci-fi). Once the Hamato/Foot side of things is exhausted it has no option but to delve deeper into the sci-fi stuff.
Dicks are the second most disgusting thing in nature after breasts. Truly, Satan's punishment to mankind.
Fine.
Fuck off, dr nefarious.
To be fair a large part of that is because fans demand a lot of those later elements (triceratons, utroms, etc.)
THEY FIGHT
As they try, they shall fail. The recent surge in TMNT interest died with the second Bay movie. It's over for another decade.
Until we still have the IDW comics I'm fine.
Nefarious was okay with tits as long as they were robotic.
THEY STAND FOR EVERYTHING RIGHT
Okay I don't mind them doing this but if that's the case, why fucking make a last season with magic bullshit at all?
I mean imagine how hype it'd be and not knowing who could die and knowing that this was the last season? Instead they just ended with the death of splinter and shredder and then did this bullshitty "there might be bigger and badder threats out there we always gotta be ready" ending for the last season and then it's going magic mystic bullshit.
Also if it doesn't look like this I'll be seriously fucking disappointed.
I was hoping Jhonen's short would be used as the basis of a series. I'm disappointed.
but jhonen's short was the weakest of all of them, it was actually closest to TTG. Even the crap one where they turn human for the episode was more entertaining than Jhonen's.
Magic means Venus doesn't it. Where going to get the mystical magic turtle aren't we?
>Even the crap one where they turn human for the episode was more entertaining than Jhonen's.
I hope she's actually in the new show
>still being an invader zim fan
I forget that kids born in 1999 can post here now.
Wait, you don't seriously LIKE the vasquez short do you?
I'm not knocking I'm genuinely curious, what was it that you liked.
I dunno user, that human one was BAD. Clear winner was though. That needs to be the standard the new series aims for, that shit was stylish and well animated.
It started out right, then it goes into nothing with stupid polts. And what was the point of Mystic Turtles if alien tech is better?
Only good thing about Fast Forward is alien loli.
True that
>Only good thing about Fast Forward is alien loli.
Starlee
Actually, I think "more fun and light-hearted" approach to TMNT would be like Fast Forward.
I fear she will look like her mother as she grows older...
The Utroms, Fugitoid, and Triceratons all appeared in, like, issue 4 or 5 of the original Mirage comics. Renet and Savanti Romero were in issue 9. The scifi/fantasy stuff has been there practically since the beginning.
It's a shame it's getting a reboot, but if it's anything like the Space and Time short I might be into it.
The new show hasn't even ended yet, jesus.
It all depends on how "kid-friendly" it will be. I can't imagine it ending well. If the turtles are damned to be infinitely rebooted why don't they just base the cartoon off the IDW comics?
Ask again after they clarify this "magical world beneath New York" stuff.
I'm hoping the Turtles and April are a little older again. I don't mind the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are actually teenagers" thing, but I guess I'm just hoping for something different.
I wouldn't mind if they were around 16-18. I know that the current Nick turtles started the series at 15, but they felt younger, like they were 13-14
Who? I don't see any female Turtle in that image.
I remember anticipating the 2003 series so much, waiting and waiting for it, watching he while countdown on the foxbox before it and everything, and then it finally it starting and being so utterly disappointed at the intro, and that it didn't even have the tune of the first one.
Shit grew on me by the third episode though.
