I'll admit it would be a refreshing surprise to see Jarco be "end game," but I only really want this if Jackie has some stake in the larger plot. I also want her to have goals and dreams. Marco gets to have karate episodes, so let's see some episodes about Jackie competing in a skateboarding tournament or getting a part time job at a history museum or something.
But I think it's really, really clear that the show is heading towards Starco, and I'm also fine with that.

It's being made very clear that the Mewni Kingdom has a dark side. Star was horrified to learn that Mewnipendence Day was actually a horrific slaughter of innocent monsters, something that everyone else back home seemed cool with. If someone pointed out just how wrong slavery was , and why, she'd probably wind up changing her mind on that as well. Star seems to be the white sheep, so to speak, in that everyone else is willing to accept this while she rebels.
So, here's hoping the Season Three Mewni Arc does just that.
