read it. even if you are a DC fan you will gain a new perspective about how little they care for you and your capeshit.

>studios are all controlled by idiots that know nothing about what the average joe likes nor about the franchises they turn into movies
what else is knew?
but still a funny story. do you have more like that?

Why are Hollywood executives so fucking braindead? Disney really struck gold with Kevin Feige. No matter what you think about the movies, he did manage to turn Z-listers into cashcows and has audiences all over the world by the balls.

Pretty sure DC fans hate the studios more than anyone since they are the one's who keep destroying the movies.
I liked MoS but BvS and now Justice League are shaping up to be a total mess because execs refuse to just let Snyder do his job.

Disney are far superior at market research and knowing what their audience like. they dont allow the execs to make the movies they wanna see.

what z-listers?

Pretty much the entire MCU roster.

Disney is so far on the other scale however. They do nothing outside of market research and focus groups.
The movies they make are constructed by focus groups to the point that they are inventing AI that watches you as you watch their movies to find your reactions so it can write movies itself based on the reactions it sees.

source please ?

I want to read the complete article.

its not an article. it was a guy in a plebbit thread.

>Pretty sure DC fans hate the studios more than anyone since they are the one's who keep destroying the movies.

They seem to have developed a coping mechanism, whereby they convince themselves that the DC films are actually good. Look how many people on Sup Forums defend MoS and BvS. It's approaching prequel apologist levels.

Avengers weren't really popular outside Spiderman and the Hulk. the most popular Marvel characters were from the X-Men. though I wouldn't call Iron Man and Cap z listers, maybe c listers would be more accurate.

They select for it. Between what OP posted and the Sony emails it's very obvious that these studios have spent generations electing people to their boards who only care about the money and desperately struggle to comprehend what it is the audiences want.

Amy Pascal has no idea what she's doing - if anything she's also the prime example of someone promoted about their competency level. That guy who was convinced Iron-Man's success was solely down to the fighter jet scene is beyond clueless.

Marvel's making bank because Kevin Feige is the opposite: he understands the whole concept from the fans' perspective and how that POV can be used to make the movie good. Good movie = good box office. He picks directors with imaginations who also have the technical skills to make good solid movies. They also have to be decent team players who are comfortable with working within a larger framework.

Every one else is just "that sounds like a lot of work and time... let's see if we can just pretend to imitate that and con the audience into thinking we're doing it well."

>Disney really struck gold with Kevin Feige.
pretty much. this guy both understands these characters and how to make them work on the big screen.

it'd be really cool to see how these WBDC meetings go, with executives on one side, and Zack, Geoff, Joss etc. on the other.

>He picks directors with imaginations who also have the technical skills to make good solid movies

ahahahahahahahahahahahaha no

Reminds me of Kevin Smith's story about Superman Lives

lmao his fucking disgusted face at the question

They should have listened to Jon. This movie would have made a killing if they included polar bears and a giant mechanical spider

Yeah, DC is fucking dead. Won't see a decent film in our lifetime, sadly. And all the DC fans out there are stupid ignorant pathetic virgin cucks who will continue to suck the semen out of WB's cock, so nothing will change.

DC fans are so fucking stupid. Even they want change, but they're part of the problem... hell, they ARE the problem. Weak willed geeks, stand up for what you believe in instead of pretending the shit they're shoving in your face tastes good.

Yeah, everyone gives Alan (Watchmen, V for Vendetta) Moore shit due to his stance on the movies based on his comics. He refuses to let his name be on them, he refuses to see them, and he refuses to take any of the royalty money.

Then you find out that the real reason is because most of his properties are handled by a dipshit producer called Don Murphy, famous for producing the first two Transformers movies and getting punched by Quentin Tarantino

>giant mechanical spider
But user

Guardians of the Galaxy were nothing before the movie

bump

Nice trips

This is even funnier when you realize the fighter jet scenes in GL were fucking garbage(terrible cgi, even for the time) and weren't anywhere near as good as the chase scene in Iron Man.

>Like a cross between Batman and Top Gun

>Good movie = good box office
No, user. Marketing = box office. The quality of the movie is irrelevant. The highest grossing movies tend to be forgettably mediocre if not downright bad.

bamp

I read it. It just serves as yet another case-in-point for what a hero Zack Snyder truly is and how every last one of you can fuck off and die for not recognizing a good thing when you had it. The man had a vision, a taught, well-thought-out narrative and world-building being conducted in a subtle, interconnected way that actually made it a part of the plot. Instead of caring enough to give it the slightest chance, you bought into the narrative being pushed by a bunch of pseuds, normies who don't know shit about comics, sjws with a hate-boner for a guy they're too stupid to understand, and quite possibly corporate shills smearing the competition.

This is the world you made. Now get your bucket of bread and buy your ticket for Act 18 of the endless, soulless circus.

Post moar

Ant-man and GotG are the true z tier heroes, but dr strange is close as a c tier

>and the Sony emails

I will never forget how fucking stupid Amy Pascall is. No matter how many years go by.

>antje

Lick a dick.

Holy shit, that is brilliant. Great insight into the clowns behind movies and further evidence that cronyism and nepotism has destroyed Hollywood. Guy becomes a fucking producer of multi million dollar movies with past credentials of Barbara Streisand's hairdresser. Insane.

He struck again!

>Uhhhhhhh

These guys are fucking morons. It's so clear they have no idea what they're talking about.

Please be pasta

i cant believe they get people to see shit tier superheroes like ant-man, gaurdians and black panther. no one read those comics

>a taught, well-thought-out narrative
What did he teach?

Not complaining but isn't this the second time you've posted this thread? I remember posting it and saying that this reminded me of Kevin Smith Superman story with the giant spider.

>ywn get a proper movie for age of apocalype

...

>let Snyder do his job
Snyder is a style-over-substance-with-basic-symbolism hack even when he is given control

...

>Ant-Man
>Shit tier
You take that back right fucking now you waste of human space

You're right to an extent. Marketing can give a good movie the edge to be financially great, and bad films financially passable. But you can't argue that after like 17 movies that have ALL been #1 at box office, ALL received "fresh" ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, IE, critically well received, and are STILL churning out more films with each subsequent film receiving more money, that Marvel/Disney isn't on the right track.

good to know that people at WB go on deviantart and look at plane r34
