Makers are going more for the comic route than the original, which is great! Artstyle is passable and voices are good even if nephews sound clearly too old. Overall I'm pretty hyped for this.

I don't like the art style at all but is what we gonna have and I can't do better so I hope for a good lore.

I actually like it.

>What's your blood type?

Wow, getting us started down that path quick, aren't they?

Heaven or hell, Sup Forums.

>tfw I've never got around to reading the original comics and I don't really remember much about the original show

Last threas was as follows:

>voices are different
>Launchpad is perfect
>hawklady with sword already has porn
>kids sound more like quirky 20-somethings
>dem Barks homages
>nephews have personalities now (Louie is the team asshole)
>animation/designs are a little off for some people
>concerns that Webby might be too "perfect" - worst case scenario is that she's Mabel v2
>GLOMGOLD, GYRO, MAGICA, ROCKERDUCK AND BEAGLE BOYS CONFIRMED FOR BRAWL

Do we know who voices him? I really want it to be DiMaggio

>>GLOMGOLD, GYRO, MAGICA, ROCKERDUCK AND BEAGLE BOYS CONFIRMED FOR BRAWL
Sauce?

As long as Scrooge, Launchpad and Donald carry it I'm fine with it.

Tennant is still the best casting they could have got he could have tried sounding older but regardless he's fantastic, then again I've seen him perform before so I'm a bit bias.

Was there any speculation in previous threads as to what this might be about?

Especially after the "You used to be a big deal" comment it could be referring to Young's death and what it meant to the series.

Also you faggots better have got the game

>>nephews have personalities now (Louie is the team asshole)
Huey seems to be the smart kid that carries the guidebook around and Louie seems to be the tough kid that loves adventure. Louie is an asshole, but also a smug, lazy and greedy.

That he could making more money through making sound investments than glob trotting for treasure?

>think about reading Uncle Scrooge
>There's 412 issues

Get to it then

He didn't get to be smarter than the smarties by being lazy

Glomgold got fat.

I wonder if any other Doctor Who actors will voice anything. It would be fun.

to be fair, Glomgold literally looked like Scrooge with beard.

I'll do it eventually, I've got other stuff I want to read as well, but I do all this in my spare time (spend most of my time working on a project). Trying to finish rewatching Samurai Jack before the 11th. My "To Read/watch/play" list is ridiculously huge

>ROCKERDUCK
Not happening. Only Europeans care about him.

I heard Lunchpad is gay in this one.

Ooh, I missed that. No idea what it is, but they'd better break my heart when they do reveal it...
It's in my Steam Library, but I'll get to it after I finally complete Lego Batman 1...

Tom Baker would be a laugh - he doesn't do nearly enough voice acting. Sylvester McCoy and Peter Capaldi would be good as Scrooge's ancestors, given that they're also Scottish.
This guy is my new favourite cartoon showrunner

He has plans for Rockerduck

t.

Deepest lore confirmed. Calling it now

>This guy is my new favourite cartoon showrunner
You know right? I think I'm in love after he said they follow the Rosa canon for Scrooge's backstory.

>he said they follow the Rosa canon for Scrooge's backstory.
Phew lad
This is getting serious

"The Three Cabballeros Ride Again" arc when?

Interesting. This will be the first time Rockerduck really does anything in American media.
I personally always prefered him over Glomgold. Glomgold is a heartless miser, basically Scrooge if he were evil, which is fine. Rockerduck contrasts Scrooge in a different way, he was born rich and has no problem spending his money and flauting his wealth frivolously. He's not as evil as Glomgold, but he doesn't mind breaking the law to get what he wants which is usually beat Scrooge at challenges.
Glomgold and Scrooge are bitter enemies while Rockerduck and Scrooge are more like rivals that are ocasionally almost frenemies.

I wish. That would make a potential Darkwing Duck reboot all the better.

:( This looks so bad. I wish they would've used an art style like the classic animation and just recycle the old opening music. Ducktales Oooo noooo

>follow the Rosa canon for Scrooge's backstory.
Kind of hard to do in a modern setting.

Has anyone asked him about Donald's sister?

Actually looks really good

Della Duck has always been a problem, story-wise, for the simple reason that there's no way to reintroduce her that isn't really depressing (why did she leave her children for so long?) or just plain silly (a Swedish comic just had her be in space for a long time)

Nope but when asked about Scrooge's sisters he said they have to establish some other Ducks/McDucks first. Della might be one of those but I kinda doubt it, IMO she will only get a mention.

>Legitimate question: why in the world was he not John D. Rockerfeather? Or Duckerfeather, even?
That's a very good question

Donald's mother presents similar problems. It's why Rosa had to use her sister Matilda instead in "The Old Castle's Other Secret or A Letter from Home".

They'd probably establish Grandma Duck, Gladstone and Gus Goose first.

I only just noticed I accidentally fucked up the name and subject. Great newfagging.

I don't think you can really touch on any of the lineage of the main Disney characters (mickey, donald, etc.) without opening a huge can of worms. I don't think they've ever gone into the subject of the main cast's parents or even siblings for the most part.

Doesn't Mickey have a sister and two nephews?

So then what is Dewey like?

>worst case scenario is that she's Mabel v2
Mabel isn't a bad character, though. It's just a meme that people have come to hate her, but when you actually watch the show, you realise she is well balanced out.

She has yet to make an animation appearance, and I don't think she's appeared in more than a handful of comics.

would you?

Oops, meant to say that Dewey is a tough kid that loves adventure.

Have it for PS3, Xbox360/Xbone, and Wii U.

Just read the Backs and Rosa stuff, then go read the others when you are really bored.
Personally I don't care for the stories that put Scrooge in modern times.

>would you?

So hard it'd knock her gloves off.

and meant Barks, of course.

>tfw I've never got around to reading the original comics
DO IT

DO IT NOW

Did someone say ducktales?

www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/110589

I started readin Life and Times in English for the first time to catch all the original jokes!

Everybody from Disney has nephews - there was even a (South American?) comic that was nothing but stories about all the damn nephews.

Where do I start?

Is there a handy list of what issues those are?
Is there also Donald Duck stuff I need to read?

Oh look. They took Duck Takes and made into the same old bland crap every other mediocre cartoon is nowadays. Pass.

Louie is best boy

This post has the links where you can find whichever story of Barks and Rosa.

I would recommend The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck of Don Rosa even though it has ton of Barks references.

...

...

>The 'Negaduck switches places with Darkwing and tries to ruin his relationships with his kid and....sidekick...???' episode

>The 'Binky and Herb Muddlefoot takes over Launchpad and Drake's Big Gay Wedding plans' episode

>The 'Gosalyn and Drake ask Launchpad to add his signature to her adoption papers' episode

I'm okay with this.

It kind of reminds me of Gravity Falls

Apparently there's some GF staff working on the show.

There's no clearer guide out there is there?

Barks created Rockerduck for a single story as a throw-away villain. Frankly, not a lot of thought was really put into him other then that first story. It was the Europeans that used him more and made him a Scrooge Villain.

GF was just Ducktales with humans.

"A group of siblings visit their greedy uncle and get caught up in supernatural shenanigans."

...

It would explain why he hates Morgana so much.

Actually when they moved in next to the Muddlefoots, do you think they just sort of...assumed that Drake and LP were a thing? I mean, two guys living together with an adopted daughter? You'd just assume that, right?

Do you think they were confused as fuck when they met Morgana? Thought she was a beard? Thought that they were some kind of poly swingers or polygamists? Fascinating really.

>two hour-long specials

Just the premiere and the finale, or do you think we'll get some Lore episodes?

>Disney XD

Going to be cancelled after one season.

Also reminds me too much of Gravity Falls for some reason.

It's already renewed for a second season

>22-minute adventure cartoon

I was never a big duck tales fan, but I'm hype.

Anyone got any recommendations for the comics? Or should I start from the beginning?

Yea or nay on the redone theme song Sup Forums? I think it's lacking in energy compared to the original.

i have bought the android version at least.

>22 minutes

Why? The game has nothing to do with this crappy remake.

Why? Because he thinks he can make DuckTales better than thw team before him? Fuck remakes.

>kids sound more like quirky 20-somethings
I'm willing to let that slide. Most cartoons have wonky voices the first few episodes, it takes awhile for the voice actors to find what feels right for the characters.
And at least the triplets don't all have the same voice anymore.

File me under cautiously optimistic.

Wasn't that kind of the point though? Glomgold being what Scrooge would have become had shame not forced him into seclusion and the boys shocked him back into heroic adventuring?

You already autism'd all over the other Duck Tales thread, don't spread that shit over here.

i'm talking design wise, kinda like how webby was the nephews in drag.

It'd be pretty dark, whatever they do.

The nephews were sent to Donald in the first place because their father was injured somehow and she had to look after him in the hospital. That's the biggest mention she ever got.

That's a fair point for Webby, but Glomgold worked well as Scrooge's evil apartheid reflection.

Not saying I am against a new design, just that there was pottery in the old one.

oh it worked well in a episode where Glomgold even impostered as scrooge in a episode in a effort to frame him.

So they really want this to be their next GF for popularity then. Get ready for some deepest lore

What's going on with Donald's voice? Tony is doing him again in this show, but they have some new guy in this new little kids show. Has Disney explained why he has two voice actors now?

No but it's a decent enough remake

Should I read the comics?

You should have already read the comics.

based Frank

I like the artstyle
the triplet's voices aren't great but they're passable and they might get better or not be as bad in the actual show
I probably won't care after a few episodes anyway

Italian, specifically.
Because early Italian Scrooge was basically Glomgold-lite(as he wasn't simply cheap but actually GREEDY), ANOTHER rich old miser was thought being superfluous, so they used Rockerduck as stand-in for the Nouveau Riches.

>22 min
Perfect. Especially since we know how anything less feels like

ugh, calArts attack again

dropped

Might just be a background version used for the trailer, but if it's going to be a part of the actual opening, it needs some sort of horn section.

He sounds like Spitelout.

I have basically zero concerns. This is gonna be awesome.

I'm surprised they're making this cartoon, seeing how anti-business US society is today.

The thing I've always respected about Scrooge as a kid was how despite his failures and hardships, he persisted to finally attain the fortune he richly deserved. And he did it fair and square. He really is the American Dream personified.

This is probably the best advice I ever heard from a show:
"Work smarter NOT harder."
