good thread faggot

Waiting for info about "dark Universe" future.
I think Kurtzman and Morgan leaving is good sign. They probably wouldn't kill it now, after spending so much into marketing.
"The Mummy" maybe returned profit, but "Dark Universe" marketing was costly. Killing it now will make "The Mummy" a complete flop.

Isn't this dead? They should have picked a less known actor for the protagonist. I couldn't help but thinking of him as Tom Cruise in an average Ton Cruise movie. It's a shame cause the mummy was hot. Should've ended with her winning

no more mummy gf

Cruise literally saved movie from commercial point. In it's current state, without Cruise wouln't even do 200M worldwide.
Safe bet was the only reason for taking Tom.
>And the film is expected to do the majority of its business abroad, where Cruise continues to be a major draw. The Mummy will open day-and-date in more than 60 markets, including China.
>box-office analyst Paul Dergarabedian. "If you look at [Universal's] Fate of the Furious, 80 percent of its box office came from international. Tom Cruise is an international superstar, and he remains so.
Since "Fast and Furious", Universal takes more global-like strategy.

Yes I like remakes instead of new stories thank you.

Pic related it's OP

I want more the Mummy. Maybe make a show for Amazon or Netflix where she's brought back and sort of middling good. /ourgirl/ gets a nice career, we get boners.

Wasn't it actually new?
Timeline, locations characters and story were completely new. There was no Seth summoning ritual before.

Dark Universe is Dead and that' a Good Thing! Here's Why.

Fucking hell I completely missed this, is this real? Are they doing phases and slates or whatever too?

They wanted to start it off with Dracula Untold, then it bombed. Then with some other bomb, and then finally now with the Mummy, but the Mummy didn't do well enough for anyone to take notice.

Fuck, we only watched it for the mummyfu, and got horribly cucked as did she.

Phase 1: try to start this with Dracula Untold
Phase 2: try to start this again with The Mummy
Phase 3: ????

I am totally looking for the new kino Trailer with Wrong Sound.
Spooky and mesmerizing.

Oh ok. Thanks, I didn't know they were connected

Sofia Boutella is currently working on "Fahrenheit 451" for HBO.
>imdb.com/title/tt0360556/
That's right. Movie is totally new take, having nothing common with previous one beside 1 short easter-egg shot.
You can complain about flaws, as there are - not denying. But can't say they copied previous ones.
Reminds me Star Wars butthurt:
Prequels:
>REEEEE it's not the same as 20 years ago
Nu-Wars/Sequels:
>REEEEE it's the same as 30 years ago

Nice trips. I'm not sure they are connected? The plan was to do another cinematic universe, but the most we got was Dr. Jekyll in the Mummy and his collection of monster artifacts. A new Van Helsing would be great, but I wonder if people are sick to their stomachs with vampire schlock.

NuWars is making us reevaluate and come to terms with the prequels.

I have re-watched the prequels recently.

They are still shit.

>NuWars is making us reevaluate and come to terms with our lives.

Fixed that for you.

Universal has been trying to bring these monsters together since like 2004.
"Van Helsing", with Jackman (originally was supposet to be Tom Cruise) is probably earliest XXI century cinema attempt to connect this, it had:
>Dracula
>Frankenstein
>Wolf
>Jekyll/Hyde
>mysterious monster fighting organization Van Helsing was working for - pra-pra Prodigium concept?
Movie underperformed Box Office and got panned critically.
Later Marvel started with re-freshed shared universes idea, so Universal tried too. Without success.
"The Mummy" moden day reboot was announced in 2012.

Universal probably gonna drop shared universe idea and bring monster movies just under "Dark Universe" logo.
They tried to do this since so long time, failing so many times, that I doubt "The Mummy" case gonna be any different.

Best thing to come out of this whole venture was the 2d contra/metroidvania shooter by Way Forward. Mummy Demastered I think

Why not just get Guillermo Del Toro to make it? They won't be successful but they should at least be good.

Played it? I heard some good words about. Worth a try? Maybe Steam gonna have black friday sales soon.
Thats current thing, Universal gonna probably hire better writers and more dedicated directors.

I like it. Feels like Contra

dracula untold isnt in the dark universe baby, they gona do another drac movie

Its a bad metroidvania. a decent contra

There is 1 huge problem with it.
Why someone thought players would want to kill mummyfu.
Haha that pic is exactly what I mean, great edit.

Is it even related to movie?
What does Ahmanet do, she's a boss or something?

I really dont get why everyone hated The Mummy, it was perfectly fine

It wasn't perfect, but at least tried something new instead DAMN FUCKING 80s-90s NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD!

desu the only reason I even kinda wanna see this is cause of Tom.
that manlet is always great in movies, even if thr movie itself isn't great.

correct answer, don't forget to see Mission: Impossible 6, 27 July 2018 in 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D

I love her. Can't stop thinking about her. All the time been laughing at these waifufags and now karma got me. Feels bad.
Please help.
