This weekend I actually watched Spider-man 1 and 2. Did anyone else do this? Is Sup Forums absorbing me into the hivemind?

Anyway, watching them I was struck at how distinct they look and feel, how many chances were taken in the editing, the stylistic choices and cinematography. And how authentic the movies feel, as if there were actual directors/screenwriters/artists behind the creative effort, rather than a room of studio executives going by what the market research deems adequate to create forgettable, generic, bland McDonald's capeshit.

Spider-man 1 and 2 are my most favorite films of all time. Back when I was a kid I used to get bullied a lot in school. People always telling me I'd never amount to anything. Watching these films made me feel like Peter was the father I never had. A role model I never had to look up to. That even in the face of adversity that even I can still fight, as long as I believe in myself. These films saved me from suicide. It sounds silly, but these were my saving grace to keep on.

Unfortunately a lot of people let the third film ruin their perception of the first two.
