GENERATIONS SYNOPSIS

>Once upon a time, a skinny kid from New York City picked up a shield and charged into battle... a prodigal son lifted a sacred hammer and proved himself worthy... and an arrogant genius forged an armor that would harness his true potential. And together, they became Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Today, that heroic legacy lives on in the next generation of heroes - and it will be put to the test as the Marvel Universe's greatest champions unite and charge headlong into tomorrow!

>champions

bitch you ain't DC

Where is Rachel Summers who is suppose to be the legacy of Jean Grey?

Again i hate or have not strong opinion on 75% of all these legacy characters with the exception of Kamala and Kate who i like.

>X-Men
lol

This "synopsis" literally reveals nothing

>lol x-men

for some reason laura and jean are there.

This smells like an event.

Who will be Magog?

I want to know how Alex Ross feels about all his modern Marvel cover work. I hope it keeps him up at night, depressed, wondering where he went wrong.

I think it's more likely to be a mini. Maybe six issues to tell a story about legacy.

So we're really doing this huh

Kingdom Come 2.0: Marvel Edition

Why? What part of Kingdom Come hasn't been played out to death in one Marvel story or another?

>the joy he had drawing that top row
>the pure agony as he drew the second row

Robbie Reyes. He is edgy and kills people. And he has glowing eyes

I like Laura.

And I think the one for Jean is, maybe, hope? I can see them writing something between teen Jean Gray and Hope (yeah, not Rachel).

...

He's still getting a paid to do these covers, I doubt he cares.

Did any of those have all these cool new young minority characters?

>NOT MUH
I'm sure Ross has better things to think about

>implying he's ever truly cared about Marvel
He's a DCfan to the core.

So it's an Avengers book featuring Champions and likely written by Waid. Pass.

I dont like laura being wolverine, she was her own character and now she has to carry the mantle because?

>the words "YAS QUEEN" constantly ring in his head, eating away his sanity

Dude refused to draw Dick Grayson as Nightwing and Kyle Rayner at all for years.

>Teen Jean for Jean
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FUCK JEAN FUCK HER FUCK THE O5 KIDS, FUCK THEM ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE PAST!

Miles has been shoved everywhere

>Jean Grey is drawn in her Phoenix outfit
Sigh, I hate how that's the only thing people associate her with.

Nigger he was triggered by having to draw Kyle Rayner, he's definitely the kind of person to go not muh.

eww.

Kristoff Vernard

why have Rachel take over Jean's legacy when you can just have Jean take over Jean's legacy

Who?

That really doesn't tell me much about the book other than sounding like it'll focus more on the bottom row instead of the top row.

>Book about newer generations picking up the mantle of older heroes
>Uses the younger past version of one of the heroes from the top row instead of someone else
>Literally uses a character that was solely made because a writer had a nostalgia boner for the classics instead of an actual successor

This is just sad and pathetic.

Doom's son?

Could be way worse, user.

I still are confident on Waid's ability to put a well written story about legacy. And there're not many teenagers this time, apparently: they are mostly tween, aren't they?

>hurr durr kingdom come
This is literally nothing like Kingdom Come you buncha retards.

Doctor Doom's adopted son and heir who was once brainwashed by his Doombots into thinking he was Doom and thus has his intellect and most of his memories. He was literally intended to be Doctor Doom's legacy.

Champions is aggressively bad. I don't think Waid has any capability to write well with these characters.
Also, I don't think anyone in the bottom row is a tween.

Didn't know. Thanks.

>TT

Kingdome Come was "Mark Waid hates Generation X." This is "Mark Waid loves Generation Z."

...

Fuck you.

I don't think that Waid hates all legacies. I always felt that KC was anti 90s anti heroes and not anti legacy.

Can we just get him back at D.C. Rebirth is missing his glorious cover art

What? Waid is currently dicksucking current legacies, it's Alex Ross we were saying that hates all legacies.

>champions
>waid
No thanks. I'll pass.

At least we got Tim Sale

>We will never get an Alex Ross painted cover of the current Superman family (Superdad, Jon, Kara, Krypto, Kenan).
Why live?

This, the whole legacy heroes thing is DC's shtick and it works better for them.

His Rebirth covers are good but it feels like he's half assing some of them

...

He DGAF he's an extreme DCfag which is why this isn't triggering him at all.

Why Jean Grey? She's not even a legacy character, she's literally a time displaced self.

I don't know either, I'll just blame Bendis.

Too bad it never actually sticks with DC though

>And an arrogant genius forged an armor that would harness his true potential

This is the thing I hate the most. Makes me think of how Iron Man used to be before the concentrated effort to make him a RDJ impersonator.

At least not with the big names, but it comes and goes. We have what, 3 legit Flashes, 2 legit Batman, 5 Robins, and 4 Superboys? Lanterns have built-in story reason to have legacies

Most of the legacies goes onto adopt new monikers any way like Dick Robin -> Dickbats -> Nightwing, Jason Robin -> Red Hood, and Roy Speedy -> Arsenal

I bet if Miles gets any name other than Spider-Man people won't have nearly as much problem with him as is right now

dropped

Oh boy, Champions 2.0! I can wait for more 'How do you do, fellow kids' writing from Waid...

I wonder how badly Waid will write the young adults.

fpbp

>Carol front and center

At this point I really think they're just in denial

So Jean passing on to the new generation is herself from the past of an older generation who is also the new generation ?

...

>We don't care about Hank or Janet
Well fuck you too

KC had nothing to do with legacies, though. More than half the cast was legacy characters.

I haven't read KC in years. From what I remember the new generation were a bunch of edgefest OC's featuring Captain Marvel.

It probably wasn't though and I just didn't know enough characters back then or something

>Big Strong Bulky Hulky in the back
>Tiny manlet Hulk right below him

...

Thank you. I couldn't find the gif

Yeah, they were obvious stand-ins for 90s and Image OCs, with Magog being a dead ringer for Cable.

...

Is it wrong if the thing that bothers me the most about that is the fact that past Jean is there?

No

Is it wrong if the thing that bothers me the most about that is the fact Dick Rider is wearing his old Nova outfit?

Yes considering most of them are wearing old outfits.

>Neo Marvel Kingdom Come inciting event is Gabe getting killed by criminals while he and Robbie visit New York
>Robbie goes completely insane and he and Eli embark on a high-speed global killing spree jihad on the wicked
>in under an hour, faster than anyone can respond: mobs, terrorist cells, cults, warlords, pirates, and secret societies worldwide are decapitated and neutered by this unfettered Ghost Rider.
>he's only stopped after an emergency convergence of superheroes more or less dogpiles him while the mystics do their work to neutralize him. Robbie is heavily injured and arrested by SHIELD
>but the damage is done. Tens of thousands are dead
>world at large is divided by the issue
>one side says that it proves that costumed heroes can't be trusted as there's a danger of them going too far
>the other claims that costumed heroes aren't going far enough and that more ought to follow Robbie's example

Wouldn't work, blaze and ketch would wreck his shit before it got to that. He's just a angry ghost, he's NOT a spirit of vegeance.

>all those hands

So Alex Ross didn't draw nightwing because of the kryptonian one?

Fucking kek

Is this series gonna reveal why Parker was shocked after he googled Miles Morales at the end of Spider-Men?

I promise you nobody at Marvel remembers that

>implying anyone at Marvel remembers that

No one but Claremont and to a lesser extent Brubaker gives a shit about Rachel Summers.

Rachel remember, was a one-off character who wasn't even supposed to be on DOFP after Jean was killed off (Claremont kept her in the script/removed all reference of her being Jean/Scott's kid).

As soon as Claremont was gone from Marvel in the 90s, Rachel was put on the bus to outer space and only brought back by Alan Davis because fans kept demanding her return to Excalibur. Scott Lobdell then shipped her off to the future to get rid of her/killed her off in Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix again, until she was brought back to the present right before Claremont came back to the X-Men in the 00s, at which point he brought her back and used her heavily in UXM.

Brubaker's run jetisoned her again in space and aside from warehousing her at Wolverine's school, no one really wants to touch her to the point that Guggenheim's current planned rebranding of her as PRestigue was greenlighted simply because no one at editorial gives a shit about her

Correct

>No one... gives a shit about Rachel Summers.
I do :(

>it's a "our teen heroes are really good we swear please buy their books" event

Desperation events are the best events

So why isn't Moon Girl standing in front of her predecessor? Oh right, he was a monkey...

It does with some and with the ones that don't they get their own identities or they get to shine without being in their predecessor's shadow.

Generations: Fuck You Monica And Beta Ray Bill Fans

Do you prefer Daken ad new Wolverine?

All dozen of them right? I actually do like Bill, but I'd never consider him some legacy character to Thor, the fact that he has his own hammer and his own name is proof of that. I don't give a fuck about Monica though, she was alright in Nextwave, but that was literally it.
