This was such a typical coming of age movie, and Greta Gerwig has outed herself as boring and shallow. The movie's like a love letter to herself, and not in the interesting, psychotic way that a Vincent Gallo movie is. I cannot understand why this movie is getting so much praise.

fuck off retard that user is correct. the mother and the mother-daughter dynamic on screen is the only thing that is amazing about the movie. greta did a great job in that portrayal but couldn't do the same with all the other characters. instead we get generic and uninspired characters, plots, relationships, messages etc. mumbleslut needs to try again with something more ripe. i am sure that by everyone licking her boot she will likely fall for the same trap again.

It's painfully easy to relate to many aspects of the story, the way they dealt with the idea of depression in the film was also fantastic.
