I mean, I guess anything is possible for Who, and if Kate met the War Doctor then they could find a way for her to meet the War Master, and iirc there's nothing to say Kate and Osgood didn't meet either the Master or the Cybermen before Death in Heaven (as I understand it these audios are supposed to be between Power of Three and Day of the Doctor until further notice), they'd certainly be familiar with them.
I for one wonder if this means the Cybermen had anything to do with the war or if this is just the Master avoiding it like Eight's appearance in the River Song Diaries. Not gonna lie, it would be sweet to hear him somehow find out about Harold Saxon through this.
