So what kind of drugs was Jim Carrey on during the filming of Man on the Moon?

I'M PUSHING AN ELEPHANT UP THE STAIRS

I'M TOSSING UP PUNCH LINES THAT WERE NEVER THERE.

fantastic R.E.M. song, listened to it over 1000+ according to my media player

That part about his dad failing despite giving up his own dreams hit me hard, desu

I'M BREAKING THROUGH I'M BENDING SPOONS

>Executive Producer: Tony Clifton

Obviosly none.

Carey still refuses medication for his schizophrenia.

Thats his art; being mental on stage. He felt he was channeling Kaufman throughout.

>when your iq is 80 yet you try to use big boy words

I nearly cringed into a spasm watching Andy's family visit the set

>Andy painstakingly planned out Lawler run-ins and treated him with respect and demanded respect himself
>this was part of what made it so funny

>Carrey just decides to treat him like an asshole

What a genius

Holy shit I did not expect to have feelings like this watching.

>Carrey: LOL LOOK GUYS I'M ACTING JUST LIKE ANDY!
>King: Andy didn't act like tha-
>Carrey: FUCK YOU LAWLER! I'M ANDY! WOO!

Mark.

Someome post one of the uncomfortable Danny DeVito reactions from this kino, Netflix is blocking mobile screencaps now

god I hate that so much

I’m so sick of Jim Carrey. Having to live through both his comedic and serious parts, I thought he was finally done and over with.
Now I have to live through his deep face.

Didn't Man on the Moon kill Milos' career?

I don't even get it really

Andy Kaufman is overrated.
He's worst character on Taxi after Tony Danza and Jeff Conaway.

>Carey still refuses medication for his schizophrenia.
Is he schizo?

More like he has look at me disease. Most women suffer from it all their lives

he's reaching Manson levels of woke

So the guy who directed this made American Movie. Is that any good?

>I'm not a big believer in free will either

What did he mean by this?

He's a proponent of philosophical determinism is likely what he meant.

THEY PUT MAN ON THE MOON

MAN ON THE MOON

Cocaine most likely.
Anyway, pretty good doc. I don't get the Netflix hate here, they provide nice things.

When Carrey in-character tells everyone he has cancer I almost broke my teeth out of cringe.

The part where he's talking about meeting Andy's daughter made me really uncomfortable desu senpai

They talked privately for an hour.

While In character the sick fuck

DMT

That shit was heavy
Carrey gave that role his everything and yeah he won a globe, but otherwise it was basically ignored - performing much worse than his previous films. I think the film kind of killed him

The thing that got me most about it was realising that he was "right". He might act like a cringey pretentious idiot, but he's allowed to. He has everything he could ever want except the chance to be 'normal'. All he really wants is people to like him and to be able to relax

>>Andy painstakingly planned out Lawler run-ins and treated him with respect and demanded respect himself
>>this was part of what made it so funny
Are you fucking retarded? No one knew that Lawler was in on it until a decade after Kaufman's death. The humour came from the ridiculousness of the situation

Literally zero. How is it you don't grasp "shitty method acting"?

She chose to talk to him, and Carrey didn't record it or make a pr stunt out of it.
It was clearly the daughter's attempt to connect with her dead father and get some closure. People do all sorts of weird things for the same reasons. Carrey just humoured her

Is this documentary as cringey and pretentious as the trailer made it out to be?

Far worse. Essential viewing.
