>should have been 8 episodes of him killing gang bangers and pedo's
>instead it's a boring 13 episode soyboy fantasy
How did Marlel fuck this up so bad?
Should have been 8 episodes of him killing gang bangers and pedo's
I couldn't get through the first episode, and I endured every Punisher film up until now
>the Punisher movie with the best Punisher was a massive flop because of it's shitty story
>Make a new Punisher with an even worse actor and even worse story to set up the plot that tanked the last movie
Jesus Christ.
>It's an all veterans are fucked up psycho terrorists episode
Gun grabbing 4x2s can't make their agenda any more ibvious
>4x2
What?
It was just boring, and for some reason Punisher spent most of his time getting his ass kicked. I thought he was supposed to be good at gunfights but he gets shot in like every episode.
The best part was Ruso getting his face shredded.
Why couldn't we have gotten a Frank like pic related? Instead we got this whiny grunty, faggot instead.
I like Jon Bernthal as actor but he was wrong for this role.
I thought you guys were memeing when you called it a soyboy production, but holy shit this was gay.
>replay the "wake up sleepy head" every episode, sometimes multiple times, pretty much any time Frank is waking up
his wife died we got it
Maybe they could spent less time on edgy sex scenes and more time on edgy violence. Just a thought.
Marflix obviously thought people didn't actually want Punisher while making their Punisher show so instead they made a 24/Homeland crossover using Punisher names. I actually liked the show overall, the Frank/Micro face-to-face episode was great, but it just wasn't Punisher. They could have done a dramatic character study without fucking up the characters entirely.
They stop after they reveal it's a nightmare Frank has of killing his wife. Which is really fucking bad storytelling because they muddle it by telling the viewer how his family died during a picnic. We know the picnic death is canon, but they portray the murder in the house as something that happened.
Also the whole "maybe I really did kill my family, it was my fault" thing gets dropped and he just gets revenge anyway so what was the point?
I'm not some Punisher expert, but thinking that his family's death was somehow his fault does not seem like a thought Frank would entertain.
wtf is soyboy?
it's just the new word people are using for effeminate nu-males, implying they have high estrogen from a diet filled with soy.
its the pg13 of insults because cuck makes people feel bad having to think about it. no one feels bad about some strangers diet.
It isn't. Frank has nightmares about the event, but sees himself as completely blameless because the reason why they died was a matter of sad coincidence. It's the fucking reason why he is the Punisher.
Too much soy in your diet will drop testosterone levels. Some guy or boy who consumes too much soy turns into a soyboy/buzzfeed writer
Yeah, like I read that the original creator of the character said Punisher is a guy who no matter what never questions his own morality. He never once stops to think "am I doing the right thing?" he just does it.
So having an entire subplot of him asking "am I the real monster?" seems fucking retarded.
>every fight scene
>punisher starts yelling like an autist
>AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH
couldnt help but laugh everytime
Doesn't that guy eventually take the mask off and show that he is Frank? Like the nightmares are all an allusion to him blaming himself? Pretty sure he's even wearing the same thing as when he executed the cop, and kills the wife in the exact same way. Which just shows how fucking little they understand what Punisher is.
It makes sense for Frank in the show to blame himself, but not actual Frank. The original point of the Punisher is that it was senseless violence. There was no grand conspiracy, no figurehead to blame and take revenge against, just getting caught in the crossfire of mob violence, which is why he autistic-ally dedicates his life to cleaning up.
>Netflix will never have the balls to make a scene like this
>boring 13 episode soyboy fantasy
>soyboy
that has no meaning to everyone else, or what that implies in terms of what's on the show
what was wrong with the show? haven't had a chance to watch yet
>what was wrong with the show?
As an user above said, it's basically just Homeland/24 with Punisher shoe-horned in, who doesn't actually act like the Punisher. Dumb side plot about Micro's wife and kids. FBI agent lady for some reason playing chicken with Frank. Lots of things are wrong. Ruso was good though.
I turned it off after he shot some spic from across the border
>expect 13 episodes of The Punisher punishing
>get 90% filler, with half of it consisting of the struggles of a muslim woman cop struggling against the white cis male patriarchy
Well that sounds horribly disappointing
Was hoping for something way more street level
He does a little bit of normal Punisher style street-level cleanup in the first few episodes but as soon as that's over it's on to busting a grand conspiracy.
What bothers me the most is that Punisher/Frank is just portrayed as basically a regular Special Forces dude. He gets into fights with other Special Forces dudes and sometimes they kick his ass, so he's just like a regular marine basically? He gets shot and fucked up left and right, the only times he gets to act like Punisher is when he's up against some random thugs and ambushes them.
soyboy is the new word for cuck/numale/sjw/libtard/literally anyone you don't agree with
why couldn't it be more like this?
It was an alright show but I thought to myself "Yeah this is what the punisher is".
I didn't take it away from that. I felt the whole gun issue was kind of forced, but in the end it made the gun-grabbing senator look like a total coward and a hypocrite. Karen is presented as a level-headed character and she carries a gun. When asked by him why she carries she says for protection and he claims that society should provide protection. She gives him a look because he says that as he's surrounded by a bunch of armed PMCs. He also gets ripped up on the talkshow.
It just felt like they threw in a bunch of stereotypes. The fat slop passing out NRA pamphlets and bitching about Jews controlling the internet and the PTSD guy who was bombing innocent people felt like it came from an episode of Law and Order SVU. It felt even more like that because the female agent felt like more of a main character than the Punisher himself. She wasn't so bad except for there was too much of her and she kept having to tell people that she considered herself American but was Persian, okay we fucking get it.
It felt more like the show should have been called Cucked by Castle, since the weirdo computer guy was watching on webcam as the Punisher was bringing his wife flowers and drinking wine with her, and it was obvious she wanted to fuck him the second time he showed up and fixed her dishwasher or whatever. Also, very little action.
The dumbest fucking part was when FBI lady is chasing Frank and decides to stare him down in a game of chicken. What the hell was that about?
>It felt more like the show should have been called Cucked by Castle, since the weirdo computer guy was watching on webcam as the Punisher was bringing his wife flowers and drinking wine with her, and it was obvious she wanted to fuck him the second time he showed up and fixed her dishwasher or whatever. Also, very little action.
This was literally 'weird', like i'm going to assume someone was jerking off while writing all the 'Micro gets cucked' parts
...
I thought the car chase scene was pretty cool until that part. I even laughed when her boss said she went all Steve McQueen because as I was watching them drive around I was thinking of the movie Bullitt.
I think everything could have been forgiven if it just had more violence.
It was just so dumb because she's supposed to be a professional, chasing down a suspect, and instead she decides to engage him in a game of chicken and even smirks before revving her engine
Like "yeah, I'm gonna do this, this will be awesome". What was she thinking?
>>the Punisher movie with the best Punisher
remind me which one this was
umm excuse me she's AMERICAN
It's just a show man, you'll enjoy it more if you turn you're brain off
Dolph Lundgren, obviously.
>Being surprised Netflix turned the character who’s power is “I have a lot of big scary guns and won’t hesitate to use them” into The Pozzisher
I think it was supposed to show that she was a bad ass just like Frank, and now he has someone that thinks like him after him. That's what I thought, but I could be wrong.
That's just it, I'm the kind of person that usually can turn off my brain and enjoy stupid shit. I'm easily pleased but even I thought that scene was glaringly retarded.
>Netflix
so let me guess, all the criminals were white?
bingo
Yeah I just saw it as a weird bonding moment between them
>RUUUAAAAAAHHHHS at you
Lotta fucking stabbing
this, the Tom Jane movie was a lot more enjoyable imo, and the garth ennis MAX comics will always be top tier punisher
Yes that was the intent. But in reality it was all pure shit.
What high level and high talent government agent parks their SUPER flashy muscle car in front of the "secret" surveillance van in a part of town you wouldn't expect to find either at that time of night. And then take that car to play chicken with some supposedly low level arms dealer?
Strangely, Bernthal claims to have based most of his interpretation of the character on this film.
>Frank keeps letting tied-up people get the drop on him
>mfw people are still pretending this wasn't a great series
>Another character titled Netflix Marvel series that revolves around uninteresting and shit side characters
I enjoyed the whole series, but then again I don't hate women or anyone non-white
sounds like this isn't the place for you
have some faith, we'll help him see the light
>grr
>rawr
>raaahh
>ooh
>GRRRRAAAAWRGH
>RARGH
>Yeah?
>ROOOARGH
>Yeah?
He is a really shitty actor and this is without doubt the worst portrayal of the character.
I was here before we all had problems with women and muslims, I'll be damned if people born in the 90s will force me off this site
hey man, we're just trying to help
He murders beaners at the start and straight up murders a woman who you'd expect him to spare cause of MUH PC
I guess portraying a muslim in a positive light annoyed everyone too much
there is no stopping the storm. we are legion
*grunts*
*paces back and forth*
*mumbles*
OUAAAAAAAAAAHGH
anyone notice when he's doing one of his little speeches that he darts his head around all over the place? the fuck is that about.
I'm really hoping this season was just to establish the broship between Micro and Frank so next season is just the 2 of them going after pedo rings and the cartels.
Most pedo rings in the US are powerful white people so I doubt it
I was hoping the government conspiracy thing was set up to be the end boss, and that they'd work their way up a shit list of scumbags, fishing for intel needed to track down the real bad guys in Washington D.C.
>I was here before we all had problems with women and muslims
You were on Sup Forums before the Battle of Tripoli?
Thomas Jane will always be the best punisher
>She cared more about some moo-slam than hundreds of highly destructive guns getting on the streets of America
Hahahaha.
See here
medium.com
cuck is becoming too stale for these cunts. Soyboy actually has a nice ring to it though. We will take the word from them and make it ours, fuck you altright scum
I don't care at all about the social justice programming. My specific complaint is Bernthal's performance. I like him generally and think he looks the part, but the constant PTSD shakes and grunting and ungovernable rage are tedious. Nobody behaves like that when coping with grief. And I enjoyed that DHS agent, no matter how "affirmative action" she was. She a cute and pretty plausible.
There was one really standout performance: Ben Barnes as Billy Russo. If you're, as I was, unacquainted with the Russo character, the slow burn to discovering that he was crooked due to his cynicism developed as a child and not his greed was a really pleasing development, and very well-masked by Barnes' charisma.
Yes 99% were. The excuse being a gubmint conspiracy/veterans
>The best part was Ruso getting his face shredded.
didn't even do it well
him getting shot in the face was dumb because it didn't even exit his mouth or take out any of his teeth, it definitely would've done some bad shit
the face grinding on the mirror wasn't even good anyway, it just looked like he was rubbing his face on it and he was overacting
him killing orange was way better
see i didn't care for that him being a bad guy was too fucking obvious it would have been better if his being a bad guy was a fake out like he had no idea that agent orange had anything to do with the death of franks family he was just using the connection to expand his business legitimately
HAHA no.
Yeah, I wish there was more of him cleaning up the streets. I guess he'd actually have to kill minorities then though.
>I guess he'd actually have to kill minorities then though.
ha ha ha ... no, have you ever noticed what muggers and dealers are in tv / movies (almost all white guys) have you noticed what they are in real life (almost all nigs)
The tribe strikes again
>2 hours of him sitting in a fucking apartment getting drunk
Yeah so great.
Then he goes out and fucks with peoples heads, then fills them with bullets. Thomas Jane Punisher was basically a horror movie villain.
I liked his roaring. It made him sound really did make him seem like a rabid dog of war
Who cares what race they are? I just want to see him blast a dude for snatching a lady’s purse
>Then he goes out and fucks with peoples heads, then fills them with bullets
No, then he gets ambushed by a hitman on the street and gets his car wrecked.
Or he gets another hitman that shows up at his apartment and beats the shit out of him, and he has to get saved by his fucking neighbors.
nah his face grinding was authentic, it really sounded like he was in agony compared to other times
Which seems pretty fucking understandable. Can't have Punisher be a god all the time, if he's in a car crash he's gonna be a little fucked up, and if a Russian dude throws him around it's not exactly gonna be fun.
The entire show is about a military conspiracy. Pretty much every single character is in the government, a veteran, or a private military contractor.
There's really nothing about it that's "Punisher" outside of like the first episode, which was a shitty episode anyway. I honestly don't know why they thought fans of the character would like this. It's like a Batman show that focuses entirely on the finances of Wayne Enterprises.
i meant more the screaming he was making compared to what actually happened, his face wasn't even that bad
he made it sound like the skin was coming off his face or something
>Can't have Punisher be a god all the time
Not even half the time. Him drinking and then getting beat up by literally who's is most of the movie. The only time he's actually punishing is when he killed those two guys in the building lobby, and the climax at the end.
Which makes sense, it's an origin film. He isn't really in the swing of things, drinking his depression away and investigating his families death.
That poster makes him look like a dweeb fucking kek!
The last 3 minute fight scene was more Punisher then the entire fucking season. Him grinding that fuckers face down the broken glass was 100% Punisher but they made everything else so fucking boring.
>daredevil opens with nig slaving off women in a container saying I'm gettin a thousand bucks a head fa y'all
>daredevil repeatedly beats him up amd gets him jailed yet he's always back on the streets
>Karen sees first hand how even with a ankle monitor he's free to do crime
>punisher gives his rooftop spiel about hpw what he does is permanent
>punisher meets him and let's him see his face while looking for military equipment
>let's him live
Never felt more ripped off. Fuck this show.
First and foremost, they should have went with the Harry Heck Theme Song from the 2004 Punisher. That is pure Kino-Theme
Patrician detected.
Thank god I'm not the only one who thought this. Love the series but man is the theme absolute dogshit.
I'm already be tired of this "soyboy" shit. Kino was irritating enough but at least it was Sup Forums related.
>He isn't really in the swing of things
The Punisher is always a badass special forces killer, he doesn't need to train or come to terms with his ability. His military background is just the vehicle to explain why he is untouchable to mobster mooks and gang bangers.
It would be like if Superman was only bulletproof half the time, or Batman forgets martial arts whenever he needs to lose. It's a fucking dumb way to illustrate that the character is fallible.
None of your business goyboy
I too shut it off after "muh guns" guy and sassy minority woman calling her boss a sexist racist misogynist etc etc etc.
You can clearly tell that the writers jacking themselves off have never actually interacted in the professional world. Who the fuck talks like this.
