Emily Jean is amazing

Man Like L"Y"J

>I hate realism!

brOOPS!

megaautist needs his degenerate fetishes checked out pronto.

>Elia Kazan
holy middlebrow!

Elia Kazan was a dishonest filmmaker and a traitor.

Elia Kazan is the father of Kubrick. Painfully obvious and thinks his topics make up for the lack of talent

There's already so many posts. Let's draw some of it out for a deeper look, toy with it, take it into a new light with inventive and expressive posting. Freud would suggest doing so as a way to look into our minds.

why would you listen to freud?
he was literally wrong about every single thing

because i hate you

There is no art to a Kazan production just like there is no art to a Kubrick production. Just artifice and teenage flummoxing around humanistic issues and ideas.

A Face in the Crowd and Dr. Strangelove are babby's first satires.

When Kubrick thinks a joke is funny, he repeats it a million fucking times so we don't forget :)

When Kazan thinks he's making a bold statement, he repeats the same image a million fucking times with increasing volume so we don't forget :)

When Megaautist thinks his rhetoric is phat, he repeats the same sentence a million fucking times so we don't forget :)

And the prime reason why John Ford will always be a mediocre pale imitation of Griffith is because he only grasped the superficialities of his content. With Ford, there is always play-like contrivance and centralization, i.e. Stagecoach. With Griffith, paths will most often not cross, but they were linked by editing. That was one of the genius hallmarks of the man, so much so, his works are a separate medium from Ford.

You have to treat morons as such.

things i am thankful for this year:
1) henry cavill's mustache
2) paramount being a petty bitch and not letting him shave it
3) the fact it cost Warner Bros. millions to CGI it out
4) this still

who the heck is Eddie?

>I'm going to give you every single thing your middlebrow sensibilities crave!!
>Yes, my fictional characters are going to literally talk about their feelings!
>Yes, I am challenging you!

dreyer started off as a delivery boy and remained one the rest of his pitiful life.

How do you manage to get into a private tracker when you have 50Kbps of upload speed at best? I don't want to fucking pay for a seedbox and I don't even know what it is and how it works in detail.

I had an AnimeBytes account but it expired because I never used when I could use Bakabt + Nyaa and find everything and I've been using Rutracker + Kickass/Piratebay.

I know I could have an interview on the Bakabt irc or ask on the AnymeBytes irc to reactivate my account but there's still the problem of the upload speed. I can't find good rips for obscure stuff on Rutracker and that tickles my autism, like they still have xvid shit up or they don't even have good rips of famous stuff like the latest Malick movies, I had to download a rip from fucking Piratebay.

I can leave the notebook on to upload alright, my problem has always been the upload speed, they simply won't give it to you in my shit country unless you get some business connection (and infrastructure).

It's not worth it, desu. Just use rutracker or something.

>bruce doesn't understand intolerance

Eddie is the only mortal I've ever loved.

Megaautist likes Eddy because his penis is small enough to fit inside him with ease

What non-mortal have you met in your life bro?

God.

still better than griffith desu desu

...

Emily Jen >>>>> Yahweh > megaautist

...

emily bean

>megaautist masturbates to this
youtu.be/MH_8Wo8DZDA?t=329

But the very reason why you haven't met him is becasue he died, how could he be non-mortal? :^)

>wahhhhhhhhhhh griffins too _______!

Gods are immortal.

Rate my favs by the way.
I could switch The Thing with something else maybe.

>died
Proof?

I have the actual footage. I watch it with Eddy every other week.

He's dead though, that's why he's not making movies. His corpse might not even exist anymore at this point.
What's his latest movie?

>post-1939
[Shit.]

Why is this still on letterboxd and themoviedb after they removed Penis Boy and instituted a policy of not accepting 'non-professional' films?

>movie

Why does megaautist subject child snuff porn to litte kids?

Great acting!

Did Dreyer learn his direction from Gance?

Dead general on a dead board.
The the final citadel is breached. Sup Forums is a board for superhero movies and nothing else.

I'd let her barf on me!

You don't like it, you can leave reddit

>muh reddit

Press in Europe ranged from mixed to negative. The press in Germany did not like the film.[11] At the Berlin premiere, a writer for The New York Times wrote "Whatever you think of the director Charles [sic] Theodor Dreyer, there is no denying that he is 'different.' He does things that make people talk about him. You may find his films ridiculous—but you won't forget them...Although in many ways [Vampyr] was one of the worst films I have ever attended, there were some scenes in it that gripped with brutal directness".[22] Press reaction to the film in Paris was mixed.[11] Reporter Herbert Matthews of The New York Times wrote that Vampyr was "a hallucinating film", that "either held the spectators spellbound as in a long nightmare or else moved them to hysterical laughter".[20] For many years after Vampyr's initial release, the film was viewed by critics as one of Dreyer's weaker works.[23]

The premiere of Vampyr in Germany was delayed by UFA, as the studio wanted the American films Dracula and Frankenstein to be released first.[10] The Berlin premiere was 6 May 1932.[18][19] At this premiere, the audience booed the film which led to Dreyer cutting several scenes out of the film after the first showing.[13] The film was distributed in France by Société Générale de Cinema who also distributed Dreyer's previous film The Passion of Joan of Arc.[10] The Paris premiere was in September 1932 where Vampyr was the opening attraction of a new cinema on the Boulevard Raspail.[19][20] At a showing of the film in Vienna, audiences demanded their money back. When this was denied, a riot broke out that led to police having to restore order with night sticks.[13] When the film premiered in Copenhagen, Denmark in March 1933, Dreyer did not show up. In the USA, the film premiered with English subtitles under the title "Not Against The Flesh"; an English-dubbed version, edited severely as to both the film continuity and the music track, appeared a few years later on the roadshow circuit as "Castle of Doom". Dreyer soon had a nervous breakdown and went to a mental hospital in France.[19] The film was a financial failure.[21]

>Vampyr is the only film worth seeing twice.

>Dreyer soon had a nervous breakdown and went to a mental hospital in France
lol

Reminder too make your cult movie challenge list for next year if you want a year of good times!

megaautist if you are still here: do you have any pre-code recommendations that you think I'd probably like (to watch instead of Scarface for pre-code week?)

Also got some free tickets to see Gods Own Country next weekend, has anybody seen/is it any good?

wahoo!!!!!!!!

If you had the choice between seeing Solaris and Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner theatrically though not on film, which would you choose?

>Scarface
You won't like it

>paying money to watch flickering images

Why do people assume megaautist likes pre-code movies

Who said anything about paying money?

But you don't leave the house!

Sorry. You're confusing me with Bruce. :)

I love Hitchcock!

My favorites are Rear Window, Psycho, North by Northwest, Marnie, Rebecca, and Notorious! The list doesn't go on because everything else is garbage :)

>I love Hitchcock
Should've stopped there. Already couldn't take you seriously

>If you don't like superhero movies, go to Reddit
Smart guy.

You have to be dense to say that pre code Hollywood wasn't a movement. The films are probably a lot more similar than the French new wave for example.

>capitalizing reddit
sup reddit

heh, us 4channies never capitalize nothing. chanheads rule!

Ooopppss! Flick, sorry.
It's the only thing that's better than Griffith.

>not including The Birds

Too stupid and silly!

you have to go back now

Why is Hitchcock better than Griffith?

Scorpion had amazing poster art by some mangaka, too bad I lost the hdd.
I don't even know what Atanarjuat is.

Because Hitchcock is fun, silly! : )

What's pre-code? The movies pre censorship code? Was it introduced in the 30's or something, right? I remember I read something about the institution of the code of auto censorship but I forgot everything.

>Marnie
Forgot Marnie was one of my favourites.
Imagine if it came out today.

He's making fun of you

What? We're 3 different people.

>marnie
But /lbg/ hates melodrama!

freaking owned him hard bro

No you don't get it. Melodrama's ok when the colors are really pronounced and descriptive:)

I don't care. I like what I like, I have an anime and genre shit among my favs

Maybe you should have a unique personality :/

>freaking
you have to go back soylent bean

In 3 bodies?

bruce likes frog vomit!

BRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!!!!!

There she goes again!!

It's called Pasta Frolla by the way and it's not the name of the pastry, just the name of the dough.

Why should anyone care what a chomo thinks?
