The ones I REALLY miss being able to put in are Rogue, Gambit, and Iceman, but Storm has more versatility as an elemental than Iceman, Gambit's explosions don't really compare to Cyclops' lasers, and Rogue's a great flying tank she kind of combines Storm and Colossus' niches.

If you'd let me pick 8 I'd use the 90's team but replacing Jubilee and Gambit with Colossus/Nightcrawler

Darwin=His reactive evolution power is pretty awesome and in most situations, it works as a wild card.

Forge=Superhuman invention skill allows for intuitive knowledge of how to construct, and understand anything of a mechanical nature; limited magical abilities. (Very useful for those missions that deal with tech or alien stuff. He can basically invent stuff out of nowhere. Plus, he's a former soldier and has limited magical abilities.)

Sage= Computer-like brain, telepathy; can detect mutant signatures, as well as trigger latent mutations. (Her mutant ability allows me to "upgrade" potential mutants within my very own team. Her power couple with Forges could yield powerful results.)

Monet St. Croix=Superhuman strength, durability, reflexes, coordination, hearing, and vision; flight and telepathy. Also a genius. (Basically, this, in my opinion, would be a great stand in for the "Wonder Woman" character. She's basically Supergirl.)

Polaris=Can generate magnetic fields to manipulate metal, induce flight, create force fields, and harness energy blasts.(Magneto light and pretty to boot!)

Omega Sentinel=Cyborg; possesses superhuman strength, speed, and durability; has electrostatic poles mounted on her arms and unspecified weapons and mechanisms that retract into her body. Can fly and control and communicate with machines. (Just cause!)

Ariel=Teleportation (up to interstellar distances) by linking physical doorways at her start and endpoints (due to her alien physiology); also possesses the mutant ability of psychic persuasion. (Because sometimes, I gotta go places!)

I assume since I'm picking the team I too would have mutant powers. My powers would basically be mental in nature. They would give me invulnerability to physical harm (within reason), immunity to physic assault, danger sense & a variety of short range mental powers such as: telekinesis, telepathy & precognition. The drawback is if I don't get enough sleep my body starts to eat itself.
