let's be honest Sup Forums, this guy is a subhuman and most of what he wrote is complete shit but people like him not for his books but for movie adaptations of some of his stories since the 80's. it's cinema who made his name popular, not his shitty books (the best one is also that copypasta of Dracula who take place on the 70's on a small city of the Maine)
and please stop that bullshit about the Dark Tower, this is complete garbage and it's like fans of this pile of feces are overrating it for purpose when every normal persos just cares about horror stories from him, not some autistic fantasy trip.
Isaac Sanchez
>but people like him not for his books but for movie adaptations of some of his stories since the 80's. Wut Do you not understand WHY there were so many adaptations of his work in the first place?
Hunter Morales
>and most of what he wrote is complete shit Even he admits this though
Brayden Jackson
Because Carrie became an unexpected success and they keep adapting his stories no matters what it was about? And because Kubrick putted the thing above with the Shining making his own special snowflake deep version?
Daniel Rodriguez
He's a thin lipped, cross eyed cokefiend. His books are entry level horror and suspense.
Ayden Rivera
i like his short stories
James Powell
Because he spent the late 70s and the 80s churning out one bestseller after another.
Angel Wood
i see reddit is still butthurt because king said unflattering things about trump
Matthew Martin
dude, stephen king is pretty popular. I live in uknown eastern european country and even my dad reads stephen king, when I visited him he was just reading that mediocre cellphone apocalypse book. When I was an exchange student, german families also had lot of stephen king books and young people read them
Jacob Wright
I'm not surprised someone who can barely string a sentence together has shit taste in writers
Elijah Nelson
Yes i hate him so much for this because it shown is on the side of establishment, it was always the case but he's pretending he's part of counterculture or some shit like that, probably some outdated liberal babyboomer fantasy.
Isaiah Roberts
o look, a brainlet criticizing writing he hasn't actually read
the first three books of the dark tower were great
Henry Jones
His writting is shit.
Bentley Miller
>Autism: the post
Jason Nguyen
>the first three books of the dark tower were great the first one is probably the worst thing he wrote.
Kayden Campbell
What is a book of them?
Xavier Russell
>makes his own adaptation of The Shining >it's shit
Stephen King's best works like Green Mile, Stand By Me, and Shawshank don't focus on the supernatural retardation and actually have heart to them.
Andrew Hill
Well it just confirm my statement, most peoples like him for the movies, nobody cares about the shitty books, they are just proto-synopsis.
Lincoln Wilson
Because of the successful adaptations and consumer drone
Christian Stewart
He does look like he has Downs Syndrome or something. What's wrong with him?
Blake Smith
Wrong
Eli Lewis
Wrong
Alexander Nguyen
American mongrel.
Dominic Gutierrez
Sorry, King was huge way before they started making movies of his books. Carrie, Kujo, The Shining, Salem's Lot, they were very, very popular books. I'm old, I remember it. The Stand is what made him mainstream, everyone was reading it. When Carrie came out, it wasn't advertised as a Steven King book, because he wasn't that known in the mainstream yet. He didnt really get a big boost from movies until much later - I remember when The Shining came out in movie form, everyone saw it and loved it - but nobody had read the book.
For me, he was good up to Misery, discounting Eyes of the Werewolf (Was shit). I tried to start the shit he was pounding out in a coke fueled fury after that, but it's just shit. I tried a couple times to read The Dark Tower, but it's shit. He was good when he was writing from the perspective of a small town in Maine, but once he got famous, it all turned into a muddled coke frenzy of pure shit.
Leo Lopez
He's done several collections, Night Shift, Different Seasons, etc. Plus the collection of shorts he did under the name Richard Bachman, The Bachman Books.
Nolan Hall
Stephen King is the greatest author of literature in the last fifty years. Naturally you don't understand his work because many of his characters have testosterone, something sorely-lacking in your soy-filled diet.
Carter Howard
They were shit. He can't write fantasy. He's pleb level for horror. If you want to read good horror, go dig into Richard Straub, and Ghost Story, Rising Dragon, Shadowlands, etc. He wrote The Talisman with King - and you can tell the part he wrote, because he's actually talented.
King is the McDonalds of horror fiction. There's better meals out there.
Levi Adams
I thought he was shit for a long time because I'd only read his post-accident books, but his 80s stuff is actually pretty good. It and The Stand are legitimately fantastic in places, if very uneven.
Isaac Adams
He may be bad, but you gotta admire his work ethic.
William Mitchell
lol, nice bait, schlomo.
Kayden Phillips
Peter Straub you dipshit The Juniper Tree and Blue Rose are two of the most disturbing stories I've ever read
