What would be the repercussion if Supes save his dad instead?

What would be the repercussion if Supes save his dad instead?

A bunch of nobodies who didn't know Clark would claim to have seen something in the midst of a traumatic and visually confusing weather event, and their claims would be dismissed by anyone they told and not credible enough to generate media attention.

>Headline: Local Guy With Superpowers Saves His Dad
>Everyone else: FAKE NEWS!

None since he could have easily just run over to help him at a normal human speed. Visibility would be so shit that any debris that hit him wouldn't be obvious to the observers and his being able to run into a tornado and survive would be attributed to luck/act of god, no one the wiser.

There was no Superman in this scene, what movie you talking about?

This. God knows what they were thinking here. How did he expect Martha to provide for herself?

>could have literally just walked into the tornado
>gusts of kicked up debris would have made it extremely difficult for anyone to actually see him
>in all the hysteria, no one would have believed that Clark had walked into the tornado like nothing

He would not be able to reach catharsis later on in his arcs and discover that while he may be an alien, he still has humanity.

Clark gets exposed. Think all of the questions and division showcased in BvS, but to a Clark that has no clear sense of his purpose. Not to mention the hostility of the government. People like Amanda Waller couldn't go after Superman when he clearly defended Earth from Zod, but lacking any large scale proof of his intentions (and lacking the support of men like Swanwick), they'd be desperate to bring Clark under control.

The Kents would at best be harrassed by the media and crazy people. At worst, they'd either be on the run from or locked up by the government. Which would again bring an inexperienced, lost Clark against the government.

On the upside, Batman wouldn't be traumatized into hating him but the Kents have no way of knowing or guessing about that

I would have saved my father at the risk of being exposed as an alien. Superman is a faggot

>Clark gets exposed.

How exactly? The sole witnesses would be a bunch of traumatised people who nearly died in a tornado.

Reminder: Wonder Cunt was hiding while an Earth threatening event is happening.

There are tons of videos on Youtube with people in the middle of Tornadoes with their smartphones out recording.

Yes, because even if those people huddled under the bridge had their phones out, which they didn't, a blurry, shaky phone video of a guy running into a tornado to save his dad and miraculously surviving would definately be treated as concrete proof of the individual's alien identity and superhuman abilities, and not just dismissed as 'God was watching over him' or 'OMG SO LUCKY!!!!11' like actual improbable survivals do in real life.

A fucking pick-up could fly through the storm and bounce off him as someone filmed it on their phone and people would still watch the shit-quality footage on Youtube and just dismiss it as "Oh, he's so lucky, the pick-up struck the ground and bounced OVER him just before it hit him! Glad him and his dad are OK now! ^__^"

he gets exposed
him and his family become 'celebrities' or at least get unwanted attention from people with a lot of power, as shown through waller. clark only got away from that attention by forging false identities and moving from place to place

Holy shit why didn't he do this?!

Nothing. MoS established lois lane was the only person even remotely interested in investigating superhuman feats. BvS established lex was the only person remotely interested in it after lois found someone to fuck the shit out of her.

Who cares. Giving Clark a choice never should have been part of the movie in the first place.

whats even better is it was supposed to take place while clark was a teenager. So mid-90s. No one was going to have cameraphones.

yeah, most of them are running or safe a mile away

He would actually have a reason for leaving home.
The attention he got from first saving that bus of kids, and now from surviving a tornado would be too much to stay in the small town.
So even after saving his father, he must leave him.

Cavill was swole 29 year old and looked exactly like one on screen. Even the first time I watched the movie I noticed that he looked too old to be wanting his dad's permission to do anything.

His dad dying of natural causes might have more impact than a tornado.

A better question is why all those people huddled under an overpass, the absolute worst place you could possibly pick to take shelter from a tornado.

superman can take the phone

Jonathan Kent didn't die.
Tornado blew him up to the mountain

Justice League showed that Superman can move almost as fast as the flash, which is the speed of light.

literally none

kek, this

What's his catchphrase again Sup Forums?

>but to a Clark that has no clear sense of his purpose.

He still didn't have a purpose in BvS.

Snyder is a fucking hack who wants to go through the character arcs with none of the work.

That a part of the best superman comic when he isn't able to save his dad from a heart attack

>Have all the power to save others
>can't even save your dad
It's fucking pottery already why didn't they just go with that. Instead we got a fucking tornado

Given Pete Ross's mother already had people aware of Clark saving that busload of kids, which had zero consequences for 20 years or so until Lois finds out about it... It seems like the people of Smallville don't give a fuck, and maybe look after their own.

Clark could have run at a normal human pace and saved him with his strength and said "lol adrenaline from dad being in danger" and nobody would give a shit.

In a midst all the destruction and property damage of a tornado like that nobody is gunna think twice about a guy running to save his dad trying to save his dog.

Reminder that Nolan was the hack that approved this scene

FPBP

Dad dies later of cancer, Superman learns he isn't all powerful. Save tons of money on CGI.
