Rip off thread

Now that we know BR 2049 is a rip off of the 1987 movie "Cherry2000" what are other movies that shamelessly ripped off others ?

How come I never heard of this movie

The Island is a blatant rip-off of Parts: The Clonus Horror.

There's probably a lot of movies you've never heard of, don't feel bad about it. It's an ok futuristic adventure movie

I never heard of that either.
So you mean there are tons of mediocre old sci-fi movies out there waiting for people like Michael Bay and Danny Villeneuve to copy?
That sounds great

it's also a funny MST3K episode.

Most people probably didn't. I watched it on VHS in early 90's when I was in elementary school.

Yeah pretty much.
Recycling is what hollywood does.

Cherry 3000 probably influenced the creator of Chobits, I bet.

Orion. Based.

>that female raiders acting
>you won´t find anybody better then me Mister
>I´m not a machine
kek

>Film released in 1987
>I bet it was inspired by my weeb shit created in 2000
Weebs everybody

>Reading comprehension nil

Le 56% race, everybody.

Here's a list of shit Villeneuve and co blatantly lifted from with BR2049:

>Natural City (Korean cyberpunk film)
>Snatcher (video game)
>Macross Plus (anime OVA)
>Cowboy Bebop (anime series)
>The Airtight Garage (French comic)

And more besides.

Thats Melanie Griffith.

Sorry it's an early morning for me. I apologize for me being a retard.

>Wanting to make a film similar to movies and media you enjoy

I saw natural city as one of my first Korean movies and felt Koreans can't make movies at all
How far they have come now

That orion logo reminds me of my fucking childhood. Lots of films I watched from that era had that logo in the credits.

fuck off tourist

Yea I'm pissed I never found this movie too. I look for campy stuff and this was never mentioned

who was the blond bad guy at the end of the trailer, he looked a lot like willem dafoe

One of mysteries of the world is that more popular foreign works are inspired by unpopular American works so that things we rejected first time took a circle abroad to come back to us

None of that anime shit was original you faggot

There's a difference between inspiration and outright stealing ideas then claiming them as your own.

It's a beautiful clusterfuck. Nonetheless I was amazed at how much BR2049 seemed to have lifted from it. Holographic overlay onto a synthetic woman, mysterious character tending hydroponics in an abandoned building in the desert surrounded by giant female statues, etc. Even the protagonist being called "R" and hopelessly in love with an artificial woman...

>Hurfff durrffff I'm fucking retarded

Maybe go and watch the content mentioned, you fuckwit.

No one gives a shit about your children cartoons weebs

>only purity spiraling film autists can have opinions on the world's largest English image board

wew lad

I have dickhead

It wasn’t original when it was released, CB is a mix of generic sci-fi, snatcher is a rip-off of blade runner, macross is generic sci-fi with idols. This shit was dreamt up in pulps years ago

I'm downloading right now. Will share tomorrow
