"So in fact, this is not a humiliating defeat at all, but a rare species of victory?"

"Calm your Cato, you have no understanding of things military, else you would see that my actions have been perfectly correct at all times-"

"You have lost Rome without unsheathing your sword! YOU HAVE LOST ROME!"

...

>"They sleep standing up, you know? Elephants, on account once laid down they cannot rise again."

Yeah, I'll never understand. I hope you follow in his footsteps soon Alpha male.

>living in abject humiliation,a captive of your enemies and a symbol of their mercy

beta male detected

>not fighting to the death like Brutus

yeah man, real alpha

He was drunken old optimate who literally ripped his own guts out when things didn't go his way.

> Implying Brutus death scene is historically accurate
> Implying it was an honor for a roman to die fighting other romans
Pro tip : it wasn't.

who exactly is he supposed to fight, its clear Caesar's army has already left

>talking about a tv character
>suddenly historical accuracy is the issue
>trying to prop up a cowardly oligarch as some kinda hero

Okay then my alpha buddy. Enjoy all your pussy

>"everyone responding to me is the same guy"

>argumentum ad hominem

kek

They like calling 300 gay.

brutus literally cried to his mother that he had no honor or dignity after he surrended to caesar

Doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down and cry, long as you get up and keep going till the end.

That was the point of the character arc, redemption. He even fucking baptists himself and mans up.

Man I love this series. Fuck HBO for killing to prematurely.

idk i havent seen it in a few years but i remembered brutus as a pathetic depressed drunk for most of the second season

...

...

He is for the first half, and then Servila gives him a pep talk about how his ancestors were one of those who cast down the last roman king 400 years ago.

He takes his fathers ring, goes east, raises an army and dies fighting.

...

He dies fighting a guy that he betrayed twice, after turning coat so many times that it's clear he has no principles of his own and just doesn't want other people to think of him badly. He always tried to pick the winning side. When he finally lost, he realized that he wasn't going to get any mercy this time. People had learned by that point that if you spare Brutus, he'll just stab you in the back as soon as he finds a new wagon to hop onto.

This guy & Travis Bickle.

what a load of crap, initially he was with Pompey, the rightful consul. Then he surrendered to Caesar, stabbed him for being a tyrant (literally no one can refute the fact that Caesar was a tyrant) so even that wasnt a "betrayal" His duty is to the Senate and People of Rome, not to Caesar. Then Octavian declared war on him even though he had already made a truce with Antony post-Julius shanking. I agree he may have been a bit indecisive or weak at times, but he literally never betrayed anyone

he literally did nothing wrong

>eats so much they have to do all his scenes in the dark with him lying down and his face obscured

>no matter how many times you watch rome or read Plutarch Cato never wins

females, beta males and most "alpha" males wont understand Wallace

That's not ad hominem you fucking mong. Btw what you just did was the fallacy fallacy: trying to derail a conversation by spouting some stupid latin bullshit fuck off

be nice to the pol refugees. their board has literally been swallowed by the mainstream satanic shills. they have no where to go...

I know it hurts. Imagine how much better the world would be if the EU and every North African government was replaced with a modernized Roman Republic.

They were alpha men who became espresso sipping /fa/gs.

Sup Forums and Sup Forums are not the same they once were even as little as a year ago.

...

FUCK

I still yell this at my wife sometimes. My favorite scene in that show.

In all fairness, I'm pretty sure their super expensive set burned down after season 2?

cringe

let me fix it for you

...

Whether or not Caesar was a tyrant shouldn't matter he was legally appointed dictator in perpetuity and the Republic was better off for it he was the better man compared to Pompeii who was famous for sweeping in at the end of fights to steal the glory for himself.
