"It's all a dream" is literally the laziest writing trope imaginable.

>after almost 20 years it ends with a dream.
It would destroy future animation as a whole in the west.

tfw you realize the sword is calling out to Jack by giving him schizophrenia-tier visions

Sorry, guys, it's definetely happening. That's why Jack keeps seeing death and stuff in his visions, he's getting close to dying and the whole cartoon was his "struggle" for living.

Can anyone, please, post a link to the episode? I need to watch it again.

adultswim.com/videos/streams

>hurr durr guys he's in a coma
>guys im so original durr
I bet you feel pretty smart with that coma theory shit don't you.
1. That would be a horrible move on their part and it would only generate negative feedback
2. Overdone and shit trope, the writers are too good for that
3. Seeing death doesn't mean he's dying you fucking braindead retard. He has PTSD/Schizophrenia

>tfw series end with Jack commiting sudoku

that's funny because next episode, Jack hallucinates his past self, who attempts to convince Jack to kill himself.

What?Where does he tell him to do that?I m pretty sure his past self just mocks him for losing his honor

A samurai without his honor is already dead. He'd definitely be doing a lot more than mocking him.

It's very heavily implied.

Past Jack mocks him for protracting a potentially endless pursuit of Aku when his sword is lost and he believes all known time portals have been destroyed, claiming that there's no honor in persisting. ("There's no way home! There's nothing to fight for!")

PJ then asserts that the only honorable thing to do at this point is to end it all. Jack interrupts PJ before he can actually say 'kill yourself', though the rest of the scene he goes on about how he is tired of fighting and presses Jack on why he would make his long-dead family and people "wait for him any longer."

I'm willing to bet the finale is gonna have some message like "you can't change the past, so you should put your best effort into changing the future"

you're full of scat, babe.

>Long ago in a distant land, I, Jack, a warrior trained to fight evil, was tasked defeating a great malevolence! But I faced this Master of Darkness, wielding my magic sword, and almost succeeded. Before the final blow was struck, he tore open a portal in time and flung me into the future, where his evil reigns. Now I must find a way to get back to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!

Does anyone else feel like Aku should be used sparingly in this? I mean I get he's the main villain and all, I'm not talking like "out of respect for Mako" or anything. I actually really like the idea of him being some sort of deity for this cult. I mean obviously he and Jack have to fight, but save that for the very end. Scaramouche calling him on the cell phone was the only problem I had with the episode

Here's how it will actually end.
>Jack defeats Aku
>Returns to the past
>This no longer makes him immortal
>His aging is rapidly accelerated
>He dies of old age as finally reaches his destiny
I fucking guarantee this is how it ends

Jack just isn't Jack without Aku. Maybe for the first 5 episodes, and all the focus is on the cult/sisters, but then someone needs to fuck up and unleash Aku on everything and he needs to wreak havoc and be goofy for the last 5 episodes.

I don't want to see Aku physically until the last two episodes.

so... weirdmaggedon.

> Scaramouche calling him on the cell phone was the only problem I had with the episode

That was a really funny gag, honestly. Its okay if there's still some goofy stuff in this

Saw the first three eps at the LA premiere, user. I'm literally telling you the future.

Damn, you guys aren't gonna like the *very first* scene of the episode two, then.

>Returns to the past
>Can't kill Aku because he dies of old age
>Aku still subjugates the entire world

What was with those alien things at the beginning?
They looked straight up deviantart-tier

It would be really cool if they did something like that for a new intro.

Are there any leaks of episode 2 and 3?

>Scaramouche calling him on the cell phone was the only problem I had with the episode
It's like you didn't watch the original show. Goofy bits were always there.

>Ages as he fights off Aku
>Becomes weaker and weaker the longer he fights
>Defeats Aku with the last of his strength
>Dies of old age holding his sword the same way the viking did in Season 1
I...don't need these feels

>Before the final blow was struck
>Becomes weaker and weaker the longer he fights
If he really travels to the past, it will take him one hit to kill Aku

I'm fine with goofy stuff, that's what the show was. I don't want it to be edgy/gritty, I'm just saying back then we had time for it. idk how many episodes there'll be but I know it's not many. I just feel like that specific part wasn't really necessary, Scaramouche was goofy enough

First three episodes were screened at some hotel in LA or LV a few days ago.

I don't think anyone on the team would be retarded enough for that. Also, Genndy is like a god, so I definitely don't see that happening

Yes, but are they somewhere online?

not that guy, but unlikely. Sharing is great and all, but sometimes, people actually DO depend on not breaking NDA's and shit

It was likely an event only open to press reviewers who were made to sign NDAs.

Here's a download.

Jack must have the wildest imagination ever, how the fuck would a man in ancient Japan be able to dream so much shit up?

>2. Overdone and shit trope, the writers are too good for that
Is it really overdone? I can think of very few non-subverted examples.

>Is it really overdone? I can think of very few non-subverted examples.
it's overdone by spergs making up conspiracy theories on the internet
"they're just in a coma" is the epitome of those

he saw the future of anime

>Jack wakes up from the coma in what seems to be a cave to the sight of his mother
>She seems tired and has a sad expression
"Mom..."
>She realizes and turns back at him
>Her eyes widen up and fill with tears of joy.
"Jack..."
>She comes near him and they share a warm hug.
>Jack can barely move his body. He feels dizzy and does not remember a thing.
"Where are we?... What happened...?"
>Her mother stays silent for a moment
"Aku..."
>Jack looks at her. He appears not to understand.
"Where's dad?"
"..."
>She tells Jack how his father was able to rescue him in the last moment, just before Aku was about to impale him with one of his claws.
>Jack begins to remember.
>His father took him out Aku's lair, only to be struck by the monster next.
"He gave his life for you, Jack. So you could triumph where he perished."
>They both remain silent for a couple of minutes.
"What happened to me?"
"We were able to escape after your father fell into Aku's pit. That was 3 months ago. I've been taking care of you ever since. Now, my son, you should rest for a while. We will talk in the morning."
>She slowly walks out the cave
>Jack obliges and closes his eyes again

>The light begins to come in from the entrance of the cave
>Jack wakes up again.
>He stretches his muscles. It still hurts.
>His mom is not in the cave.
>He stands up and walks out the cave.
>The light hurts his eyes for a moment.
>He looks for his mom in the surroundings.
>But there's nobody there. Just an infinite red desert.
>He finally understands and sighs in despair.
"It was all a dream, all over again."

So what will be worse, Jack freaking the fuck out after killing one of the daughters or Jack killing one of the daughters and just seeing robot innards?

Scenario 2, later followed by scenario one.

I can't wait to see Jack slowly descend into madness and despair as he begs for the sweet release of death that will never come before he ends up earning his happy ending because lord does he need it.

Mediocre set-up, nice ending.

One of my friends in LA went to it and he sure as hell didn't have any press credentials. It was a rather big theater too, judging by the photos.

He has developed PSTD or whatever because he has been on the edge for decades.

>Scaramouche calling him on the cell phone was the only problem I had with the episode
I think it was done to show that the "cult of Aku" is nothing but batshit crazy fangirls, because even random robot assassins got Aku on their number list while this super devoted cult don't even talk to him, but to a fucking statue. I think the cult will get really disappointed in Aku and denounce him or something, or turn against him.
But yeah, I don't think Aku even knows they exist, and the cellphone scene was to establish that.

Does Japan care at all about Samurai Jack, and is there a Japanese dub for them?

So we all agree the phantom jack is seeing is how he views himself right?

>Scaramouche calling him on the cell phone was the only problem I had with the episode
It maintained Aku as a funny old man villain. I'm glad they didn't just change him into a giant edgelord or something.

What if Scaramouche was a human to begin with

Do you think Jack will have a happy ending?

After living a lifetime in a desolate Aku future, going back to the past and just having a happily ever after wouldn't line-up. Jack would be happy just to secure the timeline, sacrifice or not.

That would be pretty cool.

>Those priestesses spent decades trying to impress Aku so he'd commune with them and Scat Robot has him on speed dial

>His mom calling him "Jack"
You do realize that's not his name, right?

Scat Robot is his favourite assassin.
The priestess clan propably fucked up big time, and Aku blocked their number.

My feelings were just like that.

Even tho I did not want them to turn Aku into an edgelord, I still don't think the old "silly villain" will fit this new season well.
I was afraid they'd turn Aku into an Evil Master who is unreachable, but Scaramouch was able to call him easily, so it seems that the show is still being pretty faithful to the original character.

I am really curious about what they're going to do to Aku in this season. They have to change him, but if they change him too much, it won't feel like Samurai Jack. I really think they'll be able to pull it off, because, even tho they changed the show a lot, they were still able to keep the same Samurai Jack feeling after 12 fucking years. I became a fan of the madman Genndy.

where is the porn of the sisters

Jesus, did Jack ever got laid?

He was born to be a warrior, they castrated him upon birth to get rid of his "Manly weakness".

I want the mom more

>stretched out used up vagoo

thanks user! I don't have TV so i couldn't watch last night.

>dying samurai hallucinates a scifi future

You're dumb, go away.

What is with faggots doing the same "duh mc is going through duh death raddle so he made all duh stuff up!!!"

Their middle school just made them read An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge

Since it's on adult swim now, I'm expecting a bittersweet ending.

I don't think he'll travel to the past to defeat Aku though - but rather he'll defeat him in the present as a means of history erasing himself and those he's known and encountered.

You're retarded. I'm sorry.

He fucked aku when he was disguised as Ikra. That's how aku gave birth to evil jack in season 1.

Imagine

>Jack cuts up one of the sisters
>slight pause as her body begins to come apart
>Oil leaks out

Jack ventures forth

>Other sisters come around
>Sisters and audience see their dead sister on the ground, sliced up in a pool of real blood

I thought they looked kinda cute

...

Jack finally learns what happened

Scatman shows up again, but now he's human (with cyborg parts where Jack cut him)

unlikely, since he did blow up, but it's fun to dream

>repairing a robot with human parts

Just because humans can do it doesnt mean robots can

The implication in that post was that he was human all along and Jack didn't realize it.

I hate this fucking theory. "Oh yeah, a cartoon, a complete product of the imagination was a PRODUCT OF THE IMAGINATION THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!1"
Literally any piece of animation can fit this theory. Oh yeah, Looney Tunes is a cancer kid's fucking coma dream, when he wasn't fucking dying and shit, he loved bunnies, ducks, pigs, and had a relative that hunted. Also, for added darkness, that same relative like, idk, molested him or something. Who knows, who cares. Fuck the coma theory.
