When do they realize that no one cares about a super hero teaming up movie anymore? People cared in 2012 because Avengers were the first to do it and Infinity War is hyped due to people waiting over a decade for that because each character got their own standalone movie. Instead WB fucking rushes the DCEU and expects it to do well when no Batman, no Man of Steel 2 has been made yet
do I want WB to make money on the film after shafting Snyder/Wagner/Junkie XL?
no.
hahaha. it's about fucking time mates. faith in humanity is slightly restored.
>When do they realize that no one cares about a super hero teaming up movie anymore?
Spider-Man Homecoming probably made $100 million more or less because it had Iron Man.
>no Man of Steel 2 has been made yet
Man of Steel didn't do very well. Not abysmaly, but not very well. Aquaman might be a dumpsterfire as well.
P-please go watch Justice League
if it does will they finally abandon this abortion of a shared universe or keep going with the same actors?
...
if only they tried someone other than snyder like one time...
it's not like this whole thing won't be rebooted in 5-10 years
>Tfw it's real
My family wanted to go to a movie after Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. My brother suggested Justice League but everyone else said they'd rather see Thor again instead, so we saw Thor.
So....... Marvel ordered and planned 2 years ago for the last Thor to be full comedy to keep the contrast with *serious* DCEU as strong as possible, and so destroy JL legs and thunder ??
Was this all part of Kevin's plan ??
your brother might be gay
>let's do a team up movie then an origin story
>then let's do that again
What did DC mean by this? What the fuck, that's not how this works, that's not how any of this works
they'll recast Batman, Wonder Woman will continue as its own standalone series, and it seems like people actually enjoy Henry Cavill as Superman now so Man of Steel will probably get a sequel. Aquaman and Flash movies will be retooled, if they happen at all.
don't expect any major crossover events for a while, movies will be mostly self-contained and kept at a reasonable (for capeshit) budget
can we all agree that Suicide Squad is the worst piece of shit not only in the DCEU, but ever to come out in film?
horrendous.
I refuse to believe WB knows how to manage a budget any more. This is the studio that somehow let Guy Ritchie burn $175 million for a King Arthur movie nobody wanted.
Lolol WB spent billions to create a franchise that would recreate all the brand damage done by the Schumacher Batman films.
Holy shit! Also, I wonder what's in those red boxes
>Many people liked MOS/BvS
>Many people hated them
solution for JL:
>remove every Snyder kino scene, so people who liked his work won't watch it
>remove/add/cut unrelated scenes, so the story is all fucked, basically the same problem BvS/SS cinemacut had
>add some shitty quips, so the rest of fans are going to hate it too
>Numales still hate it, because it's too manly for them
Are you surprised?
He has aspergers and lives with my mom even though he's 22 and not in college or employed, so being gay and having bad taste in movies would be the least of his issues.
Not a DC fag, but seeing Thor over JL? I have to side with your brother on this, or at least why not see Coco?
no way this real
Surely this is just bullshit, you Marveldrones. It cannot be.
DO NOT WANT
Thor is a fun movie, JL is not. Why would they not go see Thor?
A guy who I know that bullshits sometimes told me that the skinhead gang at the beginning of the movie is called "the maga horde." Any truth to this?
>Why would they not go see Thor?
Because I'm assuming that they had already seen it because user wrote, "again."
To be fair, Infinity war will probably be shit too. They did nothing since they started this shit to make us care about Thanos or whatever his plans are.
>literal autist likes Snyder capeshit
I told you people
You should've bought a ticket for Thor but went to see JL instead
I've always disliked Aquaman and I assume most people do as well. I've never in my lifetime asked a person who there favorite Super Hero was and heard the response Aquaman. Cyborg isn't very exciting but I can live with him. What they really needed was those mother fuckin Wonder Twins. I get a boner just thinking about those two retards yelling "Wonder Twin Powers Activate!" TLDR: Aquaman is trash and mainly why I didn't go see this movie.
Aquaman may be lame but his arch nemesis, Autistic Black Scuba Diver, is amazing.
There isn't enough Aquaman in JL for anybody to care one way or another. JL didn't do anything to get me interested in his solo movie, but if it isn't abject shit, I'll go see it like I have for 90% of CBMs.
I don't like superheros in general. But does anyone else think it's dumb to start off having a movie with them all united?
It worked for X-Men. Thought X-Men were conceived as a team to begin with rather than being a team-up of pre-existing characters, so maybe that doesn't count.
The trouble with this movie is that the three biggest draws are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, and they already blew their load on them appearing onscreen for the first time ever in Batman vs Superman. What's left to draw people to see Justice League? Flash an Aquaman are okay but too few people care about them, and absolutely nobody gives a shit about Cyborg. WB shot their wad and it was a waste.
As X-Men and GotG has shown, it's not a problem so long as you don't pretend it's a big deal. That's where DC doesn't recognize the cognitive dissonance in what they did.
I don't think it would count. Like when I think of X-Men, I think of the group, not X-Man. But Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc are individual. If that makes sense.
Fuck the tentpole. Just give Wonder Woman nine more movies and call it a day.
>The trouble with this movie is that the three biggest draws are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, and they already blew their load on them appearing onscreen for the first time ever in Batman vs Superman.
Somehow, this didn't stop the success of The Avengers.
Black Widow and Iron Man or Hawkeye and Thor appearing in the same movie isn't really the same as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman fighting Doomsday.
Why?
The poster is fake but many actual Chinese ads and cinemas did use them.
This is probably common in China, since this also happened with Spider-Man: Homecoming, but with posters with Spider-Man in the Great Wall of China and hanging out with pandas.
Just because you got quads doesn't mean you get to go around asking stupid questions, okay hotshot?
Do you understand the difference between a guy picking up a bow without ever doing anything and a superhero fighting a big bad monster? I do. So should you.
True, BvS was DCEU's first Avengers movie. Justice League was their Age of Ultron. In a way, it has the same drop as those movies had, only minus ~800$ million.
...
Goddammit.
I think I do, but I don't see why the former should appeal to audiences better than the latter.
It isn't supposed to be more appealing. That's the whole point. These characters appearing wasn't some huge crossover, they were just side-characters. In BvS it WAS a huge deal, a huge crossover of three huge heroes. And then they try to have the same appeal with Justice League, but it doesn't work because the novelty already wore off.
It didn't really work with BvS either though. That movie barely made more money than the Wonder Woman solo movie. In fact, if you account for budget and the domestic box office being more lucrative for the studio, it even made less money.
It doesn't. People went to see Avengers because it was the first meeting of these previously established characters that audiences liked already.
Meanwhile, the first meeting between Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman took place more than 2 years ago and it had very little gravity. In Justice League, even more characters get added but the audience hasn't seen them in anything yet.
There's something to be said for DC opting to not follow Marvel's formula, but these things might be like baking. Deviate from the recipe even a little and it could result in disaster.
Yeah, that is the whole point. WB screwed the pooch. WB fucked up. They did the first appearance of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman on screen together and it was in a movie nobody liked. So with Justice League they not only had a bad reputation to work with, they had to deal with no longer appealing to people who would go see the movie purely for the nostalgia of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman onscreen together, since we've already gotten that. And the other superheroes aren't big enough draws to bring people in by themselves.
Well that's because it was a bad movie.
Oh. So why didn't BvS do better?
>nostalgia
Should be "novelty," not nostalgia.
Good thats what they get for fucking around and ruining zack snyders movie. Pieces of shit all this time wasted for them release a chopped up shit movie
>It made even less money
A lot less money
>Solo movies for every character including their mother is the only way to do things
Why do marvel drones think this is true?
That's so fucking pathetic.
Justice League
This was meant to be their avengers, their kickstart of the universe
BvS did great until word got out it stunk

>I've always disliked Aquaman and I assume most people do as well
No
But Marvel even doesn't do this.
It's not so much Marvel's formula as it is simply common sense. You need to make people care about your characters before you can make bank by putting them in a team-up movie. The more people care the more the team-up movie will pay off. Their biggest mistake was to not make use of what Nolan already created as a foundtion of the DCEU and just use Christian Bale's Batman.
doesn't even* dammit.
It's not dumb at all. The idea that every character gets his own movie first is just a marvel thing.
Justice League gives all the information needed to know the characters, without needing hour long movies.
Everything we learn can then be expanded on in solo movies, or future team up movies.
I think they tried but Bale didn't want to be batman again
Is it that bad? Wonder Woman was doing pretty well but why JL bombs?
>You need to make people care about your characters
>The only way to make people care for a character is to have a solo movie first
I will never understand hte thought process of Marvel drones.
JL being somewhat more crowd pleasing couldn't erase the feeling of being burned by BvS
>I will never understand hte thought process of Marvel drones.
Not a Marvel done, (capeshit is capeshit is capeshit), but this condescension would be much more justified if the DCEU was a roaring success despite this approach.
I'm sure if they had thrown enough money at him, he would have reconsidered. Bale could have done for the DCEU what RDJ did for the MCU and he probably knew that and demanded RDJ money.
Does the team-up movie make you care about these characters? Is there any time in that 1 hour and 59 minutes that lets you get to know these characters and sympathize with them to the point you get invested in their stories, or do they just exist as tools for action scenes and quips?
These are the pertinent questions. How do you answer, Man of WB?
Poor word of mouth. Marvel did beat them to the punch for a big superhero team-up, so the novelty might have been gone, but what puts these movies over the billion dollar mark is repeat business. It had a huge opening weekend, but most people left the theater not wanting to see it again and telling people they knew to avoid it.
I know. Zack Snyder doesn't either and that is why your expanded universe is dead now.
>and he probably knew that and demanded RDJ money.
I Imagine he was getting paid more than RDJ was. At least at the time of TDK. RDJ at the time of Iron Man was regarded as some washed up drug addict nobody gave a fuck about
Can't really argue with Marvel's results. Build a fanbase for a particular character and they'll be there when they appear again.
Those Spider-Man Homecoming Great Wall posters were commissioned by Disney. But yes, Chinese theaters often use fanmade posters because they can’t tell the difference and basically use whatever they can find off Google (or Chinese equivalent)
>Literal crying feelsman heroine
liberal = brain cancer
That's because you are a dcuck with a dead franchise and zero common sense
you could not be more wrong
So, it did stop the success of The Avengers?
This but unironically.
>you
>point
Which was?
A little input : went to the theaters with my friend. He doesn't go online to see trailers, isn't aware of critics or anything, pure pleb (I didn't give him my opinion on any of the two movies beforehand, to keep him "virgin").
We had the choice between Thro and JL, he chose Thor, because he didn't like BvS and didn't care much about JL.
About Thor : he didn't even know Hulk was in the movie and yet had chosen going to see this one. Even if the previous Thor movies weren't good, he had seen them and the Avengers movies too. He wanted to check it out.

Oh no no nonono
The thing about Avengers is that since the post-credit scene in Iron Man, people got hyped by the idea of it. That 4 years of building anticipation.
Are we even getting Black Manta as the upcoming Aquaman movie villain?
Brotherly love
A black dude they don't have to race swap a character for? He'll be in it for sure.
That said, he's only a side character. Ocean Master (Aquamans brother?) Is the main villain.
Aquaman commenting about the league was pretty kino
Yes
>Aquamans brother
Are we getting an Ocean Thor? After Black Panther being Black Thor, that's a lot of related Thor movies, lately...
