Twenty years in Gotham, Alfred; we've seen what promises are worth. How many good guys are left...

>Twenty years in Gotham, Alfred; we've seen what promises are worth. How many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?

WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN? WHO HAS CHANGED? We've never seen this version of Gotham before.

God this dialogue sucks so much and rings of typical Goyer "Tell, don't show".

SHOW

DON'T

TELL

Robin is Joker idk maybe Harvey Dent

That would require another movie.

I thought it worked fine. Helped establish the world they live in.

This. What matters what he is talking about? You get glimpse of the tragedy of Batman's story,

it's enoguh

Green arrow

Because it's not so much about Gotham as it is about how Bruce changed and grew more cynical after all his time as Batman.

It established jackshit. People just don't give a fuck about what they are saying. It's like old men having a conversation. We want batman not gran torino.

>he picks one of the very very few decent scenes snyder has directed to shit on

Snyder thought DKR and Death of Superman are really cool so he literally jumped ahead to that part of the setting without doing anything in that leads up to it and helps define the characters.

It's a typical trait of the millennial mindset where it's all about instant gratification with zero buildup.

Snyder is the equivalent of a plen that walks into a comic book store, goes for the DC shelf and grabs whatever is most popular overall.

He fucked up the entire cinematic universe sequence. Batman is already in his DKR phase, Superman got killed and came back BEFORE JLA is even formed. It's just stupid.

THIS.

DC ruined Batman and only deluded DCucks defend it. Hell, even the show Gotham got Gotham all wrong as well.

The only pure and remaining Batman story we'll see is in the Arkham games.

>bashing Gotham

kys my man

BvS is the biggest Out of character batman i've ever seen.
I feel like synder self inserted into Superman and because of this he shat on Batman turning him into an old facist grandpa afraid of everything, who can't stop grieving, because he needs an excuse to make Superman shine.
Funny when TDK returns is the exact opposite.

thats funny... imo he's the best batman put on screen

>old fascist grandpa

Hence the literal Dick Cheney reference

"World greatest detective"
Can't even investigate a bit on superman and his identity (what lex did in 2mn). No, lets kill him instead for some reason.
Hell even the fucking gvt of america was less retarded and proceed to talk with superman.

What does he mean, good guys?
Gordon is still around and as far as I know he's probably the only guy Batman trusts.
Also, generally speaking why doesn't Superman bother to fight crime in Gotham? Those cities are right next to each other and Gotham is a shothole compared to Metropolis.

>old facist grandpa afraid of everything, who can't stop grieving

Accurately describes Batman in TDKR

you don't know much about movies or movie writing or writing.

that line was good, and it made sense to tell what happened instead of what, showing a montage of all of batman's 20 years career?

Also, the movie is referencing countless other movies and comic books where we saw good people go bad

the movie does the "show don't tell" thing with batman seeing the destruction of goku vs vegeta fight, batman staring at the vandalized robin suit

In any case SHOW DON'T TELL as a golden rule to never break is retarded. You don't have to SHOW DON'T TELL every single bit of information- moron

>WHERE ARE QUIBS AN FUNNY DIS MAKE NO SENSE

But millenials love unneeded origin stories and having everything explained instead of experienced, see also all the prequels for millenials like prometheus or the planet of the apes which shows how the virus was developed etc. Who cares about this shit it's the death of imagination.
Why can't a world be fully formed with an unexplained but hinted at past? George Miller planned Justice league version had zero extended universe solo movies buildup and origin stories, it started with the league already assembled with small hints of how they came to be through their interactions and he's an old timer, not a millenial.

>Dude, its not my batman
he did enough detective work to find out what he wanted

This dialogue assumes that normies know Batman lore, despite this being a completely unfounded universe. Truth is Snyder is a hack and just thought this sounded cool.

>IM DEFINITELY BLEEDING SOMEWHERE

I think the better question is why would he need to spell out specific examples to make his point when Alfred is fully aware of all the events alluded to?

You forget that these characters are talking to one another, not to you.

Bruce doesn't need to say "REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO ROBIN!?" because of course Alfred does.

Simply stating that 'a lot of bad stuff happened over the years' is enough because there's no knowledge gap between them on the subject that requires filling.

batman "lore" is pretty mainstream senpai

people become corrupt and take money from the bad guys you fuckin marlet

Subtle nod to the death of Robin, then the fall of Harvey Dent.

>You forget that these characters are talking to one another, not to you.
thats not how movies work user otherwise movies would make no sense and there would be no expositions used ever

And now the old Batman is going to play Dick Cheney. Coincidence??

THEY

LITERALLY

SHOWED

YOU

DUMBASS.

You're the fucking dipshit demanding to be told.

>Twenty years in Gotham, Alfred. The kikes and their banks have been running things for twenty years.

how did he get away with this?

Showed us what?
they didn't show anything besides bruce complainign to alfred. We are left to assume everything and it makes no sence

>the joker robin suit

And if you say you needed more information you're just a pleb that can't into subtlety
>but that's not subtle
Even worke, cause then you're literally to dumb to understand blunt references

>we should assume Robin became the joker because of the suit

No

So batman us angry about a guy with superpowers trying to stop the end of mankind because some civilians died in the process but is perfectly fine with th us army killing millions of muslims???

"you have gotten too old to die young"

HURR DURR WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW A MONTAGE OF BATMAN AGING INSTEAD OF TELLING

SHOW

DON'T

TELL

Yes we got it batman is a retard oldpa who failed everything. So why doesnt he retire instead?
