It was okay but it seems like the only people that like it like it for gender TF which is gross af. The idea of a"card game" played out by actually transporting to locations and creating items/spells that also requires you to explore a fantasy world to find that stuff is cool, but the show was really badly paced and formulaic.

I liked it for the politics between the tribes in Perim. The morals were pleasantly grey. You'd think the Overworlders would be the good guys and the Underworlders would be bad but they're both just portrayed as sympathetic groups that look out for their own interests. Same with the Mipedians and Danians. I mean King Chaor of the Underworlders looks like a demon you'd fight in Doom but he's Bro-tier. I love his relationship with Kaz.
And the 4 main human characters each preferred a different tribe, with friends that helped them get scans from their respective tribe.

I swear, Sup Forums has this bizarre cosmic magic or something, the moment I think of anything remotely obscure suddenly a thread is made about it on some board, even if that particular topic almost never has threads.
That's just the first season. The art evolution through the series is really impressive, but I don't know if it's worth going through one season of poorly done flash.
I mean it's not the only show I've enjoyed with bad animation. Dan Vs. is an example.

I find it worth it. Even with the flash it still pretty enjoyable when I rewatch the series. Season one has this weird charm to it for me.

Mugic is just an awesome idea in general. Taking musical concepts and attaching logical spell effects to them.
The idea of Mugic was probably my favorite thing out of Chaotic because of it's use of classical music.

As a franchise it was actually doing really well. They were planning lots of new card sets and arcs in the show which was getting better and better and then it all got shut down abruptly. It was a legal thing I think but I'm not sure of the specifics.
It might have even had something to do with Yu-Gi-Oh and Konami. It reall sucks though because it was a fun game. Pretty much the first trading card game you could play online I think.

Yeah it was a fun twist on that bullshit trope.
To be fair even though the detail in the new animation was much improved it could be choppy at times. While the movement in the original Flash animation was always smooth even if it was that unnatural tweeny Flash smoothness. The new animation was definitely better though.
