What did DC mean by this?

What did DC mean by this?

what DC meant... well I'll say it nice and quite for you.
EARTH 2 IS THROUGH, NO MORE SHITTY ULTIMATE MARVEL FOR YOU

>Captain Cold

I find it really weird they keep resorting to non-Golden Age characters to fill their world. I think Robinson was the only guy who kept that up. Like for instance the reason the Mr. Freeze guy on Earth 2 was Mr. Icicle is because Icicle was an Alan Scott villain.

What happens if you merge New 52 Earth 2 (and all its subsequent destructions and rebirths) with the Ultimate Universe post-Ultimatum?

It's the non-letter page way to cancel a book in an era where DC can afford to announce it, even if obliquely as with this, and Marvel just does it on the down low and acts all embarrassed and ashamed

> there are people who unironically label their homeworld as #2.

Bad writers are just bad, mate.

Well their first homeworld blew up

When Dr M, Ozy, Mxy or Primeboy Will delete this garbage earth?

It will fall apart as soon as Power Girl is brought back to the main earth.
I can't imagine DC without having Power Girl around.
She sell too many statue for that.

The only people who care about PeeGee is Palmiotti and Conner, and those two are already using her in Harley's book

>alternate universe
>no status quo
>new possibilities
>writers zero in on permadeath instead

why does this always happen

>Earth 2 came first
>called Earth 2

This confused me to no end as a youngster. I can only imagine how readers at the time felt.

No status quo with any new possibilities is terrifying to hack writers because they'll actually have to tell creative original stories so they just retreat to the easy permadeath of recognizable characters.

Thank god I hope that happens.

>initial premise is what if there's no Trinity
>Only 4 of those 11 characters aren't Trinity related

What went wrong?

its strange how didio shitcanned elseworlds because they all devolved into destruction porn and alternate superman/batmans but then earth 2 turned into the same thing and got to stick around for so long

It wouldn't be a return to the pre-flashpoint status-co.

Whne they will lauch the JSA they will need classic face. Power Girl

Probably not much. Almost every DC title was set on Earth-1, the current Earth. It was only a few guest appearances and eventually the revival of All-Star Comics that were set on the other Earth.

And then Earth-2 heroes were brutally murdered during Infinite Crsis. Ah, ending with E2 Supes and Lois was awesome.

No, E2 Peeg needs to stay there.

The solution of course to get a Kryptonian Power Girl in the main universe is COIE Kara from Convergence. You get the "outsider stranded from another world" thing with her too.

uhh... because their first Earth got Darkseid'd

Earth 2 was very bad at being golden age. The most old school it ever felt was 90s DARK AND KILLY.

Can't editorial just stop writers from going "muh destruction and death" somehow? Isn't their jib to reign in stupidity?

>ywn read the Earth-2 adventures of a guy with a trained bee living in his belt buckle

>Isn't their jib to reign in stupidity?

Not if the books sale or is a lost cause and just buying time

Source?

The Amalgam equivalent of the Ultimate/Earth 2 universes.

>in this earth, the remains of earth 7 and earth 2 combined to create a new earth where Super Captain was the first hero aided by the super kryptonite serum made from a meteorite. Other heroes include the wonder spider, the splash and batbulk

i guess that's the catch 22

if you put your writers on a leash then you may as well just have them write about the normal universe

but if you don't they'll sperg out over muh permadeath

Kek, I never saw Red Tornado #1 before.

Ideally you have one head creator who has an idea for the whole thing to drive the status quo there.

And they did do that, but then they ran him off. Oops.

She's a great character from one of the companies DC bought over the years. With all the pushes for diversity that have been going on, I'm surprised that they haven't given her a book. Strict fat mom who does super hero stuff must fill some kind of diversity or feminism quota.

DC rebooted a lot of Golden Age characters with a sci-fi angle.

The Red Tornado name went from Ma Hunkel to an android, The Atom went from a manlet too actually shrinking, GL's ring became alien tech, etc.

Hopefully they'll restore her as the caretaker of the JSA in rebirth like they did pre-flashpoint.

>manlet to actual shrinking
>when you're so bad at your skilled strong fighter who overcomes his limits schtick that the suits think your deal is being short

I still miss them.

I hope they rather move forward with the JSA rather than staying the same. They should continue the time line forward from when they left rather than introduce them again.

When they bring back the old JSA, it would be neat if they just ended up spawning the original earth 2 where new 52 earth 2 used to be before it was destroyed and the wonders were given earth 2-2.

Otherwise, i'd rather they went with the JSA being in their own time instead of the present or the present but not quite.
