Is it true that if it's announced to be a trilogy it will be made no matter how the box office look?

No? Lots of movies have tried to kickstart franchises, and failed. You just don't remember most of them.

Which movie?

NAME AT LEAST 28 EXAMPLES

kung pow enter the fist

That egg cracking open

Lmao that poor bitch died for like 3 straight minutes. So unnecessarily drawn out compared to any other death in the movie.

>shitty movie references a much better one

let the games begin

The most hilarious attempt at this was Guy Richie's King Arthur. Literally nobody is interested in that dogshit becoming a franchise.

Dark Universe was more laughable.

Are these supposed to be a sequel promise or just a formula like Easter eggs or something?
To me I like monster movies to have a last jump scare or a implication but I don't really expect them to have sequels based on that.
I think the real sequel promise is a line that says "Bond will return in [title]"

Cillian Murphy was in Tron for 2 seconds for no reason and I always assumed it was for a bigger role in the potential sequel.

Also tons of YA movies do this, The Mortal Instruments series comes to mind.

You forgot Justice League

Had a cartoon sequel.

Justice League

>Jason X
That felt less like a sequel setup and more like a general "twist" ending. Like, you know Jason's not dead ten movies in, so you might as well just confirm it in the final scene.
