No, it's because they wanted a sequel, a proper one, and they were so devastated by the prequels a more-of-the-same was almost the best they could ever hope for, so when it was a carbon copy of ANH they went "well, at least it didn't go for something new and fucking terrible".

It's literally the same exact reason Mike liked Jurassic World, because it's a soft reboot of Jurassic Park.

TDKR is just so ripe for mockery. From the plane scene to the ending shot, every plot point, every character motivation, every detail, is completely pants-on-head retarded. It's a shame no one has taken the time to dissect just how stupid everything is in that movie. BB and TDK had a few silly things in them too, but they still managed not to assault your suspension of disbelief with every fucking scene. We all know and love the plane scene, but the truth is that EVERY scene in that movie is just as ridiculous and comical.

It'd be one thing if Nolan admitted he just phoned it in to wrap the trilogy up, but no! He says it's his proudest work! It's fucking insane.

I think they tried to make her a bitch at first and then soften up over time but it wasn't done well and you don't really see much of it. Maybe in the next movie she'll learn to eat with her mouth shut as character growth.

You could argue this already sort of happened with Finn.

She's the protagonist, in the second movie of each trilogy the main character loses a limb to the bad guy. Watch as she doesn't have to. Hell, I bet it's gonna be her turning briefly to the dark side, slicing Ren again and then swiftly reverting back because a female sith doing evil shit is literal rape.
