If there's any American superhero I can get behind it's Captain America, because he actually stands for the shit you're supposed to. Iron Man is just an arms-dealer that had to almost die before he grew a conscience, and then he just decided to fly around beating people up in person to make up for it in-between whining about his oh-so-terrible richfag superstar life. Cap on the other hand is the son of immigrants with a very good moral base that got to rise beyond his potential to fight nazis, and is always aware of how lucky he was to get that opportunity. I think there's room for counterculture in America—there's fandom here for pretty much any sort of media. To me the most annoying aspect of American influence is the fast food culture. If I don't want to see an American movie it's easy to not do so, but if you take a walk outside you are immediately bombarded by McDonald's, Subway, Domino's, KFC etc. Why is the most influential aspect of your ''culture'' also the shittiest?

European here, i once met someone from the US who said "america doesnt have a culture"... i thought he was joking, but he meant it. Thing is, I actually think the USA does have a culture, but it exports it everywhere, you can go to any continent and hear american music on the radio for instance. because the USA exports its culture worldwide, it appears to be bland, culturally. but thats only because american culture is literally everywhere.
