Yeah, but what about artistic merit?

>"question"
>"answer"

>a very timely condemnation of trumpian style rhetoric, in a country that so desperately needs to heal

>a love ballad to the x genre

>one biracial orphans open letter to the country that led her to believe she belonged, a triumph of mumblecore mastery and kitschy jewish teen angst that makes you feel like you were really in brooklyn

>movie described as "brave"

>master class in acting

>challenges the status quo

>dazzlingly subversive and ever so best-coast chic, this caffeinated amalgam of lena dunhamisms and wokeness personified results soundly in a coming of age flick for the modern non binary latinX, it's Annie Hall meets OITNB meets rollerball, and it's kind of amazing.

How do you come up with this shit

>Library of Congress deems a film to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"

>fuck drumpf and fuck white people

Probably a sativa

>glib facsimile

...

>”Why making (character) African American is great for everyone.”

>"an instant classic"

My least favorite is the little RT quips that go something like...

>it’s a flashy, loud, and pretty to look at.. but unfortunately that’s about as deep as it gets.

Just that setting it up with the obvious fake compliments and the quick 180 scorning it

...

>"A mesmerizing spellbinder. You've never seen anything like it. Oh baby, you have no idea." Rolling Stone Peter Travers

>user's trips are flashy, repeating and pretty to look at.. but unfortunately that's about as deep as his post gets

YOU BASTARD

Is this a Washington Post headline?

Actually, even if the critics hate a film like 13 Hours, you look into the source of the blurbs that they use and they're from some of the actual positive reviews.

If it's not fun, it doesn't have artistic merit.

>critics rave, "a triumph"

Unironically, what did they mean by this? By what metric can one deem a film "a triumph"

They just used triumph because it has the letters from trump.

>Peter Travers of Rolling Stone calls it....

Why do they like that guy so much? I have never seen a single good review from him.

...

As the posters say, "It's alt-right to be white."

>It takes a hard look at race in America

>A high octane thrill ride

>this movie doesn't exactly reinvent the weel

>inspired by true events

>Rolling Stone Peter Travers
Is he the other world version of Armond White?

If it contains extraordinary feats of filmmaking, I suppose, the intelligent way to say "holy hell how the fuck did they do that"

...

>a delusional freak show of two hours of pretentious twaddle that tackles religion, paranoia, lust, rebellion, and a thirst for blood in a circus of grotesque debauchery to prove that being a woman requires emotional sacrifice and physical agony at the cost of everything else in life, including life itself

>a real tour de france

>critics describe a film as "poo poo pee pee"

...

>tfw the international trailer for War of the Gargantuas calls it "an important film of our age"

>Sup Forums describes the film as 'it's shit'

>the film the alt-right tried to ban
