How episodic did this show turn out to be?
I checked out after episode one because I figured that even if it got picked up a couple of times, it would only resolve the actual plot in like a series finale after they were sure they couldn't get picked up again.
How far does it extend? Just in name or all assets? If they were to make a new show that for whatever reason was a 'knock off' of SBT and continued where the show left off who could sue them and how?

Being an animation director is not like being a huge movie star that can demand a large payout. There are lots of people in film and television, even higher ranking guys (especially in shit like animation) that don't get millions of dollars for every job. If he was working on salary under the collective agreement that Sony has with the Animation Guild of America he'd be making at most $50/hour which is respectable but not enough to retire on after one or two years.
