How would Willy even pull that off? I know Clint is implied to be a rich benefactor of the school, but I don't think rich benefactors even have the power to transfer students to other schools without consent.
I think I know what's one of the many things wrong with "Dumbing of Age", and it's what people are saying is wrong with "Mass Effect: Andromeda". The characters in the comic are put in situations that are serious, disheartening, or at the very least stressful. But the characters themselves treat them with lightness and sarcasm.
Case in point, OP's new strip. Ruth is aware that whatever happened between Sir Clint and Chloe, it involved moving Billie out of the dormitory. Rather than having her take a seat or not to panic or something like that before breaking the news to her, Ruth just casually mentions that it's happening.
And there are plenty of other instances of this sort of thing happening as well, such as the way that Walky reacts to Dorothy opening up to him and helping him with his math studies. Walky could be more level-headed about it, but he reacts with puppy-dog eyes as if he just wet himself and also if he were five years old.
It's tonal and/or situation dissonance is what it is. People aren't reacting the way that actual humans would react.

It's sort of like a Frankenstein's monster of characterization and personality. They hit all the marks of individual elements of humanity, but when they come together they form something that doesn't actually resemble what it wants to be. And it wants to be human.

I can't get over how terribly Mary is written. I get it, there needs to be some kind of villain here, but this is so over-the-top it's ridiculous.
No human being acts as brutally and bluntly as Mary does, not in this day and age. I get it's fiction, but it's also kind of a slice of life. Instead of taking a new angle on a villain that's Transphobic or whatever, Mary is just a mustache-twiddling 1930s asshole who ties trannies to railroad tracks.

How terribly all his villains are written, you mean. It's not even a question, his villains are blatantly, purposefully written not as characters, but as caricatures meant to get a pitiful kick or two in before getting their metaphorical asses handed to them by their plucky oppressed victims.
Worryingly, this is of course how Willis and his fans see people who aren't on their "side" IRL: at best as non-people, but in most cases simply monsters who are evil for the sake of evil. I don't doubt that an alarming number secretly (or not so secretly) believe these people need to be jailed or even put down.

I do like that Billie freaks out about Ruth having to keep being RA. It kinda retroactively makes her smarmy behaviour more understandable. She though Ruth was out of the job so she was being way more levitous than she should've been.
Although, Ruth could just go to Chloe's office and turn down the job? It seems like the real issue is housing and finance, and I'm really confused why that wasn't explored at all yet. It's like she didn't expect to actually lose the job in the first place.

Is someone drawing OC of your character without your consent and then sharing the image with you and only you considered bad in the art world? I don't know that world well, and i've had a few people do this for me for characters I have in an RP game. I share the images publicly there and have never heard a complaint about it from the artists, and was considering uploading them to e621 since they're a few years old at this point, but wasn't sure if something -that- public would be some sort of taboo.

It is actually lacking in self-awareness once you learn the specifics of Willis' Christian upbringing, namely that Willis' parents were the type to up and switch churches the moment they didn't like something to the point that his dad tried to start his own church. I asked one of the artists who did one if I could upload it there and she actually asked me not to because she thought it might be recognized as one of her works. She's since gone on to make a lot of porn of her loli-looking characters so I don't think she cares too much anymore, but since I rarely talk to her these days I wasn't sure about how she'd feel about it since it's been a long while since the initial drawing and wasn't sure of art-protocol, thank you for being helpful user.

Implied rules still are rules, just ones you contractually don't have to follow unless someone asks you not to, but even then he wouldn't -have- to unless it was in a commission agreement or whatever you do for paid work. I see a lot of furry artists posting commissions they've done to their public galleries for example. I can understand why they would, since getting your art out there is a big part of commissions in the first place, but still, somebody paid for them to do this special thing for them, I think it's pretty dickish(and furries and their artists aren't known for their morals sadly, but most people who get commissions from that community don't seem to care anyway, it's a form of masturbation to have your OC drawn,) to just up and share it with everyone for free once it's been fully paid for unless you tell them straight up you're going to do it, or not wait, say, a year or so to put it up. Someone who's making that much money probably wouldn't give a fuck, since going to small claims court over a 300 dollar drawing of some lesbians facemashing each other wouldn't be a big deal if he lost one or two drawings over it.
