NETFLAX BRINGING CYBERPUNK KINO BACK ON THE MENU GET IN HERE BROS

oh shit netflix made something interesting looking
I bet money that it's shit though

>main character is an actor with the personality of a wet rag
dropped

This will either infuriate me or put a smile on my face...

>you'll never have the memories of a hundred copies of you in a ceaseless orgy with a hundred copies of some rich cunt at every age slammed into your brain

feels bad man

is the book worth reading

>netflix
not even clicking

titty!!!

aww hell yeah

isnt that the plot of pic related?

>Loud = good

i love that it is a tv series, based on the trailer alone, id think its another netflix movie, cgi looks kinda crappy but i guess they have a limited budget

What happened to MUTE?

Takashi kovachs has the personality of a wet rag.

The books were kinda crap. So everytime he meets someone they're going to try and kill him?

looks like the kind of meme movie that's taylor-made for reddit

>I need to rent the body of your boyfriend to get fucked for the first time in decades
It's true even when he's getting laid he's actually cucking himself

It's in post-prod, slated for next year. I wonder what the budget was though, considering how Duncan flopped with Warcraft.

The Takeshi Kovacs books are some of my favorites, so it's nice to see they're getting adapted. It's violent, basically x-rated cyberpunk with some pretty neat ideas. The show looks like it's absolutely nailing the aesthetic, but we'd better get some daytime scenes of San Fransisco as well as night ones. One thing that the book gets across really well is just how little the city changes in about five hundred years; aside from the technology, it's not exactly grand. I'm keen to see how they do the stuff like the synthetic bodies and the proper cyborgs.

This
I WANT A FUCKING TRAILER NOW
I'VE WAITED YEARS FOR THIS MOVIE
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>future california is a slum hellhole.
Seems about right.

Is that somehow different than present California?

Yes, it's a pretty good ride.

Yes. Nobody saw it though.

i can't help but feel l like they'll inject an agenda of some sort into my future

Of course they will.

>Netflix show
Gross

Joel Kinnaman's Chad Republican character in House of Cards should have won the election, but instead was instead defeated by a Deus ex Machina and bad writing.

>Character is called Takeshi
>Played by a white dude

Was this thing already filming when GITS got crucified for the same thing?

it's amazing

All the books so far are great.

he's actually from a planet that was populated by japanese and eastern europeans. his consciousness is put into a white guys body on earth so he can go on a kick ass noir adventure

Looks like a shitty version of Kaiba.

Looks interesting, I'll watch it.

>Waited since 2002 for the Battle Angel movie.
>finally get a trailer this Friday

Have I finally made it?

>CYBERPUNK KINO
Why is Sup Forums so low IQ?

Will Blade Runner finally get the sequel it deserves?

Cinnaman can be a decent actor, he's good in "The Killing"

Considering Cameron gave it to Robert Rodriguez? no
also just found out rodriguez has finished the script for his escape from new york remake wtf

>69ing with Waspfu right in the trailer
nice

yeah, when i heard that my expectations for alita dropped through the fucking floor

I worked on a movie with the guy. Pretty chilled fella.

Netflix shows all feel like millennialWalMart. No directorial vision, just groupthink. Vice Principals is the only series, the only one, that has unique creatve vision.

inb4 they put it in the vault next to the other Robert Rodriguez movie that won't be released until the year 2115

>Bидoизмeнeнный yглepoд
reeeeee

>James Purefoy
Nice

i don't remember reileen being an action person. she was more of an evil mastermind person.

Alright netflix wants to adapt one of the best cyberpunk novels. Rule number one... don't fuck it up!

That wasn't her in the 69.

they made quell black :(

...
why tho

it's because they will, it's Netflix we're talking about

That's nice

I'm pretty sure they've already finished filming

based titty poster

original kovacs is good tho

Can only white dudes have noir adventures? Dont missunderstand, I could give a fuck about muh diversity but they're setting themselves up for a publicity nightmare for what seems to be no reason.

True remark but that's because Vice principals is a HBO show

I just want to finally get the closure and see the trailer this Friday, it may even be a whole clip but no idea.

at least James Cameron wrote it right??!!

Except Cameron didn't write it. Laeta kalogrides did, which is funny because she also wrote altered cargo and Terminator genisys

Why are we still here? Just to suffer?

I'm not optimistic but I'll give it a shot; looks like they shamelessly aped Blade Runner instead of doing something unique and interesting.

jumpst on BR hype
it's a dud
uh oh

fuck yes
we need more cyperpunk adaptations

dropped

Are those budget sleeves?

I read this book, don't remember much about it at all really. For some reason, I like cyberpunk stuff on film better than in print. Which kind of sucks. I like other sci-fi in print just fine. Perhaps it stems from hack writing for cyberpunk.

How many strong women did you count in the trailer?

I have. Barely remember it, but I saw it.

Read the book a long time ago. And some of the ones after it. All overrated and quite mediocre. No new ideas, just rehashed old ones like digital personality storage, clone bodies, and time subjective digital realities.

The books are 6/10 at best. Still better written than utter trash like The Expanse though. A tv series might be okay, if felt like it was written like a graphic novel at times anyway, sometimes translation to a new media for material like this can actually end up better than the original. But don't get your hopes up.

looks like shit

Book one 8/10
Book two 5/10
Book three 3/10

I hope to god then only base it around the first book and its story, ir that the shows screenplay sees massive rewrites.
The sequels were one of the worst cash grabs i saw, botcher everything about the original, ruin every bit of characterization the protagonist had and become an endless string of pointless violence.
I hate how the "fans" will mindlessly defend those sequels, Morgan too only few months to scrap together the fallow up, Broken Angels, the third one is a joke.
