Not pissed off, I guess. But it's common knowledge the film was a social commentary about the violent aspects of the police institution. Padilha and Wagner Moura are notoriously left wing as well.

But yes, people loved the police brutality and Cap. Nascimento is a hero. Also, the language used is so full of slangs it's almost impossible to fully translate the dialogues. They're so funny people can recite full scenes.

Padilha's biggest mistake was directing that shitty RoboCop remake.
