obviously there's more to it than getting this land and setting up tea/opium/fur trade with china....there has to be more to life than just MAKE MONEY GET PUSSY.
Sup Forums lets brainstorm possible future outcomes and motivations for James Keziah Delaney.

*calls you a nigger again while you're reading this spoiler text*
Aaron Diaz
Wny not?
Money and plentiful native poon.
Brayden Foster
can someone explain to me without mumbling what the appeal to this show is. i tried getting through the first season but i was just bored by tom hardy who i am a huge fan of. he seemed like a mary sue who didn't afraid of anyone but besides him everything was boring
John Hall
good point heard native american girls have tight pussies
David Young
Why would there have to be more than controlling trade with China? Do you understand how valuable that potentially is? The Dutch East Indies Company controlled Europe for more than a century because they had similar access to Asian ports.
David Butler
You're a company man...aren't you?
Brody Morris
careful now
Xavier Gutierrez
You have to be a man to understand the show, women can't seem to grasp such basics of power and tradition portrayed on a television show.
Alexander White
what did the torture man do to James before they did the waterboarding and tripping? it looked like he took a giant grater to his leg or something but i couldn't tell.
Christopher Rivera
It's more to do sticking it up to the companies ass. the company took out Delaney's father and also tried set him up in a slave trade racket, he was just taking revenge. Getting a profitable land was secondary benefit on all this.
Grayson Parker
mmmmh powdah mmm
Jose Walker
Gorgeous production values, great score, memes. Seriously. The performances range from good to cheesy to whatever the fuck Tom Hardy is doing, which in my opinion is the main draw. He's so compellingly fucking weird you want to see what the freak will do next. I think it's a matter of finding him funny in the first place, it certainly helped for me that Delaney was such an odd character that I just enjoyed watching him and his band of outsiders as he goes about. The Sup Forums memes were also partly to blame for my enjoyment, nootkaposting was the funniest shit when it was alive.
Connor Foster
FUCKING DELANEY
Ayden Martinez
Indeed!
Lincoln Howard
First season was him just being pitted against basically children by comparison and while it was very entertaining, I really hope season 2 brings up someone his own size as his enemy
Andrew Gutierrez
I was thinking maybe Americans of a sort? Perhaps they want the land, or England in the Pacific? There were rough folk in the west at his time, so it could very well be a formidable enemy.
Ian Cook
Mhmm, Nootka...
Lucas Anderson
>I really hope season 2 brings up someone his own size as his enemy
Julian Jenkins
You're a Nootka guy
Luis Morris
Mhmmm for you
Christopher Long
JUST GIVE ME A FUCKING SHIP
Luis Evans
I have a use for you, mhmm.
Tyler Hill
i meant to say more to the story, as in, a larger and deeper motivation, as in, his end game is saving his mom's people and land or something more meaningful than just making lots of money through trade with china.
i'm genuinely bored of stories that are just about getting the mcguffin bag of cash or some guy trying to climb the social ladder and become richer and richer.
it would obviously make sense that he's also motivated to get some sort of revenge against the british east india company.
and of course it sounds like he feels remorse against his role in the sinking of that slave ship.
Cameron White
what are you talking about? did you even watch the show. he almost died from the two assassination attempts, first the malay stabbed him and second the giant with the club...obviously the story makes it so that he survives because he's the protagonist but it was a compelling near-death experience both times.
Ayden Smith
I wonder will they meed this season.
Alfie returns tonight in episode 4.
Hudson Bennett
>the shipping manifest lists tea, my whores, Dr. Cholmondeley here but only one of mhmm
Logan Stewart
I don't mean physically, he just played everyone like a fiddle from the EIC to the 'Americans' to even his sister's husband because everyone expected him to play by the "modern man"'s rules (e.g. weak to bribery, intimidation and pride)
Someone to meet his match would be very different and I think it'd be quite a spectacle indeed which is why I'm hoping for such a figure in season two
Lucas Thompson
>I wonder will they meed this season
It definitely seems likely, given the CIA's boxer son plotline (and Tommy making a comment about introducing the son to Alfie Solomon)
Owen Jenkins
agree, but then again we have to recognize the entire story is built around his character and most likely his character's success in the series finale.
i saw the first season only recently, and my thought the entire time was: why doesn't the EIC and/or the Royal crown just crush him? they do try to kill him and fail and it seems like they just give up until they can finally get him in jail through indirect manipulation of helga. it just seemed ridiculous, since either EIC or the Crown are all powerful, why would they need to go through all this maneuvering to *legally* get his land. who cares? can't they just seize it from him.
so yes the only explanation is that they are trying to play by gentlemanly/legal rules to get the land, and only play dirty with gloves off (blowing up his ship, killing the mulatto girl to frame him) when they get desperate.
in the end the story is interesting only because we tend to see tom hardy as the tough "Alpha" male, and his opponents are weak little faggot cucks (e.g. the board members of EIC and king george are all fat and old), so that could also be why...it's the classic story of some young, scrappy guy running circles around the older, more powerful elites even though they can outgun him.
at the end of the day it's a work of fiction by hardy & dad & friend so of course they will weave it in a way that lets delaney narrowly escape. this doesn't make him a "mary sue"...it just makes him a typical protagonist in a story structured for him to go through trials and tribulations, so we feel the drama and tension (oh no, will he get out of prison, etc etc) and continue watching until the next episode.
Kayden Clark
Mrs. Delaney
Aaron Anderson
So I saw this shit popping around Sup Forums for awhile in meme form, without referencing the title, and somehow I ended up thinking this was peaky blinders. Imagine my surprise when tom hardy shows up as a mumbling jew.
Tyler Campbell
Mmm I have a use for you...
Nathaniel Sanders
Tom hardy is the only reason to watch the show/ that is the appeal.
Wyatt Robinson
mommy
Lincoln Carter
Be very careful now...mmm..
Jackson Reed
She was so sexy in Taboo. Holy shit.
Bentley Gomez
Which ones is harder to understand?
Justin Collins
What was the point of the incest plotline? I mean it was cool to see Nootka fuck his sister in her dreams but other than what other purpose did it serve?
Jackson Ross
Was too late for nootka posting. God damn. Loved the show though.
Matthew Clark
>it just seemed ridiculous, since either EIC or the Crown are all powerful, why would they need to go through all this maneuvering to *legally* get his land. who cares? can't they just seize it from him They could technically just march troops into the land and take it by force, but the problem with that is three state-level actors (America, EIC, British Crown) are all vying for control of the land with Delaney in the middle and any military move by one of them would be an act of war.
Levi Nguyen
Taboo definitely, he just speaks rubbish in there.
