The director literally forgot to film some scenes and realized it while editing.

This, apparently it is genuinely an unfinished film and it's kind of absurd that such a project made it to completion. Even the CinemaScore, which is usually pretty forgiving, is quite low for this one.

Assassin's Creed is one of the most massively successful video game series of all time, it actually makes a lot of sense that Ubisoft had an enormous amount of money to spend on top-notch actors.

It's a pretty enjoyable movie. You can guess what it's missing as it goes on. I saw it in the theater and I don't regret it.
