What am I in for?
A solid movie all around, fantastic characters and all, but really the Godfather I & II so much better it's unreal
For some prime Mob kino. Also Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci's best performances ever.
its good
ya fuckin' mutt
Goodfellas > The Godfather
Suddenly random quotes you hear all the time will make sense now.
It's good, but it's rather shallow so if you think it's one of the best ever you reveal yourself as a pleb.
one guys lookin one way the others lookin the other way
It's not shallow just because it's successful. It's the best film anyone could've possibly made about the mafia in America, it makes The Godfather look like a soap opera by comparison.
a very good system for cutting garlic
No it is shallow. The cinematic techniques are obvious and the moral attitude uneasy. The movie is pretty much Scorsese indulging in his boyhood fantasy of joining the mafia.
>the moral attitude
imagine being this low iq
But the film, like Starship Troopers, is infinitely rewatchable.
Art and morality has always had a strong link and ignoring it gives way towards destructive cynicism.
wise guys
I got a little loaded. I didn'tmean any disrespect.
best american movie
Shoe-shining
A shitload of tropes that were still kinda fresh in 90
>the moral attitude
>a film about mobsters
It’s my favorite film though I’d rather watch Casino at the moment.
Layla outro is only good because of this movie
bruh that scene with karen on the sidewalk after de niro tells her where to get the clothes. Shit scared the fuck out of me
You have to watch Casino right afterwards
If you see Scorsese as a cynical or amoral filmmaker, I don't think you understand his work at all. It's like you only watched the first half of all his movies.
HOOF
THERE IS A WHORE
>Godfather I & II so much better
Im not buying into this idea, what do I look like? A schmuck on wheels?
Henry says don't let the sauce stick
