It's the kind of stupidity that is involved in the idea of capeshit "universes".
First you make a character that is "not like any other" and makes him or her fight "that one battle that is one's destiny". Next step you create several other outstanding characters and epic battles that are not very different from the first one and you turn everything into a mush.
These characters are 50 or 70 years old, they are naive visions of what standing out means, constantly remade and revamped into every other possibility of genre to adapt to newer audiences while retaining the same name and a few elements.

After witnessing the events in her solo flick, she was supposed to abandon mankind at the end and return (in Justice League) only after being inspired by Superman's sacrifice. But Geoff Johns and Patty Jenkins changed the original ending (written by Zack Snyder) in the middle of the production because they thought the current real world doesn't deserve more cynicism/hatred especially since they're happening to make the first female Superhero flick and also to bring more fun, hope and optimism to their franchise as promised. Now it should explain why she isn't seen trying to save the world during the alien invasion or whatever. But they came up with some of the dumbest meme in JL saying she was hiding the whole time.
