I haven't seen proof of this. There are a handful of companies that emphasize their political beliefs in the media they produce. But for the most part, any major company will be prioritizing profit, by design.
In that regard, there are plenty of profit-related reasons to diversify a film, and few not to do so. In fact, keeping the cast 100% white can often incur some public backlash, even if there's a justifiable reason to do so.

I have no problem with diversity when it's done right. Take the Fast series for example a film series with a diverse cast that feels no need to draw attention to it.
