What is happening to cinemas right now? Even disney/pixar animations can't turn a profit anymore.

White people can't understand Mexikino
Beaners are annoying.
All the big movies come out around Christmas when the weather is shitty and all the family is around.
looks like spickino is back on the menu.
389M is not flopping, and the movie has not been released in markets like UK, Japan and Korea, so still could get some millions more.
Less people are going to the theaters because of streaming.
Why spend $50 to go to the movies when you could wait 6 months for it to hit netflix?
I think Pixar biggest fault was not releasing this during before Hallowen. Imagine all merch sales, all Coco burgues and toys sold.
>disney seriously thinks beaners will pay to go to theaters
hahaha
lol
Because it's generic shit. Like everything Disney produced nowdays. Other projects were saved by their target audiences - Frozen (little girls), Dory (nostalgiafags). Zootopia (furryshits) etc. Mexicans can't save this one
>Movie theater with Dolby
>shitty 15 inches laptop or 40 inches screen
Honestly, the "feel" of a movie theather is not even compared with Netflix at all.
How stupid is this.
On a 200M budget it’s not good. ESPECIALLY for a goliath like pixar
>Mexico most watched movie ever
>Surpassing Titanic, Avengers and a local comedy.
But it did really well in Mexico. Wasn’t that the point?
>15 inch laptop
>40 inch TV
Not all of us are poor
Oh I thought budget would be something like 50-100M, gee how do you spend 200M in movie made by few nerds in a computer?
>Movie theater
>people kicking your seats, week old popcorn, babies crying, teens on their phones or talking, can't bring your own snacks, can't lay down, movie selection limited to what the theater thinks will do well
The only time I enjoy the theater is when I'm seeing a 6 week old movie and it's empty.
This
>Yet another beaner "la muerte skellington" movie about a guy wanting to be a musician
>But instead of a matador we get a little beaner child
Yeah how about go fuck yourself with rehashing films that came out oh just a FEW YEARS AGO
Even if you have a 100 inches screen, you would need a 600GB rip of the movie to even compare it. Best BRrips are around 50-60GB only.
I mean I wouldn’t call this one a flop either 389M against 200M is good and I doubt they spent much on marketing the thing. It’s just surprisingly low for Disney/Pixar
Wont ever happen. Honestly I dont think streaming is the problem, since the only reliable way to seeevery movie a couple of months after it's out is torrenting and most people don't do that.
>389M against 200M is good
not really, studio doesn't take in all of that
I cant fuck bitches while watching a movie in a theater, check mate
The movie is very different and to be fair Book of life is like "American guy read a book and made a shitty fanfic based of Speedy Gonzalez", Coco is way more accurate depicting Mexicans and Mexican culture.
All the new disney movies end up on Netflix as soon as they hit Home media. Of course everything will change with Disney’s new streamin service
is this actually how theaters are in the US? Goddamn
>go to theater
>get shot
coco flopped because it's flawed at least in comparison to most of the other pixar movies of the last decade or so
it still has it's moments and the animation is fantastic but I guess for most modern day cinema goers that ain't enough
>Not having bed kino stations
Book of life was written and directed by a full, true blooded, SPIC. Pixar is a bunch of nerdy white guys from California
>because it's flawed at least in comparison to most of the other pixar movies
It's a got a 96%/8.2 rating on RT though, senpai.
People clap at the end of the movie too
Maybe if you live in a shitty area
Maybe for Disney but most new movies dont hit Netflix
It's no Moana
Considering the movie is about Day of the Dead, yeah they should have.
Even if it's true, who the hell cares? It doesn't affect on quality in any way, Coco is still boring generic garbage.
>Stay at home and eat what you want, drink and pause what you want
>Pay to be surrounded by people of colour hootering and hollering
Not a tough choice
>Spic born in USA
>Mexican
The guy can't even talk Spanish properly, like I said, Book of Life, mixed Spaniard and Mexican culture together, and doesn't even look Mexican at all. Coco basically is a good researched and depiction of Mexican culture.
Its a shame that Mexican culture is so boring and tacky.
>people of colour
Oh sorry, we don't have niggers here
Well they both still flopped so what does that tell you
>389M against 200M is good
No, it's not. That's gross. Divide it in half to get the net, especially seeing as most of its money has come from abroad. It hasn't quite broken even yet. Also Jesus how did this film cost $200 million+marketing to produce?
>Also Jesus how did this film cost $200 million+marketing to produce?
Wikipedia claims 175-200M but if they have to estimate like that I’m always going to go with the higher end
There is a difference what you think Mexican culture is, and what it really is. The problem is all """"""Mexicans-Americans"""""", thi nk they know their culture, when obviously they don't, and to be make things worse,, they usually end up mixing stuff with other latino countries, because "FUCK THIS EVERYTHING BELOW AMERICA MUST BE MEXICO!!!!!"
I still find hilarious that Americans celebrate 5 de Mayo, when no ones celebrate that shit in Mexico.
It’s like how Americans believe all of Ireland shuts down to eat corned beef and cabbage on st patricks day
It's like american blacks think that they are descendants of royalty and all of africa is one giant country full of blacks.
>Mexican-Americans
>Irish-Americans
>African-Americans
So what if the problem is America?
Where do you think KANGZ originated from kek? I wonder if somebody like Charlize Theron blows their minds
That’s precisely what we’re saying
I think the more salient point is that Egypt is in North Africa, while the virtually all American bound slaves were from West or Central Africa. The ancestors of African Americans were never part of Egyptian culture and aren't even close from a genetic perspective. It'd be like an anglo-saxon claiming that 'they're a viking jarl innit' because their skin color is similar and the UK is technically part of Europe (and even then, the vikings did settle in Saxony and Britain, so they could be 1/64th nordman peasant or something)
As a Mexican, I feel like I'm the target audience for these movies, but neither of them seem to interest me. I've never seen Coco, but every family member I've talked to about Book of Life really loves it.
I thought Book of Life was a solid movie. The only things I really liked about the movie was how the characters looked like wooden figures and the music. The Apology Song, No Matter Where you Are, and I Love You Too Much are great songs and the cover were good too.
Yeah the kings thing is bullshit. Truth is most black Americans have absolutely no idea what their ethnic background is so they feel no shame in going with what sounds good
t. Mixed race
Most people and culture usually fetishize their past and or perceived collective past of their mother culture. For Europeans be it a great fondness for their past empires or going even further a great deal of jerking off for Roman empire and ancient Greece which in turn is a cornerstone for pan-european identity. American blacks, though very critical of white "imperialism" still somehow perceive that only an imperial past and culture is actually worth anything. Having very little knowledge on the mater and knowing the general rule that "blacks come from africa" they deduce that anything and everything in africa is in turn black. They go as far to claim that Egypt, Carthage and even the Moors were black, unsurprisingly they know close to nothing about actual black empires in the sub-sahara.
Now obviously knowing that stronger tribes enslaved them and sold them off to whitey isn't some sort of a glamorous past that you can take much pride in, hence going after Egypt makes much more sense as it is one of the greatest ancient entities.
In turn blacks are dumb and want to be as cool as the whitey they hate.
