Niles has a lovable, pompous, yet oblivious attitude that has I have never seen replicated so well (actually, at all) in any other TV series.
Frasier is too down-to-earth; his commitment to sophistication is clearly superficial (or, at the very least, pales in comparison to that of Niles).
