everytime i saw the opening I though it was going to be a cartoon
young me was always disappointed
because back then anime was still considered exotic and interesting in america
I wondered too. I had the hope there would be a special episode completely drawn in typical anime artstyle. boy was I let down.
It was supposed to be something edgy that the boys would like. Like most other stuff in the intro (wrestling, monster movies, etc.) I thought it was a neat touch.
>that basketball episode where malcolm starts coughing up blood due to stress
Does that actually happen?
I always assumed it was the brothers constantly switching between channels, fighting over who gets to use the tv
So you could make a thread about it 17 years later.
because dewey was hiding his power level
what anime?
Boku no pico
Shingeky No Gaijin

my aztec academy
Nazca
corey in the house
inuyasha

Two clips from Nazca are used in the opening titles of the American sitcom Malcolm in the Middle.[1]

Its a stomach ulcer they even explain it in the episode i believe stress related.
If you like old anime with a plot that's hard to follow and doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. It is quite stylish.
Was that also a game on the PS2?
boxtrolls: gaiden no hiroshima wa kino desu

Anime was huge in the US in the late 90s/early 00s

Comfy obversation there user. It’s bizarre that kids no longer have to fight over the remote because they all have their own screens and devices
Nice
Because in the first few drafts of the show the writers planned for Malcolm to be a huge anime fan as part of his whole nerd schtick. This was later scrapped from his character as it was felt to be too strange for much of the audience to understand as a legitimate interest.
Neat
