Boomerang's Streaming Service Is Out

and it's fucking broken

Are the videos cropped to fit the widescreen 16:9 resolution, or are they in 4:3?

don't know because it doesn't fucking work. signed up for a year and on my phone it tells me to subscribe again despite it showing i am subscribed and on pc i just get a blue screen. it's horrific.

>paying for a full year as soon as the service starts
>not a month from now after the majority of the bugs (pun not intended) are worked out
You strike me as the kind of person who buys a game console on launch day.

you get a one month free trial and it doesn't charge you until after. i've cancelled it now of course. no money was spent on this shit

Anyone know if the Looney Tunes shorts are uncut or not?

>still no Duck Dodgers season 3
FUCKING DROPPED

>English Bunnicula episodes finally packed together in one place
>The platform is full of bugs and glitches
Why not have an open beta test so this shit is set to a minimum on launch day? Is Turner and his/their affiliates incompetent?

It's advertised as family friendly, so I doubt it. You'll have to purchase the old VHS tape collection(s) if you want to see the controversial shorts. Or search for them online, I'm positive someone archived all of them. They're not the best quality but it's better than nothing.

So specifically what shows are available through it?

Videos are their original aspect ratio. Some newer CN stuff like Gym Partner and Juniper Lee have been resourced in HD, it's pretty nice when it works. What's a notable Looney Tunes I can check for cuts?

Is this not the list?
boomerang.com/shows

yeah that's it. pretty weak lineup as of now

Reminder that the Wacky Races reboot is exclusive to this in the US, so if you're in the US and can't use this service you'll have to wait for people in other countries to upload the TV airings.

You can spoof the content ID in the URL to look at titles of things that aren't live yet. Here's what I can see so far:

04: Aloha! Scooby-Doo
05: Big Top Scooby (Movie)
06: Chill Out, Scooby-Doo (Movie)
07: Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School (Movie)
12: Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster (Movie)
15: Scooby-Doo Camp Scare (Movie)
17: Scooby-Doo in Where's My Mummy? (Movie)
18: Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo? (Movie)
19: Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantasaur (Movie)
20: Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire (Movie)
21: Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy! (Movie)
23: Baby Looney Tunes
35: Looney Tunes Theatrical Shorts
42: Flintstones Kids
45: A Pup Named Scooby-Doo
46: Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale (Movie)
47: Tom & Jerry: Back to Oz (Movie)
49: Tom & Jerry: Robin Hood and his Merry Mouse (Movie)
52: Tom & Jerry: The Fast and the Furry (Movie)
53: Tom & Jerry: Wizard of Oz (Movie)

68: The Flintstones
72: Foghorn Leghorn (Playlist)
79: Teen Titans (!!)
80: Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo
81: The Jetsons
82: Dorothy

Anything higher gives a straight error. Found pic related, only other one I can see is The Flintstones. Guessing those two will go live first.

Oh shit, it's real.

>That one dumbass user in another thread who kept insisting this was going to have every Looney Tunes short on it

>Baby Looney Tunes
>A Pup named Scooby Doo

nigga you just got yourself a customer

>Camp Lazlo

Nevermind.

>English Bunnicula Season 1

FUCK

you could just ignore camp lazlo tho

Where's my Wally Gator, bitches?

Sorry you can't just ignore it retard

user is probably a responsible mother that'll let her children watch it.

Hi Minafag

>No Duck Dodgers
BRING BACK QUEEN TYR DAMMIT

>What's a notable Looney Tunes I can check for cuts?
I'm looking through the lists of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck shorts they have available and none of them immediately seem like they would be prone to heavy censorship. It looks like mostly shorts from the late 40s and 50s.

I'm seeing some Daffy shorts that aren't available on dvd so that's nice.

Working just fine here m8

>Not already having seen that episode
I'm talking the ones that we previously were only able to watch in Spanish

>It's almost entirely Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry
FOR FUCK'S SAKE CN

What's one of them?

Family Portrait and Uninvited are two I can think of off the top of my head

If anyone here has an account, can you check and see if Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry are in SD or HD?

well I mean its not like there's much other Hanna-Barbera-branded movies.

you get much more variety in the shows

>What's a notable Looney Tunes I can check for cuts?
Does it have any of the Censored Eleven at all?

HD. but i mean, mostly everything is in HD actually. only a couple of shows are in SD i believe. but don't quote me on that, the service is broken for me so i can't see shit yet. the thumbnails look like most are new clean masters and i'm going off the promos

>I'm seeing some Daffy shorts that aren't available on dvd
Which are those?

We don't need HB movies, if they're going to include movie why not their WB stock like Cat's Don't Dance or Iron Giant?

HD

I'm about to go through all the shorts they have and take note of the ones that aren't on dvd or blu-ray.

If every Tom & Jerry is in HD, then that means they're using the masters from the cancelled blu-ray releases. It would be worth ripping them somehow.

I mean all the movies on there are TV/Direct-to-VHS/Direct-to-DVD stuff, not theatrical things. Stuff like Iron Giant and Cats Dont Dance belong on Netflix more than Boomerang.

Speaking of which, Iron Giant is on Netflix right now.

>I'm about to go through all the shorts they have and take note of the ones that aren't on dvd or blu-ray.
Based.

Anyone tried ripping anything yet?

T&J is definitely HD sourced, at least on everything I've checked so far

I was speaking generally, if you ask me there shouldn't even be movies. There are literally dozens upon dozens of HB and older CN shows they should put on there before they put yet another Scooby Doo movie

>the cancelled blu-ray releases
I'm still fucking mad.

No, doesn't look like there's any Merrie Melodies that aren't centered around any of the main characters actually.

>>Stuff like Iron Giant and Cats Dont Dance belong on Netflix
>>Cats Dont Dance
>tfw reminded the sequel is NEVER going to be produced
Daily reminder that if you didn't watch the movie a MINIMUM of two times when it was released in theaters you're the problem.

All This and Rabbit Stew is a Bugs short.

Not there :\

one day......one day

keep in mind while some shorts and episodes of shows are missing, Boomerang's website says they're gonna add new stuff every week. so yeah.

As far as I know, most of them are edited.

Just went through the Bugs shorts. Here's what I got.

There's a thousand shorts just from the original theatrical run. The Golden Collection and Platinum Collection sets merely scratch the surface.

Unfortunately, I'm incapable of ripping anything and all I've got right now is a piece of shit laptop so even if I learned, I wouldn't have the best setup for it. I'm doing the list as a reference for anyone who can.

Does this mean that the regular channel is going to get some love again?

You're the true MVP. Have a wonderful day/night.

>The Golden Collection and Platinum Collection sets merely scratch the surface
According to Wikipedia
>From the beginning to the present day, 1,039 shorts have been created.
also according to Wikipedia 561 shorts have been released across the Golden, Platinum, Super Stars, Essentials and Mouse Chronicles. Plus on top of that there are the shorts that've been released individually on other movie. So all in all a bit over half have had dvd/blu-ray home releases.

Holy shit

there's also shorts remastered that were released exclusively on DVD in foreign countries like Japan

Oh shit I didn't know about that. Don't suppose you happen to have a list of those shorts?

i don't unfortunately, i heard it from toonzone
it was mostly sylvester and tweety shorts. the DVDs themselves are pretty rare from what i hear

Foghorn Leghorn

Banty Raids - not on blu-ray
Crowing Pains - not on blu-ray
The Dixie Fryer - not on dvd or blu-ray

I'm only taking US dvds and blu-rays into account by the way.

>tfw buy complete Golden Collection
>tfw find out the region 2 release of volume 4 didn't include 7 shorts
Fuck that made me made when I found out. Apparently it's for stupid as fuck reasons as well like showing the confederate flag. How the fuck is showing the confederate flag IN THE UK a bad enough thing to get a short cut?

>not downloading a torrent of all Looney Tunes shorts
lmao

Pepe Le Pew

Only seven Pepe shorts are on there. All of them are on dvd but Dog Pounded is the only one that's on blu-ray.

But I did that as well senpai. I just also like having the physical media and the better quality of the un-touched episodes on dvd and blu-ray.

>not downloading untouched DVD rips off rutracker
baka
can't fix the physical problem though

>Porky Pig
>Still no Notes to You
Not fair.

There is a torrent out there that collects every short including the ones not on dvd but the quality on the non-dvd rips isn't the greatest. Which is why it would be awesome if the ones from this streaming service would be ripped.

Yeah it's on myspleen which is where I grabbed it from.

If anything, this just sounds like even more of a reason to ignore it.

Now that all these cartoons are going to be streamed, why bother with the regular channel?

>shorts are remastered
>warner bros still won't release it on blu ray
why

Apparently the Platinum Collections didn't make much money. Don't see why they can't release them using the Warner Archive though.

>I was speaking generally, if you ask me there shouldn't even be movies. There are literally dozens upon dozens of HB and older CN shows they should put on there before they put yet another Scooby Doo movie
my guess is the Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry stuff are things they already had ready for uploading, same with most everything else they've got lined up for the moment, probably takes time to get things properly ready

I love how 90% of the cartoons Warner Archive released are crappy Hanna Barbera shows nobody gives a shit about. There is no way those are getting better sales than Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry and the other MGM cartoons. Way to drop the ball.

Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry don't sell anymore though. They're both outdated and forgotten.

Can someone treat me like a retard and show me what non-HD looks like?

Not trying to argue, these looks fantastic, just curious and what they usually look like

To be fair to the WA they have released a bunch of DC animated series on blu-ray. They also just did Static Shock and Zeta Project too bad those are just burnt dvd-r's I've got no idea why they still use dvd-r for their dvd releases but proper pressed bd's for blu-ray ones. You'd think pressing blu-rays would be more expensive than dvds.

That doesn't really matter with the WA though. The whole point of their existence is that all their stuff is MOD. They can't really lose money since they only make what they can sell and then only make more when that batch sells out.

It'd be perfect to release the already re-mastered shorts on blu-ray.

here's how the DVD version of that tom and jerry short looks like, not the same user

More so than this shit? (Barring Jetsons)

Most of their animation lineup is obscure Hanna Barbera.

>hating gay purree
nigga

Sounds like it'll be worth it when if the bugs get sorted out

could be some rights issues involved preventing them from doing it through the WA

Thanks man. Looks nice non-HD, but definitely looks much better in HD.

thanks for making the lists user.
>45 not on dvd or blu-ray shorts so far
Basically already another full Golden/Platinum Collection volumes worth of shorts.

Now we just need someone to rip them.

They do have Bugs Bunny Superstar but that was already on one of the Golden Collections so not many people had a reason to buy it.

is this all the looney tunes shorts available?

There's still Tweety and Yosemite Sam. They have a lot of Tweety shorts so it's taking me a while to get through them but I'm still on it.
