>Dead Luke, Han, Phasma and Snoke
>Leia is a force using superhuman now
>Rey has no notable lineage, she just has the force and is great with it just cuz
>Rey doesn't need Luke's training and will be the best jedi ever by reading books
>Yoda even endorses this
>Luke is bad now because he nearly killed his nephew based on a bad vibe
>Finn's storyline results in nothing

At this point I'm convinced that people who say they liked it are shitposting. I didn't care for TFA but understand why people like it, TLJ is just unfathomable.

I don't get it
how did you see it if it comes out tomorrow

I came out feeling mixed and after a few hours of mulling it over I pretty much dislike the movie
I never thought I could say that about a Star Wars movie, maybe normies will like it but it feels like a massive Fuck You to anybody who liked the OT and PT

Eurofaggots get it first

suck it Amerimutt

ooooo

>its only out in Australia right now
>all of Sup Forums pretends they've seen it

It was a grat flick! I had good time watching it very much. Perhaps needs more lightedsabering but other than that it is great movie for family to see!

Europe has it too retard

Great movie like episode V. I'm from Russia btw. Bye.

i thought it was great and seen others here who did too
there were some very questionabe scenes like superleia but other than that it was lot better than TFA

Most people seem to hate it on imdb. I wonder how it got all these positive reviews from the maintream media.
imdb.com/title/tt2527336/reviews

Based on what I've seen from the leaks it's worse than ROTS
Maybe I'll go watch it mid janurary when it's cheap (Or just wait for the rip, I'm in no rush to see it), there's no way I'm paying full price to see this
It's strange because TFA was at least decent, it didn't do much good but it sure as hell wasn't as offensively bad as TLJ seems to be

It took real risks with the franchise and it's admirable.
I didn't loved it but I really liked it.
Kylo vs. Bigger Luke and Kylo/Rey vs Snoke was kino. Same goes for cruiser ramming Snoke's flagship.

I even enjoyed TFA, but this is just trash. Not interested in IX at all now. It will just be generic good guy with no personality vs a now complete bad guy. All the characters that I cared about are dead or ruined, all the OT characters were butchered. The movie hinted for a long time that it will go in a new direction and in the end were are back to the same old shit.

Basically because of the feminist and general SJW pandering

And that's from a guy who genuinely enjoyed TFA and doesn't think it had too much SJW shit in it

There's even a purple haired women FFS...

those cockpit shots when everyone is of a different minority were so shameless they made me crack up a little. Were there even any white male extras in this?

>first screenings in europe are already finished since 18 hours

It came out in most of Europe today faggot
I watched it in the UK this morning with all the spaks and OAPs

Movie is legit disappointing, best praise I can give is that its not terrible

This. Poland here.
It's the best of the recent 3 and if you disagree you're a manchild blinded by nostalgia .
It's not great by any means, it's just good.

you are a turbo pleb, its the worst star wars movie of all 9

Just saw it a few hours ago. My main gripe is how Resistance has been fighting with The Imperials for so long it's getting pretty jaded. Do their fights have meaning anymore? So many people have died and it's just a never ending "x vs y" because if someone in leadership dies there's always someone to replace him. Just tired of this for the past 8 movies

At the Q&A cast session yesterday in London, someone asked about the diversity and someone else asked about having a female director for a SW film. Rian Johnson was visibly embarrassed and didn't know what to say because this is has gone completely out of hand. Lucasfilm has fallen into the hand of greedy hacks who have no idea how to make movies, they're relying entirely on hype and social engineering because ta the end of the day we know they don't give jackshit about diversity. We know all the women in the business had to have sex with producers to get there, then the same women pontificate us all day about stronk womyn and shit.

>91539138

It's mediocre at best. Go piss away whatever's left of your Zolty's on cheap booze, you Eastern European cuck

I just noticed now that you mentioned it

Honestly, I really don't mind Finn, Rey, and so on. But making all white male characters flawed and everyone else moraly perfect, not to mention rey and leia being superheroes now, shit that killed it for me...

When i was a kid I wondered if I'd live to see sequels from the OT, now I kinda regret I did...

>worse than prequel trilogy
I may be a pleb but you're underage. Go suck George's dick.

autism

It's good but there are several really good set pieces that could have bumped it up by several points if some incredibly silly decisions hadn't been made somewhere along the line

6/10, could have easily been an 8. Leraves a bitter taste because of what could have been

All the white males played evil empire guys or guards for the evil white male upperclass casino

>liking the prequels
Fag
Nothing after Empire is great
Only Jedi was good
The rest is garbage

French here, just watched a review from well-known youtube podcasters here, very influential know as "Joueur du grenier". Both of the guys didn't like it, and yes, Leia flying in space really fucking confirmed.

So even normie shits didn't like in fact. Disney fucked up bad.

I don't get it. I mean sure it looked kida silly but she is a force user, why wouldn't she fly through space a little?

It shits all over original trilogy just as much as the prequels, so that alone makes it worse than TFA. Purely as a movie it's an overbloated mess of pointless subplots, tonally inconsistent and unfocused.

Seriously what characters do we still have left that hasn't been ruined by Lucas or Disney? Han (until the next year when his spin off comes out)? Lando? At least they probably won't touch Sheev.

>she is a force user
Since when?
>muh it has been stabilished in the Disney EU
Moviegoers don't give a fuck to that and that's bad storytelling

It's a good film but it falls apart under any kind of scrutiny.

The same major plot problem that TFA had, this film just continues without explanation - why is it still Empire vs Rebels when the Rebels won? Why does the First Order copy directly everything that the Empire did, right down to the design of the uniforms and ships? How do they afford all this lavish tech?

Oh yeah, because what this film DOES introduce into the Star Wars saga is that all the kit both sides use is actually sold to them, not developed in house. This is maybe the stupidest thing in the film but is probably going to be the least discussed.

The film very almost takes Star Wars in an interesting new direction - the theme is established early on about "letting old things die". Luke wants to end the Jedi and has extremely harsh words about the Council and their activities in the prequels, Kylo smashes up his intimidation helmet and then later is willing to let his mother die by cannon fire when he wasn't willing earlier in order to join with Rey and run things a new way, without two sides against each other.

... and then they instantly drop this notion and it just carries on as before.

Was I meant to think what Kylo was saying was inherently bad? He did say rule TOGETHER, not that he would now take Snoke's place and he had no further need for Rey. Rey was the one that tried to kill him.

Yoda looked fucking shit too, and what's he even doing there when Luke was already saying how their hubris was responsible for the rise of Darth Sidious?

As something that washes over you though, it was fun and well made, maybe I'll even go back and see it again in 3D. The lightspeed jump through the Star Destroyer was fucking awesome.

Oh, and what was even the point of Phasma coming back?

They're really fucked now with Leia being the only surviving original cast member but the only one that's actually dead.

His shock was so palpable, "What? this isn't what you wanted?"

Of course not you dumb costal cuckboy!

Since RotJ retard.

I liked it. Only thing that annoyed me was Finn and Luke quipping too much.

>hating on based leia
kys

You're alright people

The only thing that I didn't like was the power of Leia and all the scenes of Finn but other than that, I enjoyed it

Kylo did literally nothing wrong, and it pissed me off that everyone refers to him as this ultimate irredeemable bad guy. Too bad the next movie would probably be just a lot of Kylo sperging out and screaming and die at the end. What a waste of a character. At least maybe Rey still cares about him a little bit, but she is mostly over it now (indicated by the door closing hurr durr visual imagery).

>It's a good film but it falls apart under any kind of scrutiny.

Wouldn't that make it bad? I get that you got a kick out of the action sequences but it didnt do much for me.

no i hated it

im not usually one of these people on here who hate on movies cause they're popular, but i hated this movie. it retroactively ruins the originals for me, i was hoping luke would be a complete bad ass and do something but no.

The whole point of the movie was to explain that the force isn’t exclusive to the jedi u absolute faggets

>Was I meant to think what Kylo was saying was inherently bad?
Honestly if Kylo had just stopped shooting down the fleeing rebels and asked her to rule together after that then he would immediately have been seen as the good guy. I agree with the whole attitude the movie had of throwing out the old, but then when Kylo actually tries to do exactly that, suddenly everyone says it's wrong.

it was really confusing to me from the first minute when the opening crawl says "the republic has been destroyed" fucking what? when?

Mexico reporting in, i would not watch it anyway

You're wrong. Rey is literally going to sacrifice herself.

Man, I can't get over how retarded that sword stance is. one little touch and off with the arm.

Most films fall apart under basic scrutiny, particularly sci-fi. I haven't watched the original Star Wars films for well over a decade but if I did I'm sure I could find a dozen moments where I could say "why don't they just" or "why isn't this" etc.

That would be great but when the scene came up I knew they wouldn't do it because there still needs to be a plot for Episode IX. That also means we won't get an ending like that for the whole trilogy. They wasted a great scene.

There are in-universe rules though that you don't really question, then these films just break that.

No, they fucking ruined Luke's legacy. Added unneeded jokes that ruined tension; unnecessary character for no reason (Rose), wasted Finn in a subplot that lead nowhere and actually sabotaged the rebel side; Rey confirmed as Mary Sue, which is funny because if she was a force child it actually would make her less of one IMO because it'd at least explain why she can master the force so quickly.
I could go on and on, but I'm tired.

Fuck Disney.

In the last film when they destroyed those 5 planets that Leia wasn't on, which somehow ends a galactic republic forever.

Did the First Order buy the Starkiller Base from those gambling guys too? Fucking retarded.

Definitely better then TFA.

It was legit terrible and probably the most disappointing movie I have watched this decade
This is coming from somebody who pretty much loved TFA too

I lied, I want to say one more thing.

This fucking movie trying to fool those that don't pay attention and undone what was declared in the previous one.

Luke didn't just sense a potential darkness in Kylo, he was in cahoots with Snoke by then. Kylo didn't just defend his poor life from his uncle, he was planning a coop with the Knights of Ren that then proceed to murder EVERYONE in the school.

Nice, 'b-but muh uncle, Rey' fucking faggot of a writer.

I suppose you could argue that the fact that he was still willing to kill all of those people when all they were doing was fighting Snoke and the First Order was still pretty dark side, but by that point they'd already made Luke so neutral to either viewpoint that I was willing to go along with the "grey side" aspect. His logic was right.

Ameribugs will praise it then slowly start to hate it just like TfA

The galaxy is absolutely tiny in the new trilogy

I did
It's some weird shit but I liked it

2.5 hour movie and the only "worldbuilding" we get is in the opening crawl.

It was mindbogglingly insulting with it's pasting. The asspulls were so rampant I actually wanted to leave before the 1 hour mark.
Can anything happen that is like apparent at least 2 seconds before it happens. Twists are fun now and then but if your entire movie is a retarded long cycle of twists and ''Ooh it's not what it seems like guys really'' tier shit, you're gonna make a shit movie that feels insulting to watch.
Finn and light speed ramming almost saved the movie tho

its like if washington dc got nuked by north korea and the us and the rest of the world did nothing

Pretty much this.

I did

There are plenty of retards who liked it user. Then there are the mouse shills.

wait is it still not out in America?

tomrorrw

Well that has been a thing since Return of the Jedi. There's a black guy, an asian guy, and a woman that was dubbed over by a man.

Perkele!

I would love to tell you, but that's a story for another time

IMPORTANT SPOILER.

She should have said yes to Kylo.

kek, this explains the hate. TFA was mostly liked by Americans. I think the feedback will be much better after it's released in the US.

Sure, if you likec epic jedi dual wielding battles.

It's literally Soy Wars.
Every masculine thematic is LOST.
This is literally made for manchildren who need their next dopamine fix.

when it gets released in the USA
a shit ton of people are going to see it. That means a lot of haters too

Yeah, but she had motivations for any decision there tbf.
I'd much rather have her join Kylo and Luke doing his badass illusion without becoming one with the force and joining the Resistance in the IX.
Luke as a character and Mark Hamill's acting was my favorite part of the movie.

Disney made a movie so bad that even people who didn't care anymore are upset.

it's literally the worst Star Wars movie ever made. If you're even a casual fan who perhaps liked TFA your going to start to wonder if maybe this isn't real and your simply having a bad dream and will wake up and go see the real The Last Jedi, but when it ends you realize the true nightmare is that it is real, all of it.

Go to Reddit, friendo. The apologists and mental gymnastics are running at 100% capacity already. It's as hilarious as it is deeply sad and disturbing.

It's a fact though. This is also why most of the reviews aggregated on RT or metactitic are positive: they're from American reviewers. Neither site aggregates French reviews for example.

The former will still like it, and be more vocal about it (and other things the movie has other than quality).

Since Empire you normie faggot, she contacts luke at the end from the falcon.
You disgust me

The vast majority of murricans will like it. It's taylor made for American "liberals".

I enjoyed TFA and R1 but hated this one it was really bad

especially I hated how they ruined Luke and his death scene was retarded. Why couldnt he just die in the duel instead of some stupid projection?

I checked out of curiosity, /r/movies seems to hate it. I don't know what are you talking about. Also
>Even reddit hates it
Give it a week and we will have a plague of contrarians.

>>Finn's storyline results in nothing
I find hilarious the attitude of the diversity crowd.
The black guy and the asian girl were literally put in a containment plot.

I actually liked it
>story is one big chase scene, keeps the tension going throughout
>had balls to kill off another beloved character after giving him memorable send off
>very interesting and unique story device of the hero and villain being able to commune and talk about where they're at
>actual proper spiritual themes about determinism v free will and the results of viewing the world with human concepts like good v bad rather than just paying lip service to spirituality like all the other movies
>actually has themes about the nature of war and it's effects on people, rarely addressed for a series with war in the title and what rouge one failed at terrible (inb4 contrarians say rouge one was good, sorry bitch but I am now at the top of the contrarian food chain with this post)

how much of those will end up on Sup Forums though? maybe like 1 normie who goes on Sup Forums by accident

It was alright
the film makes Luke look like a total failure
People thought George Lucas ruined their childhood, how wrong were they

Hey OP, I really enjoyed it.

This is something we see in Rogue One too.
But the guy was still trained. This is an ass-pull

>haha I'm a hologram
>now I'm going to die, because disney will be fucked if I die IRL
>memorable send off

Im not even meming its worse than AotC

The movie was a mess in every way possible, action scenes were far below standard, CG was pretty bad in places and the most memorable scene was dead Carrie Fisher flying through the vaccum of space like superman which she recovered from in about 1 hour

Im almost certain this has gone through some major rewrites and reshoots because it reminded me of Justice League
What a shitshow

>he doesn't know
Sup Forums is full of normalfags dude.

> If we outrun the Star destroyers the fighters will pull back
What did they mean by this?
Are Tie bombers not a thing? They have no other option but to chase them for days or even weeks as Captain Filler Finn goes on a date to a space 1920's casino with some jap nobody cares about?

>They're really fucked now with Leia being the only surviving original cast member but the only one that's actually dead.

Their own fault. They wanted to get rid of Luke because he's a huge shadow in the new trilogy.

He's only a shadow because they made him one. They've only got one film left, what difference would it have made if he'd stuck around and been in that one too? Rey and Finn are never going to be Luke and Leia, so just utilise what you've got and be glad for it.
