Just so everyone knows the so called superman Leia scene does not exist, it's just a shitty meme go see the film for yourself before making a judgment on it. I give it an 8.5/10 it's on par with A New Hope maybe Empire

But it does exist. It's been posted.

7/10

t. mousepajeet

>pushing this narrative when the movie is already leaked and their are webm's.

Still getting paid until sunday eh?

8/10

Did she die, too?

...

10/10 was great

Name one outstanding artwork in Empire Strikes Back

>superman Leia scene does not exis

Kys, shill. We already saw it.

Personally I was ecstatic and elated

6/10. There were parts I loved and parts I hated. Overall, it’s eh. I’m most upset about it’s refusal to turn Rey and redeem Kylo when there was a perfect opportunity to do so. Even fucking little girls don’t care about Rey, might as well make her the first female villain of the franchise.

ITT: we pretend like its 72 hours ago

I cannot wait to see Yoda again

finally Luke will battle a Sith Lord

Nah. It exists. Fuckin loser

No way

Nice fan film footage, faggot

1/1
Because numerical ratings are stupid. Yay or nay is the way.

It's fucking real. Holy shit that looks atrocious

Super Leia is real
Luke Milkies are real
The movie is shit

>not american
>the scene where luke goes to "get that dirt off his shoulder"
>audience claps
I am so ashamed of my country

>Blatant lie
>Uses pornstar image
>Claims Nu Wars is anything other than an utter pile of shit

what a sage worthy thread

Dear god...

wheres the movie leaked?

Someone Periscoped it, shit quality but it confirmed the memes

wjeres the recording

...

5/10 and that's being generous...Fuck Disney!

what the FUCK OP??

superman leia is in the first 20 minutes

it is a key point of the majority of the film

as is hologram luke at the end

I liked this scene because she finally got to show her powers but the movie was shit. seriously, having a "yo momma!" joke in the first scene? shitting on all characters that were hyped up?

>rose and finn's plan going literally fucking nowhere
>snoke killed off quickly, character not explored at all
>"rey, your parents were nothing"
>luke a bitter old man who thought about killing younglings/padawans
>luke doing fucking astral projection
>dying off on a CGI set

fuck that shit

It looks a lot better in HD on the big screen

probably a 6/10.

bad:
>Finn and Rose's pointless mission
>Snoke was wasted, literally
>quips
>minor details like super Leia and overpowered Rey

good:
>Luke fucking Skywalker
>Kylo Ren

Lol... They had a good chance to but apparently the want her to live another day

>yes... yes... buy tickets... see it on the big screen... it won't look as stupid in HD... buy those tickets now...

8. 5 for me too user. on par with 6 for me since I give Last Hope a 9.

TLJ is bogged down by useless filler, but its high points (kylo/rey relationship and its culmination, Luke/kyle backstory explanation) are actually pretty interesting to see

It's a solid 4/10. Same as TFA. Everyone I went to see this movie with thought it was okay.

>6/10

yeah, I'd say so. objectively, it's somewhere around 5-6 as a movie in general. as a star wars movie, I'd consider it as the worst of all the movies. it managed to fuck up literally everything in terms of characterisations and world building. also, toward the end of the movie I noticed the soundtrack not being interesting at all. why have the newer OSTs been so shit?

>people saying this shit is anything above 5/10
lmaoing@ (you) shills

Really the quips argument? Go watch a documentary you humorless twat. Go watch a marvel movie then you can have a legit complaint.

I logged into imdb for the first time in years to give it a 4 and I'm wondering if that was still too generous. 3 is probably about right.

Not that guy but there's nothing inherently wrong with quips however in Last Jedi not only are they not funny there's a constant barrage of them and often in the most inappropriate times breaking up any dramatic tension. There's a fucking time and place for comic relief.

Never good at rating things numerically, but I give it a "good and bad, overall enjoyed it". I'd been told to expect disappointment, and had my annoyances with it, but was pleasantly surprised. For me, some of the humour was just bad, some did make me chuckle a little. Visually, it was pretty solid, I think. Some of the ship designs and space fight scenes looked very cool, obviously highly unrealistic but that's just Star Wars since the very beginning. Some lovely scenery, Luke's island and the planet staging the final battle, especially the big crystal cave the Falcon flies into at one point, come to mind. While I get that the Force is mysterious and cannot be fully understood, Superman Leia and a continuation of "Why is Rey so fucking strong?" annoyed me. It feels like Kylo should be far stronger than he is given his lineage AND training if Leia and Rey can pull off the shit they do. Some other cool instances of Force usage, though - a force ghost; (sadly only a glimmer of) force lightning; some telepathic communication between Kylo and Rey which I thought was actually really good at developing their relationship, explaining Kylo's relationship with Luke, and setting up a later meeting between the two; some cool use of a sort of astral projection; Snoke being effortlessly powerful as fuck (though sadly featuring in a somewhat anticlimactic fight, or more accurately lack thereof, where I wanted to see more of a showdown with him). For me the biggest frustration was that what is effectively a prolonged space battle - a "space siege", if anything - formed the backdrop for the events of the majority of the film, and it just felt like a somewhat absurd situation. As I said, I don't expect Star Wars to deliver solid hard sci-fi space battle scenes, but seeing ship-to-ship bombardment featuring plasma which follows a parabolic trajectory to its target along some imaginary up and down did rustle me, I confess.

idk man, I think they did Luke all right. but the music was forgettable. even the prequels had Duel of the Fates.

>Go watch a marvel movie then you can have a legit complaint.
you know, I felt like I did somewhat. I watched Thor 3 last month, and the quality of the jokes were quite similar.

4-5 is pretty much the right score. if you rated it by SW standards, it would probably be more of a 1-2. can't believe actual "Star Wars fans" like this shit. the friend I was with in the theater said TFA and Rogue One (I hated both) and even he said that the movie sucked ass

Luke dies and the new characters are gay. I wasted time and money. 2/10

>>rose and finn's plan going literally fucking nowhere
B-but muh kids! Muh new Rebellion!
Not sure how to feel about Rey's parents. Luke going "Rey, I am your father" (or Kylo telling her that Luke is her father) or some shit would have been infinitely worse. But her being a nobody who is such a prodigous force user is not exactly great, either.

11/10
It was the best Star Wars movie ever made

>Go watch a marvel movie then you can have a legit complaint.
>out of place, unfunny quips
>plot goes nowhere
>retarded villains
>inconsistent superpowers
That's exactly what TLJ is

8,5/10

>B-but muh kids! Muh new Rebellion!

that felt way too forced. wasn't even interesting enough to actually justify keeping it in the movie. they probably only did it in order to do that shitty scene at the end where they copied luke looking into the sky in a new hope

>Not sure how to feel about Rey's parents

I feel like they did it on purpose just to do that "lol, there is no huge twist like in empire!" thing but I would have even accepted the Luke thing because Disney hyped up Rey's heritage for no reason. maybe they will pull a twist in the third movie with Luke and Snoke as force ghosts and Rey's parents being revealed but as of yet, I'm disappointed as fuck. This new trilogy is literally of no worth to the whole franchise

I'm not sure how many of the people that like it are actual Star Wars fans.

>Disney hyped up Rey's heritage for no reason.
That is right, and didn't Luke's/Anakin's lightsaber react specifically to her?
The whole casino scene took too long for my taste, I am sure they could have shoehorned inthe kids in a different way if they really wanted to. Anyway, timeskip for IX incoming.

a friend of mine who is a huge SW OT fan is not even going to the theater to see it because he hated the Disney takeover and TFA. he was right for not wanting to see it.

I see a lot of blind love and hate but this movie is legitimately bad and insulting to fans, especially fans of the OT. I always try to see the good in movies and even like Episode 1 and 2 for what they are but this was just too much fucking shit

Rey is either a reincarnation of Anakin or a character from Lucas' Clone Wars series: the Daughter, who is the incarnation of the light side of the Force, while Kylo is the Son and is the incarnation of the dark side.

I'm like your friend and hated Force Awakens. I still thought this would at least have a floor of half decent. Unequivocally the worst Star Wars film. At least it being this terrible has meant I can make a clean and easy break. Star Wars is no longer for me but I'll always have the OT.

like I said, the casino scene was literally useless, as was their overall plan. it literally brought nothing to the movie. I'm all for characters not succeeding in every plan but it was just fucking stupid.

>That is right, and didn't Luke's/Anakin's lightsaber react specifically to her?

yeah, that's why it was such a letdown. I still hope that Kylo saying her parents are nothing was because of Snoke's mindfuckery but who knows. I saw some fan theory that I quite enjoyed, namely the visions in TFA being flashbacks of Luke's lightsaber. even that kind of bullshit would have been better than what we got

Possible, IIRC those cartoons are meant to be semi-canon (some of the episodes are pretty good as well, I think). A consideration for Rey's parentage: Kylo was talking shit because he wanted to both instil negative emotions in Rey, in order to make her more dark side susceptible, and make the idea of becoming someone important, where she so far is a "nobody", in joining him in rulership of the FO. In fact, her parentage IS special - Kylo, whether he knew this or not, simply had vested interest in her believing otherwise. I'm not sure I believe that they'll actually go with this angle with a revelation in E9, but personally I think this would redeem that failed plot point somewhat.

Very tangential, but asking for a friend: Anyone know who the actress of the nameless, dialogueless rebel lass with the braided ginger hair is, standing to the right of Poe in the giant base when they're having their "lol let's skedaddle while Kylo gets baited and outsmarted by Luke" chat? She looked qt af.

I hated it too but didn't give up on watching the other movies. he instantly threw the entire thing out the window

I'll see the last movie but I definitely don't care about the franchise anymore except for the OT and PT. this is a cashgrab to the greatest extent

>because of Snoke's mindfuckery
Oh yeah, that would be another convenient plot development induced by Snoke, that fucking deus ex machina who disappeared as fast as he was introduced.
So which book will Disney make people who want his backstory buy?

I'm done. I don't care about anyone left. The nu characters are all boring, bland and forgettable; I'm not invested in the nu rebellion and couldn't care if they win or lose and the story is shit. Rey is just going to win one more time without any adversity and I'm not even interested how it occurs. I'm just over it. Star Wars has been destroyed and they won't get another cent from me.

I give it like a solid 7/10.

I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

I feel like it would have been a pretty fucking good 90 minute movie if they cut out all the black and yellow subplot and cut back on some of the "humor" in the first half.

>Oh yeah, that would be another convenient plot development induced by Snoke

at least it would be one that makes sense, unlike the rest of that goddamn movie. I wouldn't consider him as a deus ex machina but if he DOESN'T show up in Ep9, there's literally no reason for Disney to having used the old characters or any existing characters whatsoever for this franchise. If Snoke isn't someone from the past, why did they hype him that much and why did they hype him as a big bad to begin with if he wasn't even able to properly fight? that was the most anticlimactic death in any SW movie

>So which book will Disney make people who want his backstory buy?

during the entire movie, I had that same exact thought. same goes with TFA. we literally got nothing except for the Luke/Kylo story and even that was like half a minute of screentime. What about the Knights of Ren? (5 seconds) What about Snoke? What about Rey's parents? What about the other padawans? Nothing. I ain't paying for movie DLC, fuck that

there's nothing to invest in because you literally don't know anything and that goes for every single thing in these movies

Solid 7. 5/8, don't know how any of yiu could rate TFA or rogue one higher than this

>people giving good ratings literally say nothing about what they liked and the, the plot points and characterisations they enjoyed
>people giving good ratings don't say anything about the negative aspects of the movie

seriously, at this point I think all good reviews are not even honest. the only thing all positive reviews have in common is saying that the movie is funny, pretty much one of the main reasons why the reason was actually bad

>there's nothing to invest in because you literally don't know anything and that goes for every single thing in these movies

True. Nothing at all has been framed. 30 years or so have supposedly passed and another major power has somehow managed to rise up and fill the void left by the Empire. And we know nothing about how it came to formation. We know nothing of the rebellion. Are they new rebels despite being lead by familiar faces? How did they not form a government after winning the war? There's just nothing. It's things occurring on screen featuring characters and things from a universe we love but it feels totally disconnected and self-contained.
Goddamn, they fucked this up. Seriously, if you paid $500 to everyone on Sup Forums if they produced two Star Wars scripts 95% of them would be better than the shit they used.

Disney has probably already planned like a hundred things that will explain these movies and not a single one of these things will be in the form of a sequel but in form of cartoons, comics, and books. What's the point offering niche products to give explanations about products for the masses? it's not as if everyone will start reading comics and the books. They shat on the new trilogy bad

>Seriously, if you paid $500 to everyone on Sup Forums if they produced two Star Wars scripts 95% of them would be better than the shit they used.

this board is full of retards but I agree 100%. there's some proper fans out there who could actually pull it off a lot better. statements like "I was actually a huge fan in the past!" by some director or screenwriter is worth nothing nowadays when all actual fans are pissed. funny that even the worst parts of the old EU still manages to be better than these new movies
