The ONLY perfect castings in Sup Forums related live action adaptations are Christopher Reeve as Superman, John Luigizama as Clown, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, and Robert Down's Syndrome Jr. as Iron Man.

EVERYTHING else is hypothetically surpassable.

Patrick Stewart as Professor X

:^)

I whole heartedly agree, Gargomel was the only decent thing about those movies.

>Robert Down's Syndrome Jr. as Iron Man.
He made an entirely different character than what Iron Man was before the MCU.

Hugh Jackson's Wolverine suffers the same, they are both great versions, they themselves have created, but far from a true adaptation from source material.

eah

ta eah

both, but evans in particular

/thread.
Was so iconic they cut the character out of ASM rather than recast him

Eh I think Hugh at least would be willing to go full pre movie comic wolvie were it not for his height and the execs/writers aiming at different audiences.

They are both great, but I always thought Cap would be older. Chris does alright with what lines he's given though.

Would SM2 Doc Ock count with that?

They made him Australian after that. The actor did such a fucking good job.

He does such an amazing job. I always thought Wellsbard would never be surpassed but I was wrong. Wellsboard represents an Eobard that has grown and evolved past his prior self (thought still a selfish bastard) while Letscherbard represents Eobard at the height of his dickishness and egoism (just killed Nora Allen and strutting his stuff). It's kinda amazing. And the best part is that he can go from smug to scared in the blink of an eye and it be completely in character.

Oc was breddy good. Dunno about definitive, but still a great performance.

...

I'd say so. Alfred Molina created a nuanced character with layers of depth. Ock in 616 is a saturday morning super villain with a literal mind switch machine.
youtube.com/watch?v=q_OkginymT4
youtube.com/watch?v=9VC7WC3NNUg

I fucking loathe Zack the Hach with all I have, but Jackie Earle Haley looked perfect as Rorschach.

...

...

The one bright spot of this film.

It'd be okay with a Beast solo film, where he is working as a mutant ambassador at the whitehouse. It'd be like the West Wing, but with Mutants.

Shelly Duvall was the perfect Olive Oyl

...

Damn. Looking at these action scenes again. It's been a long time.

Spiderman 2 was fucking great.

Underrated

I feel like Beast should at least be a lot more muscular than Kelsey Grammer

I'd watch that

>always prepping for the next time the new intern is shocked at him
>always prepping for the next debate over mutants
>Xavier comes over once a month for lunch and a good talk
>never brings up human on human violence cuz he knows I'd be seen as petty
>one of his request was to have a mutant assistant
>its Jamie Madrox
>always dealing with and beating wannabe zealots in the government in conversations
>only physical action we see is him in a chair watching the fighting unfold on the news
>he's worried for his friends safety
>still takes notes when the media paints them in a bad light for saving the day
>they work in David H. Peirce
>...guess his ringtone for work
>...guess his ringtone for friends

He was so good as Kano, that Ed Boon changed the video game character to be more like him.

>John Luigizama as Clown

my nigga

I have a soft spot for that movie and can't really see anything wrong except dated CGI

john goodman is based

Why would Captain America be older?

He should have been around early to mid-20s when he went into suspended animation.

Didn't he just straight up play Shaggy in the shows/movies after a while?

Has potential, but his movie and lines suck ass
Pic related is still the best

...

John Goodman is good, man.

Really everyone in this movie, but these two especially.

yep, he's voiced shaggy in most scooby doo things for years now

Sometimes I forget how old I am.

Then someone posts something like this...and I remember.

god Karl Urban is a fucking based man
>refused to remove his mask entirely

Im looking forward to seeing him as skurge. Ive a feeling he may not have much to work with but he'll play a decent executioner nonetheless

I'd love to know how quickly he was hired after they found Jackie, he's just so fucking perfect. Surely they had him read some journal lines in a gritty voice and that was it right?

>We'll never get a Netflix series dedicated to Beast doing exactly what you described.

I like how in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake they just had JEH say a bunch of Batman/Rorscach shit

>Oh God!
>No. Just me...

The best part is when you google Jamenson his picture comes up as the top results.

This man and Private Pyle were the only things that made Daredevil S2 actually watchable.

Are there any other examples of casting so perfect that they took over in the original medium?

>Bernthal made Walking Dead watchable
>Bernthal made Daredevil S2 watchable
>Voiced Trigon recently

Is Jon Bernthal single-handedly saving comic book adaptations?

He was an actor on a Doom movie adaptation once. Check out his "Doom movie first person" scene.

Terence Stamp Zod

Before him Zod looked like Bison from Street Fighter

Ron Perlman as Hellboy.

>for work
DUHNUHNUHNUHDUHNUHNUHNUHDUHNUHNUHNUHNUHHHHHH

>for friends
DAHNAHNAHNAHNAAAAHNAHNAH...DAHNAHNAHNAHNAAAAAHNAHNAH...DAHNAHNAHNAHNAAAAHNAHNAH...NAHNAH!

>Bernthal made Walking Dead watchable
foreal tho. S2 was absolute garbage but this nigga was so based he made the slog bearable

>>...guess his ringtone for work
Well i dont know what to do with these tossed salads and scrambled eggs

they're calling again

>>...guess his ringtone for friends
Making your way in the world today...

Came to post this and his animated slade since that's still an adaption.

>tfw you will never get stepped on by her ladyfeet

Jinkies Shaggy, you do have a big cock

Wesley from Daredevil season 1. In the comics he was literally a throwaway and a nobody. But in the DD series, he was the perfect right-hand man and loyal friend.

Too bad he was an idiot with gun safety.

>M'ask you something Daredevil
>you think you can keep New York safe?
>IT'S ALREADY ASHES MAN

Read this again in his voice.

Nah, Young Justice had her voiced by Alyssa Milano.

Which is like, three or four of my fantasies rolled into one.

...

That seems more like an example of making it their own character, instead of adapting it. i.e.

That's on the writers, not the actor. RDJ is the PERFECT Iron Man in terms of both looks and performance.

that was one of the worst ever gtfo of here

Goddamn, I want to was S2 for the first time again.

>that court scene

I came here to find this, and I'm glad I did.

Only if you've never read the pre-MCU comics.

>M'ask
Shane's a big guy
Why does he wear the M'ask you something?

...

This.
It's uncanny how similar he looks to Walter Kovacs in the comics

Barring Ozymandias, the casting was pretty great in that movie.

underrated

>red/green coveralls, blue shirts
>not blue coveralls, red/green shirts
Someone was paying attention!

but thats what they look like in the cartoon sections too

holy shit i forgot about this meme

I always thought those sunglasses looked cool as fuck

Matthew Lillard was so fucking good as Shaggy, he didn't deserve to be in those shitty movies. I'm glad he's the go-to Shaggy now.

I was sincere! In the games they had red/green coveralls and blue shirts. Someone went through the trouble of finding or making red/green coveralls instead of taking the lazy route and buying denim coveralls and red/green shirts. It wasn't till Mario 64 that Nintendo made the blue coveralls canon.

I always liked the costumes they gave him, shame we'll never get Penguin in film again.

Didn't start out that way, that came with SMB2.

...

Yes, he is based in Fred Flinstone

>M'ask you something Batman
>You think you can keep Gotham safe?
>The fire is already rising man!

...

Sam Jackson's Fury might count since it went make Ultimate Fury black > redesign him to look like Jackson > Jackson is cast for movie > Marvel dreams up convoluted bullshit to introduce Fury's never before seen black son, get rid of one of his eyes, shave his head and reveal his pal Cheese is Coulson.

>Bottom left
Would you?

DeVito is a treasure.
It's a shame they never got him to play the character again.
He seems to have really liked the role too.

YJ was fucking weird with villain casting since they used the idea of bringing in known TV and film actors like the DCEU. Sometimes it was spot on. Other times it was trying a bit too hard to avoid the DCEU and cast differently.

Rob Lowe as Shazam was goddamn perfect, though.

>It wasn't till Mario 64 that Nintendo made the blue coveralls canon.

Super Mario World had them.

...

>He made an entirely different character than what Iron Man was before the MCU

I see people say this but really he's basically the same minus the alcoholism.

fpbp

Not enough shaky cam on a stationary person in an office environment when JJJ's on screen.

...

I can't believe DeVito got nominated for a Razzie over this.

youtube.com/watch?v=R66c0UiUCZ8
It literally defined The Penguin as we know him today.

JUST RECAST HIM ALREADY!

Shaggy was the only actor in the porn parody I had a problem with.

Come on, the tattoos killed all immersion.
