What are your guys opinions on this film?
I didn't really care for it but I just wanna hear people's takes. I don't get the Oscar buzz, other than maybe for Franco as an actor but the film for me as just meh

not able to see it in my country :(
can i get a link?

It wasn’t hard enough on Tommy Wiseau. It mostly portrays him as just some clueless fool.

While that’s true, Tommy was also a real life monster

Does anyone know what MITM episode the movie refers to?

proof

read the damn book

read the book

whats the rundown

>reading
Nigga this is Sup Forums we dont read
Gimme a basic gestalt

I'm getting the feeling that you didn't actually read it and someone else told you he was bad

dont got time listening to monotone book readers

It was ok if you like the Room otherwise its just a mediocre bro-story

It was good I almost forgot James Franco was there and I felt like was watching Tommy be retarded.

>tommy is bad
>tells us to pirate

But is it Oscar worthy? I don't think it even deserved a nomination

just explain it in like a two sentence greentext ya fuck

Hell no.
I would even say the acting and directing by Franco was bad.

But is watching Tommy be retarded actually good?

it was funny, i thought it was good, but only because it was about the room. if it was just about a "bad movie" it woulda been meh.

the movie jumped all over the place and nothing felt complete.

the movie should have purely been about the production and the crew slowly realizing tommy is bat shit insane. Instead the production is maybe 30 minutes of the movie.

James Franco did an amazing job though.

I didn't find it all that funny. A couple laughs but ultimately if you haven't seen the room the movie is just about a retard making a movie. If you have seen the room then you just know what the retards end product was.

>I share Sup Forums with those brainlet.

If you don't know the story by now it clearly shows that you are all underage gen Z piece of shit.

>you are all underage gen Z piece of shit.
That's "pieces of shit" not piece.

It's mostly Francos acting [self-restraint]. The movie itself was surprisingly sympathetic and had positive messages about film but would have been forgettable without the bros.

I kinda wish I hadn't read the book after watching the movie desu.

Also people think Tommy being a "monster" is somehow a big deal or unusual for Hollywood. I think you guys are missing the point desu

It was too much of a typical bromance and not true to the book. My biggest issue with the movie was that it made Greg and Tommy seem like best friends who truly believed in each other. Book Greg knew the room would be shit and spends half his interactions with tommy annoyed and uncomfortable

It was forgettable either way

>bromance
It's even weirder when you consider the fact that Tommy and Greg are played by James Franco and Dave Franco who are actually brothers.

no amount of google searching or synopsis reading proves this and not a single person in this thread can give a short reason as to why he is such a "monster", so most likely this is just another bullshit claim with no proof to back it up.

Tommy is rich and obviously has some brain injury. He is awful not because he has a motive, but because he can't control himself and has too much money to ever suffer any consequence for it.

I liked the movie. It's worth seeing if you're a fan of The Room, but don't expect to be blown away. Unlike many movies I did not wallk out regretting the time I'd lost to it.

>fan of the room
Do these people exist?
