Sara Pezzini

Best Lady cop or just best cop?

Neither, she's a fuck up and that's why we love her.

...

...

Sara, get away from that creep!

Never

Sucks being Witchblade's bae

Bump

Ron Marz and Sejic combined with Hellblazer are the two things that really got me into comics

I thought she was lesbians with Lara Croft.

Huh? Never crossed over. And Sara is straight. Those women in Angelus are lesbians

They did cross over yearly until Ron Marz took over. Around that time Top cow lost the license.

You're thinking of fanfiction.

Lots and lots of fanfiction.

Turner wrote and drew 97, 98, 99-00.

The Top Cow/Tomb Raider relationship was pretty nice.

Best Witchblade artist?

Sejic is awesome, but unfortunately almost his entire work on Witchblade was with Marz as writer.

>Abdulkareem Baba Aminu: Why do you think Witchblade (Sara Pezzini to be precise) has endured all these years, becoming an icon?

>Matt Hawkins:We always pitched it, initially, as ‘NYPD Blues meets the X-Files’. When it came out there wasn’t as much supernatural stuff as there is now, it went on to fill a niche. Despite the early “bad girl” association we always had a strong female readership for the title. Sara was always in control, strong and didn’t need anyone else to “save” her.

>ABA: What exactly do you mean by “bad girl association”?

>MH: In the mid 90s, there were a series of female lead characters that all launched and the industry dubbed it a “bad girl” fad. I never felt the inclusion of Witchblade was completely fair, but it was a sign of the time.

>ABA: Why was the decision taken to rest Witchblade, even with the wide appeal the comic and characters within have?

>MH:All good things come to an end. We tried for years to get people to overlook some of the earlier “bad girl” associations with the release of the title in the mid 90’s. We ultimately felt the title needed a break. We did the same thing with The Darkness.
>ABA: How did you get readers overlook the ‘bad girl associations’?

>MH: We instructed our creative people to not have the character over-sexualized.

This was the Marz approach to the character.

Oh shit. I forgot about that. I remember seeing that cover too. Sara was totally straight though...sadly

>hating Ron Marz
What planet are you from?

Of course Sejic was best but Silvestri was pretty great too. I think he is one of the most underrated artists on Sup Forums

>Thankfully

Fixed that. Angelus was there for Lesbian fetishists. Want to temporarily gay a girl you just have the Angelus possess her. Boom, instant dyke.

see He's a massive hypocrite. He was behind Sara wearing full body armor. Than you get into him basically calling all the previous Witchbladeverse trash.

Michael Turner (RIP) is far and away the best, that first year of Witchblade is a fucking masterpiece. Sejic is good, but Witchblade wasn't his best work and he phones in so many panels

>own it, be yourself don't let what happened to Sara happen to you.

are you reading that Vampirella.

I would agree, but it was so early in his career and he left before he hit his prime. Sejic was more or less in his prime halfway into his huge run.

I hope someone at Dynamite figures that out. Its a genre just like the other pulp, atom age characters. If women want in on that fine. Christina Z wrote forty of those bad girl issues.

Source please? Ron Marz wrote a lot of cheesecake at top cow, i find it hard to believe he shits on witchblade

Yeah. I was making a joke. I'm glad they didn't make her into a dyke. She is a great strong woman and her creepy male interactions make her character somewhat unique. All these creepers actually work in this comic...fucked if i know how that worked out

>In Witchblade, it never made sense to me that Sara was running around in, essentially, a metal bikini. So the first thing we did was get rid of that within the story and put her armor.

>It's a question of who you're serving -- the characters and the story, or the segment of the audience that's apparently too shy to go buy a copy of Playboy. I honestly have no interest in catering to that audience."

>what’s between the covers is a supernatural crime story, not something that panders to hormonal 14-year-olds.

I don't see anything wrong here. I don't mind the cheesecake but her covered in armour via Sejic was much better. I like silvestri stuff but Marz and Sejic was better

On Witchblade prior to his taking over. He's just circumspect enough...he never read it, but it looked like it was geared to light porn.

Its like his feminist bullshit, he virtue signals that he loves strong women like jade. He's still the original fridge man. He virtue signals that he's 'fixing' the Witchblade verse and then starts putting in the smut intermittently.

Silvestri never drew Witchblade. He drew the first 14 issues of the Darkness. But he was never a full time penciller on Sara's comic.

It goes, with fill in artists Turner 1-25, Randy Green 26-39, Keu Cha 40-53, Francis Manupal 54- 75.

Who here bought issue #500?

>Francis Manupal 54- 75.
Nice

eh, it worked though

>looks at first witchblade trade
my bad

This

Fapped so many times to issues. Being a teenager when it was released was so good....

*to this issue

Anybody else remember this show?

...

More Sara!

...

How can I forget. Every time I'm in a Walmart, they have DVD copies of the complete series.
