Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a very mixed film, with a ton of flaws. However, we can all agree that it did right by Luke, Rey and Kylo, right? Because every scene with any of those characters in it was great.

Yes.
Also, the cinematography was really good.

DI$NEY BUCK$

There is not a single good character in TLJ.

i'd say the opposite

Luke was ruined, and rey and kylo were young adult shit. and so much of all 3 of their actions depended on a brand new power to be used as a plot device.
I thought Poe was the only interesting parts

I enjoyed Luke when he was being Luke. They may have ruined his backstory, but I really enjoyed the scene with him and R2 on the Millenium Falcon as well as the scene with him and Leia, where he walks out of the room winking at C-3PO.

It's a good movie, I mean I don't know what people here expect it's Star Wars after all. Their main intent is to entertain and fuck me if this movie isn't entertaining as fuck. Visually impressive too.

I do admit that I don't like how they handled a lot of shit and how they completely erased TFA but whatever it is what it is.

The reason it is so bad is because everyone knows Rey would join Kylo to rule the galaxy. It's in the nature of women to do this.

>Luke literally doesn't really ever train Rey ONCE in the movie
>somehow at the end she is still a certified Jedi (the last Jedi as a matter of fact), ready to carry on the Jedi Order and save the day

Explain this garbage

Luke? No. he was ruined.

Kylo was the most interesting character right until he turned into a manically evil inept bad guy again when the plot required him too.

It was a shitty attempt at a deconstruction that ruined Luke's character.

>luke

Nope. Disney clearly hates him.

>nepoticide Luke
>done right

LUKE ... DELETE THIS THREAD
based kylo saved the movie

It turned Luke into Miyamoto Musashi. That is literally the most interesting thing they could have done with the character.

Kylo and Rey were great, way better than in TFA.

The Luke story could have been better, but I don't think he was ruined. If they had spent more time on Luke training Rey and revealing the backstory about what happened after ROTJ it would have been a lot better. They could have made plenty of room for that by cutting out a lot of the Finn/Rose sidequest.

It turned Luke into Yoda (despite the fact that he had succeeded where Yoda failed by redeeming Vader). That is literally the least interesting thing they could have done with the character.

>Any scene with Daisy "I AM ACTING" Ridley
>Good

The cinematography was indeed excellent.

The writer tried to turn Luke into Obi Wan's character.

They were the best part of the movie yes.

>by Luke
NO
>Rey
Mary Sue
>Kylo
Honestly he should have turned good, but murdering Snooker was a start I guess.

There are plenty of good criticisms that can be made for this movie, however:
Every single one of these posters are plebs. Luke was done excellently.

>They may have ruined his backstory, but I really enjoyed the scene with him and R2
That was the only good thing he did in the movie. That, drink sloth milk, and catch giant fish.

Another pleb.

Fuck you. They turned Luke into someone other than Luke, then killed him.

oh really now why did he not go to crait himself then ?

>Waaaaaah what is character development
You've been successfully pleb filtered out of Star Wars.

Star Wars IV: 2/10

Star Wars V: 3/10

Star Wars VI: 1/10

Star Wars I: 1/10

Star Wars II: 2/10

Star Wars III: 2/10

Star Wars VII: 1/10

Star Wars VIII: 1/10

Some ideas of this series had potential if didn't decide to market it towards children/young adults.

It is a shame so many adults take the lore seriously though...............

Suck my dick.

Honestly it seemed like that's what they were setting up with Luke's abandoned X-wing in the water. He'd have a scene where he lifts it out like Yoda, repairs it, and then goes to Crait to face Kylo himself. And then Kylo ends up cutting off his own hand because of his stupid cross-saber or something and Luke either dies and turns into a force ghost or joins Leia and the others.

What they did was the most disappointing resolution to his character possible.

Luke was ruined, kylo and rey were the best part

>Star Wars II: 2/10

Lmao no

It was character regression not development brainlet.

>character development
You mean character regression, numb nuts.

>However, we can all agree that it did right by Luke
:^)

No, they tried to turn him into Yoda's character from TESB, a hermit who's gone crazy in solitude for the past decade.

Luke's death was INSULTING.

Imagine the impression that the character would've left in you if Luke had died sacrificing himself, like Kenobi, in the battle with Kylo --as it was obviously the screenwriter's first instinct.

But they deliberately create that "force projection" BULLSHIT so you don't have to see blood on screen (same reason for the red-under-the-salt insert and concept, a pathetic cop-out).

It serves a double purpose:

-Instead of dying like a hero, after demonstrating incredible strength and power, Luke dies pathetically: he was lying and weak.

-It's more marketable as a family product.

Sickening.

How much does Disney pay you to shill here?

yeah to me what fucked it all was when kylo leaves his shuttle and asks him if hes sorry and luke is like
>nani
>i dindu niffin

>Luke

Agreed. He had a momentary lapse in judgment just like he did multiple times in the OT, only this time it warped his nephew's mind which eventually caused him to become a bitter isolated hermit in regret. It was an interesting take on his character.

>Kylo and Rey

Fuck no. They were headed somewhere interesting throughout the film and there was clearly a lot of build-up for it, but then they just regressed right back to where they were at the beginning for no reason. They contributed nothing to the progression of the war and ultimately symbolized why the entire movie in general was pointless.

the movie was shittier than star wars 7
how they accomplished this is the only mystery left

You're a pleb.

Character assassination of Luke then just killed him for no reason

Rey is fucking awful, you'd think someone would have paid for Dasiey Ridley to have some fucking acting lessons

Kylo was great

It's character development and you're a pleb

>we can all agree that it did right by Luke
Fucking mouseshills I swear.

this but unironically

>Character assassination of Luke then just killed him for no reason
Maybe Mark was just so bitter about TLJ's Luke he actually nailed the role.

>luke drinking titty milk
>Throws lightsaber over cliff
>Almost burns down Jedi documents
>Dies force projecting across galaxy so he can buy a few minutes for 10 retarded resistance members

If you told anyone this 30 years ago they would flip their shit.

>Dies force projecting across galaxy
Most bad ass thing that ever happened in Star Wars

REPEAT AFTER ME

MOUSE GO AWAY

MOUSE GO AWAY

Yes.

Only the most maximal of plebs are triggered by titty milk.

Only by Kylo, but even that's a stretch. Rey got no development and Ridley is an awful "actress", while Luke's hatred towards the Force was a neat concept reminiscent of Darth Traya and him redeeming himself was nice, though the astral projection shit was an ass pull and was in no way introduced in any of the movies. I think the same goes for the EU, too, at least Luke wise.

pretty pictures =/= good cinematography

Get out of here mouse

No, it isn't.

This is like saying that force ghosts are an ass pull.

One thing I can say is that I respect that they managed to make Kylo Ren from a pitiful manchild into a regular character.
The movie wasn't very good (I literally facepalmed at the Leia fairy grandmother scene), but it was slightly better than Force Awakens, which is something I guess.

Yes.

How so? That concept was introduced before we've seen Obi Wan, Yoda or Annakin use it.

>complain that Rey is a Mary Sue with no personality flaws
>complain that Luke has personality flaws and isn’t shown to be more powerful
You faggots are so predictable

The B-plot with Finn and Asian chick was beyond boring.

Nothing about that Casino planet was the slightest bit interesting, and i knew they were trying really hard with it.

>going senile
>character development
This is Uncle Jun' tier.

>However, we can all agree that it did right by Luke
Hell no. Even Hamill himself hates what they did with Luke.

Yes. I really like how they fleshed out Luke's character showing him making mistake's in the past and ultimately coming back to redeem himself.

Mark Hamill is not the ultimate arbiter of quality. And I'm glad he had a great performance as Luke in the movie even if he personally disagrees with the way his character went. He was really good. And so was Luke's character.

>waaah Force Awakens is just like A New Hope they remake all the iconic scenes
>waaah why didn’t they have Luke die just like Obi Wan in a New Hope it would’ve been so epic!!!

I just love how normies are hating it:

youtube.com/watch?v=cL5oCP0VIEI55445

>we can all agree
We can all agree OP is a colossal faggot of epic proportions

>implying these people are any more "normie" than your average Sup Forums poster

You sound butthurt, pleb. What's wrong? Luke's character development was too much for you?

I'm a bit torn on Luke.

On one hand his fuckup with Ben was completely inline with his character(at least in ANH and Empire), Luke was always looking into the horizon, never at where he was.

But at the same time ROTJ luke was a character that overcame those flaws, so it feels like a regression for him for almost no reason at all.

There are many different ways that Luke could have fell out of confidence, but the way it's handled feels unearned.

>why wasn't there an epic duel in the end like in previous films
Star Wars "fans", everybody

anyone else liked that drunk alien popping quarters into bb8?

it paid off

Fuck off you gay shill. This is not your echo chamber.

brainlet

It's not yours, either. Sorry, but there are plenty of non-plebs like me that will be here to correct you on your wrong opinion. The movie went in the right direction with Luke and the fans who disagree are plebs.

>Did right by Luke
>Tries to kill his nephew, cowardly runs away when he goes full school shooter to suck alien milk for the rest of his life

Over here, we have a brainlet who didn't even watch the movie himself and pieced it together from leaks and webms. Embarrassing.

OFFICIAL STAR WARS RANKING:

Star Wars IV: 4/10
Star Wars V: 5/10
Star Wars VI: 6/10
Star Wars I: 1/10
Star Wars II: 2/10
Star Wars III: 3/10
Star Wars VII: 7/10
Star Wars VIII: 8/10

Does anybody else have problems suspending the disbelief when watching the new trilogy? It doesn't even feel like a real movie just a soulless advertisement. Like there is absolutely no tension. No characterization. No subtlety and no real passion for the project. It's just there to make money and they aren't even trying to hide it.

benico del tor and mark hamill were the best parts

You know it's bad because they could have cut the whole thing for time and had a much better paced film. BUT WAIT THAT ONE KID WHO HAS SOME FORCE POWERS OH BOY

>we can all agree
How a Jew starts an argument

>literally a lando clone
>good

That had a character named Luke but it had nothing to do with Star Wars Luke Skywalker.
I'm unironically going to watch the Holiday Special instead.

>trains once with Luke
>this cunt hit Luke in the back when he walked away from her, an old fucking man
>when he disarmed her she pulled a fucking lightsaber on him
>at the end Luke calls her a Jedi while talking to Kylo as shes pulling a fuckton of rocks to free the resistance
>steals Lukes books

How the fuck did she earn ANYTHING especially the title of fucking JEDI

Luke could feel her strength and attunement to the force.

>carries your movie

>Star Wars IV: 8/10
>Star Wars V: 9/10
>Star Wars VI: 7/10
>Star Wars I: 3/10
>Star Wars II: 5/10
>Star Wars III: 6/10
>Star Wars VII: 7/10
>Star Wars VIII: 5/10

ftfy

The worst thing about her is that she doesn't even feel like a real person. What are her characteristics? What are her goals? Is there any reason why she declined Kylo's offer besides that she's the protagonist? There is absolutely nothing likeable about Rey.

>Completely missed the joke
Embarrassing. As expected of someone that rates Star Wars VI above Star Wars VIII

this thread is one troll having a laugh,
fucking ignore it
>pleb
nice argument cunt

Kylo's neurotic breakdowns though

Luke calls it the Jedi religion. I don't think it's like scientology, you can probably join for free. I am also a jedi. May the Force be with u.

No, it isn't. OP is right.

TPM 1/10
AOTC 2/10
ROTS 3/10
ANH 4/10
ESB 5/10
ROTJ 6/10
TFA 7/10
RO 1/10
TLJ 8/10

Whether he's trolling or not, I agree
Luke, Rey and Kylo = Awesome
Poe = Eh
Finn and Rose = Shit

>>waaah why didn’t they have Luke die just like Obi Wan in a New Hope it would’ve been so epic!!!
who are you quoting ?
i'm not memeing you but genuinely asking i haven't met one person with that (shitty) opinion yet every one is memeing it (like you)

Exactly, fucking hatred smoldering burning rage machine keeps fucking up because he's overwhelmed by emotions. The most interesting character in any Star Wars film.
