So much empty!

wow no one enjoyed it what a surprise!

I liked it when Vice Admiral Holdover let every ship in the fleet get blown up before suicide ramming the last one herself.
I read a leak from an upcoming novel that she was a First Order agent and her mission was to destroy the fleet from the inside. Rian playing some fucking 12D space chess like Trump.

Get out

...

Came here to make a tumbleweed post, you fucking bitch.

the thread JUST started you cunts

There were good things about it. He's setting things up to end the skywalker story and that is good for the franchise. JJ wouldn't have the balls to not have Rey be Luke's son and just keep making the series about nothing but skywalker drama.

The movie does some good things for the series overall by pushing it in a new direction but the film itself has a lot of self contained issues with it's own plot and an inconsistent tone.

A shit on star wars thread would have been archived by now

Having said that, I think it's important to appreciate the failures both in the movie and the figurative failure that is this movie. The last one is gonna be dope

You are on the wrong side of history

Saw it today and I actually thought it was pretty good.

I actually did unironically enjoy the film. Really liked the visuals and the thematic elements really resonated with me, especially Luke's arc. I'm more of a theme/structure person, so the poor plot didn't bother me all that much. I can understand why so many people dislike it though.

I liked it, I watched it with a group of good friends, we had a good time together because we are the car that will carry the men who will be caught as part of the plan that will crash the plane that will cause air traffic chaos that will delay the flight of the First Order.

Gonna be totally honest here, I didn't even see it but stilled joined the discord raid, been making 40 fake RT accounts daily and have a bot spamming negative reviews. Although it seems to be frozen at 56% right now, so there's definitely some kike trickery going on. Gonna keep the bots on but what else do you think we should do?

youtube.com/watch?v=Kj3opk1QFTM

Whatever you do, don't see the movie. It's shit.

me too i really enjoyed it, everyone in my theatre did too and my friends ive talked to did as well. I dont get why its getting SOO much hate on here

Hehe, I didn't like it but I'm in the thread anyway!

Why didnt they lightspeed ram the deathstar when they had plenty of opportunity? I'm genuinely curious.

>take a series about this family
>make it not about this family but about the titless wonder and her resting bitch face
>people will surely still see it!

Saw it for the first time and thought it mediocre bordering on bad, but then I saw it a second time and really really liked. Maybe seeing it again without the hype baggage helps look over thr flaws in the writing. Anyone had a similar experience?

The movie is very unbalanced. I greatly enjoyed Kylo Ren and Luke's subplot flaws and all, but the resistance plot was outright awful to watch.

Also, while Ren's a great villain, Rey's an awful hero. She's nobody, she has no goals, she doesn't actually do anything relevant in this movie except move some rocks and act as a distraction for Snoke.

I liked it a lot, the only people mad about it are fanfic spergs who had retarded expectations they hyped up themselves for two years.

6 > 3 > 8 > 5 > 1 > 2 > 4 >= 7

Why would you want to watch that a second time? It's so bad

You need a very high IQ to appreciate The Last Jedi. I'm not surprised you nerds can't appreciate true kino when you see it.

A star destroyer is like the size of a city. The Death Star is the size of a small moon. It's just too big to damage it by chipping away at it.

Sorry OP but if you liked this abortion of a movie then you belong to another place.

GO BACK FAGGOT.

Getting this mad about a children's movie in the current year. I'm convinced that most of the people that hate this movie are just LARPing it up to trigger the fanboys. The real star wars "red pill" is understanding that these are commercials to sell toys to kids and you've wasted your lives sperging out over the back story of an alien drinking in a bar who's on screen for 2.6 seconds.

youre on thin ice buddy

It was a laugh riot, I got drunk in the theater with my friends and we riffed the shit out of it from beginning to end. At the very least, I got $6 of entertainment out of it.

found something better to watch

Why didn't Luke and Vader used any force power during their fights?
Why doesn't Obi Wan recognize 3PO ?
Why does the emperor wants to turn Luke to the dark side if there is the rule of 2?

Caring about plot holes and inconsistencies in a sci-fi movies for kids is your only mistake here.

Because it's more fun to hate things than it is to enjoy them.

In a weird way, everything Empire should've been. It captured the feeling of near-defeated rebellion and the inspiration of hope by Luke that Hope/Empire never did.

Very good movie imo. Lots of wow moments and emotional resonance, and set up great romance between Rey and Kylo.

Only thing I dislike is how they treated Luke's character, but that doesn't make it a bad movie.

5>4>8>6>3>RO>2>7>1

Wait, there's a new Star Wars movie? When did this happen? Does it still got the pog racing?

It's my favorite "so bad it's good" film this year!

They are the fucking government, they are not a fucking rebellion. The First Order is rebelling against the established government, and by the end of the movie, it looks like 500 FO guys vs. like 12 republic guys. It's so fucking stupid.

Then why would she suicide ram snorkel's ship?

I completely forgot Kylo was Luke's nephew during the ending showdown. I just realized that today. So, what the fuck is the third movie going to be about? There's absolutely nothing set up for a third movie.

H O P E
O
P
E P O H

I thought it was amazing. Up there with Empire.

These manbabies upset that Luke isn't space jesus and that Leia and Holdo know better than Poe need to get over themselves.

>I hate the movie
>So I will fake the reviews
>That way I can use the fact that it has shit viewer reviews to defend my point even if it's only because of me that it has shit reviews
>Instead of simply accepting the truth
Really the epitome of denial

>I'm convinced that most of the people that hate this movie are just LARPing it up to trigger the fanboys.
You'd be wrong.

I liked Canto Bight theme
youtube.com/watch?v=N8ue_5T4fMk

Weight of a large cruiser at greater than light speed would have enough energy to blow apart the death star with ease. "Force field" technology is the only way to make it work

>KYLO! Darth Vader, the man you idolize, my father, before he died he repented! He spared me! Saved my life!

Why didn't Luke say anything, at all? What made him so afraid of some faggy kid that nobody likes that he would attempt to murder him in his sleep (apart from the shittiest writing on the planet)?

THOSE KIND OF SHENANIGANS WILL GET YOU SABERED IN YOUR SLEEP

That little Oliver Twist space horse watchin' urchin mofo at the end is the entire third movie, he's going to bring Luke back to life, skullfuck Kike-O Ren, impregnate Mary Sue, and save the world. Screenshot this

>Dont tell Poe your plan for literally no reason
>Make it seem like you dont even have a plan
>Poe comes up with one that wont even interfere with whatever you are doing
>make it appear you are just planning to abandon ship
>dont explain plan
>Poe mutinies
>dont explain plan wasting valuable time while poe tries his long shot but only shot plan
>90% of remaining resistance die
>Its okay because now there is hope because luke did a thing and a random kid told his friends about it

>know better

I liked it, and the more I think about it the more I like it. Pic related was my favorite scene and probably one of the best in all of star wars.

Closest Wars has gotten to kino since A New Hope.

Oh, you mean when the characters we know almost nothing about die meaninglessly? I liked that scene in Rogue One too!

>46 replies in almost an hour.

not him but there is tons of other reasons to like this scene than your fanfic sperg expectations not being met. Starting with the visuals.

>assuming hes actually dead
>assuming they didn't purposely leave his background a mystery

Yes Sup Forums is a hate circlejerk hivemind, nothing to be proud of.

It's straight up John Woo

If you liked it so much then why is it at the bottom

She was teaching Poe a lesson that he has to respect those ahead of him in command. She didnt owe him an explanation at all. This was part of Poe's development in this film from going from a hotshot flyboy who makes quick daring decisions to someone more mature that learned to concede to authority. I honestly think just because shes a woman this obvious thing went over so much of Sup Forums's heads as they just got triggered by muh purple haired female in power REEE.

Anybody else think it's like a 6/10, maybe a 7? It had a lot of problems sure like the casino subplot and wasting Luke but stuff like tossing aside the mystery didn't ruin it. Hell I even shed a goddamn tear when Yoda showed up.

I thought it was ok.

Or maybe your movie is bad and not many people liked it.

Just a thought.

The visuals were horseshit and the choreography was so fucking bad.

...

>being happy about hating things

aww user you need a hug

Kino desu, especially the irony of Snoke's dialogue leading up to it

Poe is a brash guy whose solution to everything is blowing shit up, They were trying to teach him to follow orders and trust in the competence of others.

They didn't owe him an explanation, leaders cannot always be wasting time explaining every little thing to the underlings.

Yeah, real subtle. Genius, really.

Just like that kino moment when Leia flies through the hologram of Snoke's star destroyer, it's what happens later in the movie. Like poetry, almost.

...

Those guards react really late

i wonder if people who saw the clone wars cartoons were more forgiving of this movie? just a theory

I really like kylo , I'm utterly baffled bye wasting snoke, presenting him, barely building him up and then killing him off suddenly, that's something Michael Bay does in transformer films

It's not something you'll spot on the first viewing unless you're looking for it like a tryhard. Any action movie with group fights have stuff like this going on, it's comparable to many other tricks filmmakers do.

Literally the only reason you complain about this is because the first opinion you made on this movie was through 3 secs long webms in 240p resolution so you could watch every single move over and over.

Stop acting like you would've finished the movie thinking "wow that choreography during the throne room didn't make sense". In the context of the film it works, it's not supposed to be seen frame by frame just like a movie isn't supposed to be seen through crappy webms, but it really baffles me that I have to explain that to anyone else than a little child.

>Just like that kino moment when Leia flies through the hologram of Snoke's star destroyer
Kek I didnt even notice that, man im gonna have to rewatch TLJ a few times to pick up on all the details and subtleties. Rian really put a lot of thought and effort into it. I really wish he was directing episode 9

I think the clone wars cartoons, CGI shit and Rebels were some of the worse SW material ever created.
And I fucking loved this movie (apart from a few retarded scenes ofc)

i will not ignore your meme post, friend

>She didnt owe him an explanation at all.
AT THIS POINT WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE

Fuck women

I love Clone Wars and Rebels, other than them having too much filler. Hated this new movie.

Kylo already knows that though. He's trying to not fall for the same light side pitfall so he can rule the galaxy.

I watched every single episode of them and I loved this movie. I think perhaps it could be because it goes into the details of the true purpose of "the chosen one", which is to bring actual balance to the force not destroy the sith. The Jedi in their hubris misunderstood the prophecy and it resulted in their own demise and the galaxy's spiral into darkness for several years.

Loved this scene youtube.com/watch?v=groYO_51bwY

He has like 50 guys, and they don't even fucking like him. He's not ruling anything.

giv emma roberts gf

Yes she did, she was literally responsible for his life and the lives of everyone else on that ship, as he was responsible for the lives of his squadron mates, and as a squadron leader, he absolutely was owed an explanation as to what the fucking plan was - as well as what his team's role would be in it. Are you people retarded? The team leaders then disseminate information to the team members, as well.

parts of this movie reminded me of the prequels and not in a shit way. the whole jedi not being the good guys/balanced was quite clone warsish
i liked this film lots.

i miss annikins clonewars character, i wish they hadnt wasted him in the movies so bad

>Why does the emperor wants to turn Luke to the dark side if there is the rule of 2?
I thought it was that Sidious and Vader both wanted Luke as their apprentice as he has a higher potential than Vader and Vader would prefer ruling with his son to Sidious. Whoever won Luke would have teamed up with him to kill the other.

Yes this is correct

rey slipping out of that guy's hold just doesn't make sense

I must say that I personally LOVED the movie.

It started out with a very funny joke where Poe was prank calling Hux, hah, got'em!
Then there was the cassino sequence, and oh my god, it was so necessary to have it to warn people of how capitalism is evil and hurts animals and all.
Then the big bad guy Snowke got killed, VERY GOOD, bad guys should die even tho i dont even know why he was bad in the first place, but oh well.

And the Porgs. Oh my god i loved the porgs, they were so cute and infested the millenium falcon, i hope the resistance tames them in the next future, they could prove valuable to distract their enemies with cuteness.

Rey was A-W-E-S-O-M-E, really guys, shes like a prodigy, she learns everything so fast and is always captivating to see her succeed at everything every time.

The fight with the red knights of ren was awessome too, good thing Rey was there to save Kylo, he is so weak :/ .

The lightspeed jump into Snoke's sequence was superb! just wondering why they didnt do any of the sort before tho, could have been usefull.

Luke finally got what he deserved! we need to bring down these white male icons from star wars, making him into a questionable morale character really opens up space fow new icon heroes, such as Finn and Rey, not Poe tho he was mansplaining and reckless.

Using force powers takes focus away from staying alive in a laser sword duel. In Empire, Vader was so thoroughly owning Luke in the duel that he toyed with him by telekinetically chucking shit at him. It's the equivalent of tying an arm behind your back.

>for anons whom loved the film
Great! Now that I've got you all in one place. Fuck you all. I hope you all fucking die in your sleep.

literally shaking

It can't be about skywalkers forever user. If you don't want it to ever change then the whole thing should have stopped with RoTJ

She was the commanding officer and they are all military personnel. Her plan did not involve Poe's team carrying out any specific thing so there was nothing relayed to him.

yes Star Wars if for fucking kids when will you learn?

The commanding officer in any military operation would brief his direct subordinates on the plan, who would then brief their direct subordinates, and so on down to the lowest level. This is a basic part of planning for any sort of operation, you teach the guy below you what he needs to know for his job two levels up, that way if his immediate superior is killed somehow, they can fill the role.

Basically to prepare for the exact scenario that happened in the movie.

can't wait to know how to criticise the movie I haven't seen after my cool nerd YouTube show reviews it

I basically only cared about scenes involving rey, kylo, and luke, the rest of it was the bathroom break

"It's for kids"

>fill movie with killing and depression and nihilism

Dat is some kid movie.

>The lightspeed jump into Snoke's sequence was superb! just wondering why they didnt do any of the sort before tho, could have been usefull.
Cute, you can't even refrain yourself from letting your inner sperg out about insignificant details.

A 5 seconds shot where we see the commander activating a special prototype of "deathly lightspeed overdrive" is literally all that it would've took to shut your mouth, that's how pathetic this complain is. But you guys never attack the big themes, always nitpick at some of the most trivial incoherencies.
